Pentagenarians & Beyond: November 30, 2025

This morning I opted to do the LMR Mobility Fusion. I knew I'd be shoveling and my arms were already still sore from those upper body workouts. So far I did the paved pad outside the garage. It's 6-7" and heavy, but was melting on the bottom, so once I got a couple rounds done, I could shove it across and then just deal with lifting the big piles to the side. I'll go out again later.

Valerie I hope you are able to find a foam roller that works for you.

Diane Sue, I always like the music from 80's workouts, and wish things hadn't changed and made it too expensive to use.

Judy I hope you were too affected by the snow. I still get a lot of traffic reports and all across lower MI and down at least to the middle of IN the roads were crazy bad. Really feel for people who were forced to try to go somewhere.

Hi Carolyn.

Today I did my yoga/mobility for 28 minutes.

Valerie, I hope the soft foam roller works for you.

Diane Sue, nice job with CDorner Old School Aerobics and Jessica Valant Full Body Pilates. I enjoy 80’s music. It seems just right for aerobics!

Cathy, nice job with LMR Mobility Fusion. You’ll get a big workout shoveling snow!

Judy, I hope things are going okay for you with the weather situation.

Enjoy the rest of the day everyone.

If the soft roller doesnt work, there is a super soft one too. we'll see when it gets here.

we tried a hike in mountains this morning and got in a short one. took snow gear but very little snow so didnt need it. hiked uphill for about 30 min to the end of the route, but came right back down. an hour total. way less snow than expected. there had been more but all melted. snow shoveling always counts as a serious workout, especially the heavy wet stuff. there is an obscure trail at the end of where we walked to, but we could not find it at all. its too steep to use with snow anyway. going to do my therapy work and call it a day.

Yesterday I did a 45-minute Peloton ride, 20 minutes of Arms & Light Weights and a 10-minute stretch. Today I did a 15-minute row and 20 minutes of weight work. We ended up with about 5 or 6 inches of snow, so not too bad.

Carolyn-Great job with your yoga/mobility.

Cathy-Great job with LMR Mobility Fusion. I watched some live streams from Iowa last night and the roads were horrible there.

Valerie-Great job with the hike. I hope you like the new foam roller.

Diane Sue-Great job with CDorner Old School Aerobics 80's Cardio and Jessica Valant Full Body Pilates. The 80’s workout sounds like fun.

I did STS2 Total Body Stretch this morning. Still have 2-3 rounds of shoveling to do. Because of the depth and weight of the snow it's slower going than normal. Want to finish is today as we have an inch or 2" of snow coming tonight, it's supposed to be light and fluffy though, so won't need to shovel it, but I don't want to have it added to what we have already. Looking like if may be Friday before I get to my parents. They have more than we do, schools there are closed, but none here are so they must have had time to plow the backroads. A real plus that it was too heavy to drift. That much lighter snow and we'd be days from when things could function normally.

Valerie I'd be happy to send you some snow, but sadly I don't have magical powers. I could do so much with magical powers. LOL

tee hee thanks so much cathy! we will likely catch up soon. this week looks wet and colder. plenty of precip has fallen but its been a little warmer than usual, but more to come. driving here was ok even over all the passes. north cascades is highest and usually closes nov 17 but its still open. biggest casualty is ski areas that hoped to open over the weekend. we wont get worried until later December. really bad timing for all of you with so much travel trying to happen. our snow is usually heavy like that, right around 32 degrees. awful to snowblow or shovel. and it freezes to every surface so it wont even scrape off.

i haven't complained about my sister lately. i blocked incoming calls for about 2 months. i wrote her a letter via USPS saying she could contact me by mail since she wants to communicate like its 1960. she then was pestering a cousin who lives closer. cousin and I compare notes on the latest bits of stupidity. cousin decided she cant take anymore so i had to unblock her number. i send calls to vm. i cant figure out a way to do that automatically. so she called 5x in a row yesterday a long litany of complaints about everything from weather to the socks i got her dont fit because she has flat feet.... the container of kitty litter was too heavy...20 lbs...??? endless. so no comment necessary but she can deal with the mess she has created and refuses to change.

Today I did KCM’s Cardio Fit, All Cardio no dumbbells. That was 35 minutes, 256 calories burned, average heart rate 140, and maximum heart rate 165.

Valerie, nice job with the hike in the mountains.

Judy, great to with Peloton ride, Arms & Light weights, stretch, rowing, and weight work.

Cathy, nice job with STS 2 Total Body Stretch.

Hello to Diane Sue.

Yesterday I did a 45-minute Peloton ride. Today we are working on a few projects at home so it may be an active rest day.

Cathy-Great job with STS2 Total Body Stretch and all of the shoveling. That is hard work.

Carolyn-Great job with KCM’s Cardio Fit, All Cardio no dumbbells.

Hi to Valerie & Diane Sue

Today I did a timesaver from LMR Functional Upper Body. That was 42 minutes, 90 calories burned, average heart rate 100, and maximum heart rate 139. My youngest brother is coming by this afternoon. I’m looking forward to seeing him since it’s been a while.

Judy, nice job with the 45 minute Peloton ride.

Hello to Cathy, Valerie, and Diane Sue.

walked the local park today for 1 hr 20 min and then grocery shopped. there was some sort of trail repair going on so it was a little longer than usual. our deck project is coming along nicely. yesterday i did stacked upper body later in the day.
carolyn hope you have a good visit with your brother.

This morning I did LMR Lower Body. Hoping to get to my parents Friday. I could probably go tomorrow, but not feeling like it. My Dad wants me to help him set it up so he can have his shopping delivered. Somehow he always manages to forget passwords, or mess something up, so I'll be making extensive notes so that if there's an issue, I can help figure it out.

Fortunately, the schools where my parents lived were all closed, none here were, so the kid who mows their lawn went over and cleaned off the ramp and driveway. Would be great if he keeps doing it, but from comments my Dad made, anytime they have less snow and it's lighter, he's going to try to do it himself.

Valerie I'm glad your drive went well. A lot of the ski resorts here have specific opening dates, so only a few are open, but more will be by the end of the week. They've certainly got a good base already and it's going to stay cold for a couple weeks.

Carolyn enjoy your time with your brother.

Hi Judy and Diane Sue.

Yesterday I did Caroline Jordan Level 3 bone strength 25 minutes, 78 calories, heart rate 89/128. I followed this with LMR Functional Upper Body Timesaver #1 + the upper body balance disc bonus, 54 minutes, 161 calories, heart rate 93/132. 79 minutes total, 239 calories. It was below freezing yesterday. It was not so pleasant having to bundle up with layers and gloves because my dog needed to go out. He doesn't care, he wants to play.

Today I did CDorner Low Impact "Great Music" Old School Cardio, 32 minutes, 212 calories. I followed with mobility moves and stretches from a book I got called Built From Broken: A Science Based Guide to Healing Painful Joints, Preventing Injuries, and Rebuilding Your Body. I spent 47 minutes, 94 calories with the mobility.
Total time 79 minutes, 306 calories.

Judy, nice job on the 45 minute Peloton ride yesterday. It seems there is always some projects needed done.

Carolyn, good job on KCM Cardio Fit All Cardio yesterday and todays LMR Upper Body Timesaver. I liked Timesaver #1 as it skipped a lot of the moves I would have adjusted.

Cathy, nice work on the Total Body Stretch after shoveling snow yesterday and this morning's LMR lower body. That would be nice for your dad to have shopping items delivered. I rarely go to a store anymore. It is a headache though when items are missing or delivered to someone else. I always worry when I see the driver has several stops to make.

Valerie, nice that you got out for a long walk at the park today. It sounds like your sister gets ridiculous. I thought the flat feet and socks complaint was rather funny. You would think she would realize how rude she is behaving when wanting help.

Today I did KCM’s Cardio Quick Fix, workout one, 26 minutes, 173 calories burned, average heart rate 133, and maximum heart rate 151. I had a nice visit with my brother. He helped me set up the Christmas tree and provided needed support for me with my husband’s care. My family is just starting to realize how much my husband health has deteriorated over the past year.

Valerie, great job with walking in the local park.

Cathy, great job with LMR Lower Body. It will be a relief for your father to have groceries delivered.

Diane Sue, great job with Caroline Jordan Bone Strength, LMR Upper Body timesaver + balance disc bonus, CDorner Low Impact Low Impact Old School Cardio, and stretching.

Hello to Judy.

probably taking the day off today. DH had an oral surgery this morning. it went fine and he didn't need sedation he thought he would need. still, its hard on both of us. i need to get some meds for him as soon as the pharmacy contacts us.
the deck project continues. all the crew trucks are parked all over with their supplies and tools. 4 to 8 guys working here on different parts of this project. one part will probably need to be delayed because the weather will be too cold and wet to do it. we need a few dry days in a row and right now that isnt on the forecast. its not the main deck but a small section in another area. not really complaining but it makes small things a lot more difficult. I thought DH would be sedated and would be hard to get from the car to the house, but it didn't turn out that way. puss is underfoot every second. he doesn't spend a lot of time outdoors but he is bored and gets into everything.

Carolyn that is very hard to deal with. chronic things that get worse despite doing everything possible you can do.

This morning I did Low Max Step Combos.

Carolyn I'm glad your brother was able to help you out.

Valerie that's good that your DH didn't need sedation.

Diane Sue, I just hope once we set my Dad up to get things delivered that he doesn't have too many issues with the orders. We'll also have to put in something about their address because Google thinks it's the place across the street. Maps and manufactured home parks are a real mess.

Hi Judy.

Today I did LMR Lower Body Timesaver #1 no step (also skips standing band work), 45 minutes, 143 calories. That was it for me. I was short on time. I did add a bit more stretching.

Carolyn, nice work on KCM Cardio Quick Fix workout #1. That is kind of your brother seeing your need for help. I am sorry your husband's health has declined so much.

Valerie, I was wondering how weather would affect your deck project. I hope it does not get too bad and delay things.

Today I did a 30 minute Peloton Upper Body workout, 5 minutes of core and 10 minutes of stretching.

Carolyn-Great job with the LMR Functional Upper Body timesaver and KCM’s Cardio Quick Fix, workout one. I’m glad your brother was able to help. I am very sorry about your husband’s health.

Valerie-Great job with your park walk. I’m glad your husband’s oral surgery went well.

Diane Sue-Great job with Caroline Jordan Level 3 bone strength, LMR Functional Upper Body Timesaver with upper body balance disc bonus, CDorner Low Impact Cardio and the LMR Lower Body Timesaver. I have the “Built From Broken” book too. I haven’t had a chance to go through it yet but I’m sure I will soon. It looked like something that would really be helpful for me.

Cathy-Great job with LMR Lower Body and the Low Max Step Combos.

i got the soft foam roller. i thought it would work. DH took one look at what i was doing and said it was dangerous to my back fusion. sigh.... cant win here! i will hold on to it until i see PT next week. it is a lot softer and feels ok.
its raining and looks like it will rain forever. indoor things for the week most likely.

diane sue, that is totally right. the dumbest things become a big deal. i am unsure what plain old crew socks have to do with her feet.

i need to take a look at that book and see if it might be useful.

got in a 25 min spin and several PT sessions. it doesn't rain heavily but it rains for a long time. on and off for days. they are finishing up on the deck in the morning, as much as can be done now. when weather dries out they will come back and do the last things. we agree that they have to wait for a drier stretch.
