Good morning.

Today I did Jane Adams Gentle Yoga for 18 minutes.

Cathy, nice job with Live Cardio Crush and Live Bands, Loops, and Weights, Oh My.

Judy, great job with the Peloton workouts and Peloton rides. It’s wonderful that Peloton offers such a variety of options.

Valerie, nice job with your road ride and upper body work.

Hello to Shannon.

Good morning, ladies. Going back to Friday, I did my light treadmill walking and upper body intervals. It ended up being a better workout than I expected. Saturday I took care of all my weekend stuff, as usual, and stretched in the evening. Sunday was my rest day. I thought about doing today’s workout yesterday, since I may not be able to fit it in today. But I flat out didn’t feel like it.

Valerie – wow, that’s crazy about getting shocked on your treadmill! I like a slight incline better than totally flat too. Unless you’re walking in a store, I doubt anybody walks on totally flat ground anyhow. So a bit of an incline feels more natural to me. Thanks for the tip about the lidocaine patches. I passed that on to my sister. I’m glad riding helps your hip, so you’re getting double benefits – cardio and relief from pain.

Carolyn – I’m glad you made it through the storm with no major damage. Good work on the JS workout and chair yoga. And thanks for the encouragement.

Cathy – Ugh, dang internet. Maybe a stretch was just what you needed anyway, LOL. I envy you your 70-degree days. It’s still in the 90s down here, and we are all tired of it.

Judy – thanks for the info about sciatica. I sent the link and your info to my sister. You are rocking the workouts! Great job!

Well, I guess I’d better get to work. It’s Monday. It would be nice if I was old enough to retire.

Shannon it was weird. the shock only happened once, after i ran for a couple minutes. it was a visible spark if i touched the hand rails. we only had 2 treadmills, didnt know it was that odd. they exchanged the treadmill and we got a fancier one than we needed. weve used it regularly but neither of us were running that much anymore. we walk on it now but its way overkill with special features. i prefer walking outside to indoor and that is not flat.

took rest day sunday.

there is a roll on lidocaine liquid but i think patches work better. they come in different sizes. i use them regularly and they help. they need to stay in place and not peel off where you want them so some areas are easier than others.

Today I did ICE Low Impact Sweat one, 29 minutes, 164 calories burned, average heart rate 123, and maximum heart rate 149.

Shannon, nice job with the light treadmill walking, upper body intervals, and stretching.

Hello to Valerie, Judy, and Cathy.

Yesterday I did Gloved Up and Sweaty and LMR2 Balance Fusion. Today I did STS2 Total Body Stretch. We were 80 today, same for tomorrow and then back to 60’s. Last night Flopsy threw upon my bed, went to wash stuff and discovered the washer isn’t working. Don’t you love it when something works fine and the next time it doesn’t. Taking some things to my parents tomorrow, service person coming Thursday.

I did my new cardio & legs interval workout. It sounds like a Cathe workout, doesn't it? But it's definitely not. It was boring, but at least it was a workout. I had to cut it short because I had to work a bit of overtime.

Valerie - I prefer to walk outside too. But as you know, that's a thing of the past.

Carolyn - Nice job with Low Impact Sweat. I miss that one!

Cathy - My phone forecast claims that we have some lows in the 40s coming. Fingers crossed!! Ah man, that's rough about the washer. Very, very bad timing since cat puke is involved.

not a good situation cathy!. cat barf is kind of special, isnt it?? appliances are so miserable to fix now. all the electronics are great when they work but its hardly ever a loose washer or something simple. hope yours is fixable. i love both my washer now. its a top loading no agitator one. i am not a fan of the front loaders. hopefully you wont need to make that choice and its simple fix.

i did a half hour walk around our yard yesterday and a half hour of ab work and stretching.

got the shot in my back today, this morning. it was not pleasant but went pretty fast. this is just to locate the nerve source of the discomfort. unfortunately it didn't help at all. if anything it made it more irritated. usually i sit down more when it gets irritated but i stayed walking today. i have a video appt with him next week and see what the next step might be. I walked a lot, my usual uphill/downhill in our yard for half an hour and made a point of extra walking and standing. im pretty achy now. going to put on an ice pack. did two sets of back exercises and stretches already. im really disappointed. i was optimistic this would help but no.

This morning I did ICE Chiseled Upper Body, 42 minutes, 131 calories burned, average heart rate 107, and maximum heart rate 135. I’m already feeling it in my shoulders and upper back! There was a very tragic accident at Six Flags here yesterday. A person was killed and several others injured while riding the Goliath roller coaster. I don’t understand how someone can be thrown from a ride that is 200 feet above ground!

Cathy, great job with Gloved Up and Sweaty, LMR2 Balance Fusion, and STS 2 Total Stretch. I’m sorry about the washer. I hope it can be repaired.

Shannon, nice job with your cardio and legs intervals.

Valerie, nice job with the half hour walk, Ab work, and stretching.

Hello to Judy.

Monday I did a 45-minute Peloton Walk and yesterday I did a 20-minute Peloton Strength workout and 25 minutes of Peloton rides. Today was a rest day.

Carolyn-Great job with Jane Adams Gentle Yoga, ICE Low Impact Sweat one and ICE Chiseled Upper Body. That accident was very tragic. I don’t understand how it could happen either.

Shannon-Great job with the light treadmill walking, upper body intervals, and your new cardio & legs interval workout. That does sound like a Cathe workout!

Cathy- Great job with Gloved Up and Sweaty, LMR2 Balance Fusion and STS2 Total Body Stretch. It got up to 84 here today. I’m sorry about your washing machine not working.

Valerie-Great job with your walk, ab work and stretching. I’m really sorry that the shot didn’t work as you wanted it to.

Good morning, ladies. Yesterday I did my light treadmill and upper body intervals workout. TM/back, TM/Chest, TM/biceps, TM, triceps, TM/shoulders, TM/one of each for a total of an hour. Then I did about seven minutes of abs. It was better than Monday's workout, in part because Pandora played better music, LOL.

Valerie - I'm really sorry the shot didn't help. I hope your doctor can figure out a way to get you some relief.

Carolyn - Good work on Chiseled Upper Body. Yes, I heard about the Six Flags accident. That's just awful.

Judy - Great job on your Peloton workouts.

Hi to Cathy.

This morning I did KCM’s Cardio Quick Fix, workout one, 26 minutes, 168 calories burned, average heart rate 124, and maximum heart rate 167. I attended a virtual WW meeting and ran some errands.

Valerie, I’m sorry that the injection didn’t help.

Judy, great job with your Peloton workouts.

Shannon, I’m glad that your workout was better today. Great job with treadmill, upper body intervals, and abs. The right music does help make a better workout.

Hello to Cathy.

Carolyn, so am I!. it made it worse actually even though it was only an anesthetic to see if that was the spot that was bothering me. its only 24 hrs now, and its better than yesterday but not as good as before the shot. . i will not do this again.

i have 2 back braces, this is the one i use most of the time. amazon, about $26. ive used it for several years. it says for sciatica too so i thought i'd pass it along. its not complicated and velcros in the front so its easy on and off. it comes in different sizes and is comfortable.

got my immunizations this morning, flu and covid. flu is circulating early here with one death already. im not paranoid but if we decide to travel next week i wanted it taken care of. i got both at once which i usually don't do, but i wanted to get it done.

This morning I had a facial appointment and this afternoon I did a 30 minute Peloton Ride.

Shannon-Great job with your light treadmill and upper body intervals workout. That sounds really good.

Carolyn-Great job with KCM’s Cardio Quick Fix, workout one.

Valerie- Thanks for the link to the brace. I like that one too. I may order it so I have an alternate.

Hi to Cathy

the other brace i have is taller and is not as comfortable if Im going sitting/ standing/ sitting. im not even 5'1" anymore, not that i was ever more than 5'2". even if the waist is right, if its too tall its harder to sit down with it on.

Good morning. Yesterday I did my balance and stretching workout. It was nice. For balance, I mostly did the traditional standing yoga poses (think tree, half moon, the warrior poses). Even though it's not a hard, sweaty workout, I need to keep in mind that it's important and stick with it.

Carolyn - nice job with Cardio Quick Fix.

Valerie - dang, I'm sorry your back is messed up from what was supposed to fix it!

Judy - I'm sure you enjoyed your facial! Good work on the Peloton ride.

Hello to Cathy.

Lucky me awaiting the washer repair person. DH had an appointment. Slept badly so no workout, but I started working on a rotation when I get back from my sister's. At that point, I'll be done traveling until spring.

Shannon enjoy your cooler weather.

Valerie I'm really sorry the injection didn't have any benefit

shannon those flexibility and balance workouts are important too. don't minimize their importance! i spend a lot of time doing them!
it gets hard to tell if things are actually better or worse! I'm so used to my back being achy i can't remember anything else. regardless i did an upper body workout yesterday late afternoon along with my usual stretch/ab/balance things. i do tree pose a lot and also one of those inflated cushions. I got myself a little sore along with the slight soreness from the flu/covid shot.
this morning DH and i mt biked the tree farm .... he finally got his bike back. we rode 6 miles more than half uphill. going down the route is shorter. its much harder than road biking especially going up but down also. the tree farm is closed for 2 weeks and then they close the trails for the winter. we can still ride the roads which is much of what we normally do anyway. we are doing it for the cardio workout not technical skills which i seriously lack. crashed once today but not badly.

This morning I did Power Splits Lower Body, 34 minutes, 139 calories burned, average heart rate 110, and maximum heart rate 135. Then I did P 30 Extended Stretch for an additional 9 minutes.

Shannon, great job with balance and stretching. I agree with Valerie, those are very important to your overall fitness.

Valerie, great job with mountain biking the tree farm.

Hello to Judy and Cathy.

we rode the regular trail this morning with street bikes. it was 44 degrees to start, cooler than at our house and just barely ok for riding without a lot of extra layers. an hour 20 minutes. it warmed up along the way, we have not seen any fish this year.
Shannon i just read an article in NYT about how important stretching and balance are as regular workouts. they aren't hard to do them if you do them regularly. its kind of a rest day but productive. most of the PT ive done included a finisher of balance work for 5-10 minutes. it feels like a waste of time but its not.
