Pentagenarians & Beyond: W/B 10/30

Hi Ladies,

Today I will be going to my bar method class. I did not workout yesterday, my DD and I went to get our pedicure re-done. We went on Sunday and they did a horrible job, by Monday our toes looked terrible. Tomorrow I have an event to go to with my DH. This one I like, because they always have good entertainment.

Cathy, I'm glad that you are back, but sorry for your loss.

Deb, I did not buy the series. I like working out in a group, I'm not good at working out by myself. I get bored very easily.

Garance, thank you very much! I will mail the check tomorrow.

Joan, I have a fried that has to use the same drops a you and her taste buds have changed. I hope that your eyes get better.

Hi Valerie!

Debating on whether to go in or not. I took some cold stuff and will see if it works. I feel horrible, temp is 97.3 so no fever.

So tired right now, I wish I could just crawl into bed for about 3 hours.

Anyone have any plans for the weekend?

yoga was tough yesterday, she had us doing a lot of push up type moves. My right shoulder still isn't as happy as it should be, so that was enough upper body for the day. later yesterday I did 15 on the stationary bike and 25 on the treadmill. I don't use the treadmill as much lately but when I get on, I can go just as fast and at the same incline as usual. hiking and road biking are getting less frequent, so need to get back to the treadmill more often. I previewed Slide and Glide while exercising. does not look easy but do-able. there are a lot of push ups in there. today (for fun and excitement) I'm going to try to get my car in to the tire store and get my winter tires mounted.
Deb for me, cold meds that work at all keep me awake. but my head gets so blocked up I'm awake anyway. I need to breathe even if I don't sleep well. I use nose spray to open my airway but need to use more than recommended. I go to great lengths to avoid getting colds because of the high misery index.

no special plans for the weekend, will see how the weather turns out.

Hi Deb, Josie, Joan, Cathy, and Valerie--

This morning I did Low Impact Challenge (50 min.). Really work up a sweat on this one, especially the blast at the end. Choreo easier this time.

Deb, I hope you are feeling better. I'm totally with Valerie on the misery index with colds. Ugh! Chicken soup might help, even if you just breathe the fumes. DH and I are going out to dinner on Sunday. They have started their "comfort Sundays" again at Mezze's, and the price cannot be beat.

Have fun at your event, Josie! Let us know what the entertainment is like.

Daylight Savings on Sunday. Yippee, an extra hour of sleep.

Got my winter tires on and it wasn't even busy, not what I was expecting. but with the drive both ways, it killed off the morning.

yes, lots of chicken soup. any steamy hot liquid seems to help clear things, and the extra fluid helps too. I usually have canned chicken or vegie broth on hand, and dilute it. add a little ginger root and simmer it a little. when I'm sick I don't cook much. it's one of the few times tea tastes good to me, especially ginger or orange flavor. so much tea is available in decaf now... so I feel OK about it. I can't drink much of it if it's caffeinated....really get stuck to the ceiling!

Deb, I mailed the check thursday morning.

Valerie, I do have some really nice herbal teas that I forget about because I am such a coffee drinker. Thanks for the reminder, I think I will brew a cup now!

So glad it's Daylight Savings this weekend, love that extra hour. Still feeling horrible, left work at noon yesterday to get some rest, but that didn't happen,

Vet called with Keegan's results, no infection, nothing showed in the culture, and the PH was up to 8. Amazing. Now we are putting him on another anti-inflamatory, one that is used for dogs with bladder cancer, which he does not have any signs of. Something is irritating the lining of the bladder, I am starting to wonder if something went wrong in the surgery. I call him back Wednesday to let him know how the new med is working. I think it will only show that yes, something is irritating, and once we take him off, just like the steroid, it will be back. STill not finding out what the irriation is. I want to go right to the ultrasound, rather than keep treating what we can't see. But who am I? Not the vet.

Hope to go to class today with him, it's the only time he gets full attention without the vixen bothering him.
