Good morning all,

Today I did the second workout from KCM's new 30 Minutes to Fitness "Slim Down". These are great workouts, intervals with compound weight moves and boxing in between to keep your heart rate up.

Lynda, I think you would really like this new KCM. I know you are working your way through the new Cathe DVD's, but maybe when you are getting tired of them, you can try this one. I did what you said, it worked, and I watched the first 2 episodes of season 1 of Doc Martin. Very good series! Kind of reminds me of All Creatures, except he is not a vet. I love the scenes of the town. Thanks for posting this.

Judy, the pic link you posted would not open for me :(. How is Tiger today?

I have the second part of the dog massage seminar this afternoon, Keegan will be in his glory, 100% of my attention and a massage too! :D

Hi to Lori, Valerie, & Josie,

Take care,

Hi Ladies,

I will be doing a 3 mile walk today and maybe going out to lunch with my DH.

Deb, thank you so much for your generous donation for ALC.

This is my Post on the AIDS Life Cycle website:

Dear Friends and Family:

The time has come again for me to put on my padded pants, lather on the sunscreen, and plan a fabulous outfit for Red Dress Day. It's time to get back on the bike and ride to end AIDS once and for all!
From June 1-7, 2014, I'll be cycling down the California coast for my third AIDS/LifeCycle! The 7-day, 545-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles makes a world of difference in the lives of people living with HIV and AIDS. I am calling on all of you to help me support this cause in order to continue to fund the wonderful programs that the San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the AIDS services of the LA. Gay & Lesbian Center provides. The budgets for both the AIDS Foundation and the Gay & Lesbian Center have been cut drastically due to our economy and they are in dyer need of our help.

As many of you know I participate in this event on behalf of my brother Jaime, a 17-year survivor of AIDS and a pivotal member of my family. Thanks to advances in medicine, a team of exceptional doctors, and the love of our family and friends, he has continued to live a happy and healthy life. If it wasn't for the wonderful programs offered by the above-mentioned groups he would join a large collection of his friends who are no longer here. As the single sister in a family of 7 boys, you can imagine the closeness I have to my only "sistah". To keep him in my life I willingly give 7 days and nights in his name and in the name of those close to him that he has lost to this disease.
Please help me by donating to this cause so that we can find a cure and offer support to people suffering from this preventable disease. If you would like to read more about the wonderful programs offered by the Foundation and the Gay & Lesbian centers you can go to the web-site aidslifecycle.org.

I would like to thank you in advance for your support!
While the suggested goal is $3,000, I challenge you to give up your daily latte for a few days and pitch a couple extra dollars for a good cause. Your heart & your teeth will thank you for it :) All pledges are due by June 1st, 2014.

Sincerely,
Josefina (Josie) Greenidge.

Hi Deb, Josie, Valerie, Lori, and Judy--

This morning I did Rockout Knockout (56 min.). I really like this workout with the 1 lb. gloves.

Josie, I received your email and will send a contribution.

Deb, Doc Martin is such a curmudgeon, and that dog somehow loves him and follows him around everywhere even though he gets nothing but negative attention. I have a lot of KCM's workouts and really have liked them, so maybe after I get tired of these. Keegan is a very lucky dog!

Yay, Red Sox!!

Good evening ladies!

Wow my legs are feeling lean legs and abs today. I am glad I decided not to use the arm movements and concentrate on legs while using heavier weights plus my weight vest. This really worked for me. Do not think I would have been happy doing it as it was meant to be. I loved the chair and firewalker section as is. Wow did I feel the burn here. Used the green ban and that was enough. Ab portion was good too.

Today I walked chester 3.5 miles then did a couple of 100 rep challenges from xtrain. Glad I did all this before the Pats lost. Otherwise, I would have not been in the mood to workout. oh well....go Red Sox!!!! :D

Lynda...I like RK too. The reviews have been all over the place on this one. Like you I use 1lb gloves the entire time. My heart rate does come down a bit during the punching combos but I still enjoy it. This seems to be the biggest complaint.

Josie...that is an incredible ride. I would love to donate. Please email me your address.

Judy...thinking of you. How is Tiger today?

Deb...I have been reading great reviews on KCM's slim down. People really seem to like it. What is the Tread mill workout you do? Been meaning to look into it. I have been watching Son's of Anarchy and when I finally get thru the series I'll be needing something. Prime instant video is really easy and great to use on the Ipad. Our blue-ray player is a sony and I am even able to watch amazon videos thru this! Crazy technology!!!

Hi to the traveling Valerie!!

Hi Lori,

You can donate by going to aidslifecycle. Org then click on donate and enter my name.

Thank you,

Josie

Good morning,

Today I did Run Fit on the treadmill.

Lori: here is the link: Shopping with Candace Grasso - Fit Is It

Josie, you are welcome.

Lynda, watched the 3rd episode last night...what happens is almost predictable, but still so good. His expressions and tone of voice make the character. Did you ever watch the series "Lovejoy" on PBS? The not so ethical antique dealer in East Anglia?

Valerie, hope all works well with your trip and you get some good hiking in.

Judy, let us know how Tiger is doing,

Work, then class tonight, it's our progress match night, always a good time.

Take care,

Hi Everyone,

Tiger has been stable, with some improvements over the weekend. He is starting to eat solid food on his own. Saturday night he came downstairs and laid down in his old spot in the living room and spent the evening with us. Last night he jumped up on the sofa and laid there for the evening. He is interacting with us a little more and doesn't seem as withdrawn. We are trying to get some weight on him then will take him back to vet for blood work to see where his kidney numbers are.

This morning I did Muscle Max and Core Max workout 1. I might try to do a short bike workout later since I have the day off.

Deb-I attached the photo I was trying to link to.

The dog massage seminar sounds interesting.

Josie-I will make a donation for your ride.

Lynda-Doc Martin sounds good, I'll have to check it out.

Lori-Great workouts!

Hi to Valerie,

Judy

Hi Deb, Josie, Valerie, Lori, and Judy--

This morning I did Great Glutes, the premix without the ball (55 min.). I would characterize this workout as intermediate, which is good for me. I just don't want to even try flipping a heavy barbell on to my shoulders anymore.

Judy, the picture of the two cats was great. They look so lordly. Misty was beautiful.

Deb, I will have to check out Lovejoy. The setting for Doc Marten in Cornwall is so beautiful. If it didn't rain so much, I would love to live there. I've been so many times now, and really was entranced with the Lake country, Cambridge, and parts of Cornwall.

Lori, that was a weird Pats game with that new rule. With all the pushing and shoving and tackling in football, I have a hard time understanding why that particular push is illegal.

Hi to Josie and Valerie.

Judy,

When Kelsey ( and now Keegan)'s liver/kidney values were off, we started them on Milk Thistle, and it really helped both of them a lot. You would of course, need to ask your vet if this is something you could start with Tiger and how often etc. Keegan's liver values were not good ( he has had the bladder stones etc), so we started him on Milk Thistle, I give him one capsule every other day, and they went back to normal.

Just a thought....

Deb

Hi Ladies,

I'm waiting for a friend so we can go for a 3 mile walk and then a workout specific for cyclist.

Judy, do you think that Tiger was sensing that Misty was ill and that is why he stopped eating?

I will be back later.

Josie

Good afternoon ladies!

Slept in this morning. As usual the Monday morning blues. Tonight it is Hard Strikes again. Surprised this is up so soon in this rotation. I have a great 40 minute heavy bag workout so I may sub this in its place.

Deb...thanks for the link. I will look into this.

Judy...Great news on Tiger!

Josie...thanks I saw the link the second read thru.

Lynda...what are your thoughts on LLA? I think you said you liked it. The bar and firewalker portion is tough!!! Love this section. I have not done Great Glutes yet. I have heard this one is good.

Hi to Valerie!!!

I had my reply typed for some time but just noticed I did not hit send. Then I noticed Lynda you had posted about GG. I hear you about barbells. I try and avoid them at all costs. I will always try and use dumbbells whenever I can. Even when doing STS I substituted dumbbells most of the time. I know I am giving up weight by not using a barbell but that is fine with me. I like the results I have received just the same. So that is what matters to me!

Yes I agree with that call. Makes no sense to me. Guess it is a new rule just this year. oh well. Live and learn.

Have a great afternoon!

Deb-Thanks for the tip. I will check with the vet on Milk Thistle.

Josie-That is possible, if he sensed Misty was ill, it might have affected him. I can't tell if he knows she is gone or not. They got along ok but they weren't really close.

Good morning all,

Great class last night, both Kylee and Keegan did well in the progress match.

Judy, great pic of the kitties! Glad to hear Tiger is starting to feel better. Milk Thistle is a great supplement for liver support. People also use it. My vet actually attended some of his vet schooling in Seattle where he studied Eastern type practices, and the use of herbs etc. I was amazed at how fast both Kelsey's and Keegan's liver values went back to normal.

Lynda, I am not sure if the Lovejoy TV series is out there....but if it is that would be fun to see again and it would be great it they had it for streaming etc. What made you go to Cornwall many times? It looks enchanting on the show.

Hi Josie, Valerie, Lori,

Work, then home...such an exciting life!

Take care,

Hi Deb, Josie, Valerie, Lori, and Judy--

This morning I did Rockin' Party Step 2 (52 min.). Almost perfect now on the choreo. I modify for impact and especially on Combo 6.

Deb, I have been to Great Britain several times, dating back to college, both for conferences and as a tourist, so I've tried to see most of it. I haven't tried to find Lovejoy yet.

A 30 year retrospective on the Women's Studies program this Saturday, so I have to write a little something about its beginnings, since I was the first Chair for the program.

Lori, I liked LLA a lot. I've only done it once because Cathe has so many good weight workouts in this series--lots of variety.

Judy, good news on Tiger!

Good afternoon ladies!

I have two alarms that ring in the morning. They go off 5 minutes apart. This morning one went off at 4:50AM and the other 4:55AM. Well we both completely slept thru them. We did not wake up until DH's alarm went off at 6:25AM. This is insane! Never had that happen before. Kind of scares us that we both can sleep that soundly.

Needless to say no workout this morning. I did HS in its entirety last night including the heavy bag tabatas. Maybe this wiped me out more than I know.

Lynda...I liked PRS2. Only did it once but have it down for Friday. I would love to read your writings about this subject if you are willing to share. Very interesting and how wonderful to be a part of the beginning.

I loved England. Went in 1994. Started off in London then visited all different areas. Flew over to Ireland and then spent several days there. Would love to go back.

HA! Deb...work then home is pretty much my life too!

Judy...Hoping Tiger is still getting stronger.

Hi to Josie and Valerie!

Hi Deb, Josie, Valerie, Lori, and Judy--

This morning I did Burn Sets for Ch, Ba, Sh (50 min.).

Deb, I looked up Lovejoy at Amazon, and they don't have it on streaming, but they do have dvds for the seasons it was on. If I remember correctly, they are about 30 dollars for Amazon Prime members. I might try Netflix when I have the time. I'm still hooked on Doc Martin.

DH can sleep through an alarm, but I definitely cannot. I am such a creature of habit that I wake up at 6:15 A.M. est in other time zones. I love to go back to sleep, though.

Looks like Indian Summer is finally past. A real chill in the air today.

Good evening ladies!!

Tonight was Lean Legs and Abs...but as I am typing this I just remembered I forgot to do the abs! It was my plan to do the bonus barre but I now realize when the leg section was over I went to menu for the barre not realizing there was more! I like the ab section in this so will need to fit this in somewhere. Too funny.

Tomorrow will be a late night for me so I will be sleeping in. I am joing in our company's monthly food shelter donation. We are feeding about 150 people in Worcester. Love that we do this at different shelter every month.

Yes getting cold here. We decided to pay and have our leaves done. We are so bad. $360 and it is worth every penny to us. Never paid to have it done but this year it will feel good!!

Go Red Sox!!!!!!

Good morning,

No workout today, late class last night. I thought I posted here yesterday, but apparently I didn't.

Lynda, I would like to read what you wrote too, if there is a way to get to it. Is there a link or somewhere it is posted? It would be great if they had Lovejoy on Netflix, so you don't buy the series and find out you don't like it or something.

Lori, I cannot imagine sleeping through an alarm. I hear everything and wake up instantly. You must have shut it off while you were still asleep? I use a radio alarm and it blasts the news when it goes off, no sleeping through that LOL. So you paid the $360 and they keep coming back to do the leaves until they are gone?? That is awesome! LOL about forgetting to do the ab part of the workout.

Judy, how is Tiger doing?

Hi to Josie & Valerie,

Work, then going to my cousins to feed and let her dogs out on the way home. She is in Hilton Head...the lucky stiff!

Hi Ladies,

No workout today through Sunday. We are going to Las Vegas to celebrate DH's and DD birthdays. Today is my DD and tomorrow is my DH's , we will be driving there.

Lori, I wake up automatically at 6:15 but I'm learning how to go back to sleep until 7 :)

Judy, hope Tiger is doing well.

Valerie, hope that you are having a great vacation.

Garance, any new sewing projects for this fall.

Hi o Deb!
