Good Morning,

I am headed to the airport in a bit. Off to DC. I will be back late
Wednesday night.

Workout gear is packed, and hopefully will come out of the suitcase.

DH and I went to our favorite "celebration" restaurant last night, and I am still full..

Joan, wow, too bad about the man and his tax return. Do you have any other contact for him, like a son or daughter etc.?

Garance, Happy Anniversary!

Josie, keep up the Kevin workouts, and getting great results.

Cathy, I hope your weather stays like it is now for a while.

Back next week, take care..

Hi Deb and any later posters--

This morning I did Physique 57, the 57 min. workout. I still find this one daunting, so I like to get it done at the beginning of the week.

Going out tonight, trala!

I read your post from the last thread, Joan, and I am confused. I thought you did all the tax returns for filing in April. What are you filing now??

Deb, what is your favorite restaurant? The place we are going tonight is tres francais and I am sure I will have to have their butterscotch sundae. The butterscotch is to die for! Usually I don't have dessert. I also might have the escargots as an appetizer, although that is upping the ante on the beurre a bit much.

Have a safe trip and get on the treadmill for 30 min. when you have the chance.

deb, i only had 1 cathe as i remember. and , i don't remember what happened to it.

garnace, hope you had a nice anniversary dinner. and, back to the subject of the older cathe's. i didn't particularly like the crew she had either. guess i'm just used to jai, lorraine, cedie ,& brenda. but, today i did High Step Circuit. just got it in the mail. i like it , but it is definitely one of the easier ones. next time i will use heavier wts. and the 8" step.

did not workout fri. or sat. had the grandkids.
well, still raining here. and very cool!!! feels good.

Hi Ladies,

Happy anniversary to both Deb and Garance! I may not wo today, but I did do my wo's this weekend. I did not spin on Sunday, but I walked 6 miles with my old partner. It was a nice Sunday. It was overcastted and cool I love days like this, it is the same today.

Cathy, I know that you had your hands full this weekend with the grand kids.

Joan, how is your mom? Are you doing the taxes for the people that asked for extensions?

Have a great day ladies!

Josie

Hi Deb, Josie, Joan, and Cathy--

This morning I did BM2, cardio and weights premix (70.5 min.).

Our first hard freeze last night. Very chilly. DH covered his lettuce. What a great harvest of squashes (butternut and acorn) and parsnips to last us probably until Thanksgiving. Still have a few eggplants and I'm eating the very last 6 tomatoes. I wonder how long the lettuce will go.

Had my Manhattan and butterscotch sundae last night. Had beef tenderloin for entree, but it wasn't as rare as I like it. Only ate half and brought the rest home.

Cathe had some real poker faces on some of those early crews. I still miss Rhonda though. She was always so upbeat and had the funniest expressions. She was also gorgeous--nothing wrong with that.

Hi to Deb in Washington. Hope you can get some of those idiot-politicians to do some work.

Happy Columbus Day!

wow, i'm shocked. i actually did something on here.
ok, check-in today is total body time crunch w/rebekah & slim & sculpt pilates w/alison. both firm workouts. ttyl

Hi ladies,

I am just checking in while my return is printing. I only had 5 extensions. I try to do all returns (except mine:eek:) by April 15th. With a total of 400 returns that's not too bad. I also tell everyone I hate extensions so they won't get done until Oct 15th. Everyone else is done and now I will go off and review my return. If it's correct I might even get in a wo tonight.

Hi Deb, Josie, Joan, and Cathy--

This morning I did Physique 57 arms and abs and a couple miles with Leslie (60 min.).

Quite a chill in the air here. Question for those of you in temperate climates: Do you clean up your flower gardens in the fall or let everything stay put until the spring? I have heard conflicting opinions on this. Some of my friends believe it is best to let the garden absorb everything as nutrients and then cut everything back when spring arrives. I have usually cut everything down in the fall, but I keep losing my hollyhocks, and I'm thinking I will just leave them in their sorry state and see what happens.

Tomorrow I am getting my seasonal flu shot. I wonder when the H1N1 vaccine will arrive. I just plain hate getting sick. I had one bad cold last December and that's all. Not even a cold this fall.

Wow, Joan, you're cutting it close on those returns. I am a worry wart and we always do our returns early--February.

Back to my writing.

HOWDY, today i did Maximum Cardio Burn (firm) and the above lower body circuit by allie. great workout.

there is supposed to be a chill here on friday. it is still raining and humid. but, that is ok, cuz we need all the rain we can get.

josie, is el paso still in the drought?

Hi ladies,

Done with my return.:D What do you mean cutting it close. I'm 2 days early.:p I at least don't have to depend on anyone else when I do my own return. I do the others late to encourage them to bring in their info early. My deadline for clients is March 26. If they don't bring in by then I won't promise to have return done by April 15th. Actually it's only the people who bring in taxes after April 13-14th that don't get done.

No exercise today I'm going to bed.

I have some plants that really should be cleaned up in fall. It usually happens in November -January when we get a warm spell. Because of tax returns I would wait until May and that's too late.

Cathy good avatar.

Joan

Hi Ladies,

Sorry for not posting yesterday, but I had a lot of work to do. I did my Kevin wo last night and I'm happy to say that I'm still at 163lbs. I thought that I had gained weight because I overindulged on the weekend.

I will be going shopping this evening with my wo partner and my DD. Does that count as a wo?

Cathy, I don't live in El Paso, I was just born there. I live in Los Angeles and we have been in a drought, but it started raining yesterday and it has not stopped yet. We don't have any fires at this time, but now we have to worry about the mud slides on all the burnt areas.

Garance, I don't know if I will get the flu shot this year, I'm still thinking about it. Last year I had a very bad case of the flu after I got the shot.

Joan, I’m glad that you finished all of your taxes. Now you can relax and go back to normal.

Have a great day ladies!

Josie

Hi Deb, Josie, Joan, and Cathy--

This morning I did DM, the cardio and upper body premix (60 min.).

Joan, I think I will cut back my peonies and leave everything else until the spring and see how this works. Our local extension service (I called for advice) said it's best to wait until the spring, so even though I think it looks messy, I will adhere to their recs.

I did get my flu shot today. I swear by them. It's a dead virus, so you cannot get the flu from the vaccine. Or--so I have been told. My mom, bless her soul, lived through the 1918 flu pandemic, but she said people were dropping like flies. Her mother for some reason never caught it and turned their house into a mini-hospital. She was a veterinarian, but seemed to know what she was doing as a nurse.

Hope you are coming back Deb before the Nor'easter that's supposed to be headed our way tomorrow.

howdy all, did an old firm cardio today. 40 min. super cardio sculpt. should have done 2 cuz i had dump cake at lunch today. boy, was it good!!LOL!

Thursday

Hi all,

Well I am back and had an interesting trip. Got a UTI ( or better know as a bladder infection) on Sunday after being there a while, and ended up taking a cab to a local hospital emergency room. They were super busy and I did not get out of there until 1:30 am. So I am exhausted, looking forward to hitting the wonderful bed they have at the hotel, hoping the meds kick in soon, and what do we run into? a traffic jam, at 1:30 in the morning~ sheesh......the cab driver was pretty mad too. It was construction that they do in the middle of the night there, to avoid day time traffic jams I guess. Of course I couldn't sleep after that fiasco. Needless to say, getting to bed at 2:30, and having to be at a meeting at 8:30 with hardly any sleep was not good.

No workouts done in the gym there, I kept on trying to catch up with sleep.

Joan, good for you for getting that return done early! :D

Cathy, you are a pro now on the Cathe site..

Garance, my favorite restaurant ( fance type) is where we go for our anniversary. I had filet and crab legs Saturday night, plus dessert, appetizers, etc etc. I was able to watch DWTS there live since there was nothing else to do. Glad that fighter guy got voted off. We did go to Capital Hill yesterday and yak at some senators...well not the senators themselves ( are you kidding me?), but their staffers..

Josie, it has to be pretty scary there, if it isn't fires, it's mudslides. oh, my.

Off to work, client visit today and in Canada tomorrow.

Have a good one!

Hi Deb, Josie, Joan, and Cathy--

This morning I did Physique 57, 30 min. legs and abs followed by 2 miles with Leslie (30 min.).

Welcome back, Deb! I agree with you on DWTS, although that skateboarder kid just seemed to walk through the Texas 2-step. The lambada seems to be getting pretty close to obscene for primetime TV. Boy, what a rough way to begin your stay in Washington. D.C.! Hope you are all better now and you managed to get those Senate staffers to do your bidding.

It is shivery cold here today, although DH does not think the Nor'easter will reach us with any punch left in it. Something about a front from Canada forcing it east. My own personal weatherman.

Joan, how is your mom doing? Is she feeling anxious about yet another surgery?

Hi to Josie and Cathy!

Hi Ladies,

I think that I'm coming down with a cold. I don't know if I should wo today, I will just have to wait and see how I feel by the end of my work day. I also have to go to a Gala tomorrow and I'm not looking forward to that.

Deb, sorry you had such a bad trip. It never fails that something will go wrong when you are away from home.

Here is the web-site for the Aids Life Cycle and the letter that I sent to friends and family:
http://www.tofighthiv.org/site/TRGiftForm?fr_id=1220&px=2258141
Dear Friends and Family:

I’m riding to end AIDS

From June 6-12, 2010, I’m bicycling in AIDS/LifeCycle. It’s a 7 day, 545-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles to make a world of difference in the lives of people living with HIV and AIDS.

I am calling on all of you to help me support this cause in order to continue to fund the wonderful programs that the San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the AIDS services of the LA. Gay & Lesbian Center provide. The budgets for both the AIDS Foundation and the Gay & Lesbian Center have been cut drastically due to our economy and they are in dyer need of our help.

As some of you know I have a brother that has been living with AIDS for the last 13 years and if it wasn’t for the wonderful programs offered by the above mentioned groups he would not be alive today. He is now living independently and is doing very well health wise.

Please help me by donating to this cause so that we can find a cure and offer support to people suffering from this terrible disease. If you would like to read more about the wonderful programs offered by the Foundation and the Gay & Lesbian centers you can go to the web-site aidslifecycle.org.

I would like to thank you in advance for your support. My goal is to raise $3,000 by June 1st, 2010.

Hi Garance, Cathy and Joan.

Finally Friday

Good Morning,

Well this has been a long week and I am glad this is the last day. I have to go to Canada today to visit a client. Hopefully the weather will stay ok for driving. It's raining here, and very cold.

Garance, you are right about the snow boarder kid, he was terrible. I think he has given up. Either he or the football player should be next to go.

Josie, hope you feel better before the weekend!

Cathy, who puts out the CAWT workout? is it a Firm one? ARe you in the show on Saturday? What types of things do you do? I have never seen a horse show before.

Joan, how are you doing? How is your Mom?

Tomorrow we are doing the interrment of my Dad's cremains. It will be a sad day. Hopefully Sunday will be better, I plan on getting back into working out, and we have a BBQ event with our dog club in the afternoon.

Have a good one!
