Pentagenarians & Beyond: November 23, 2025

Happy Turkey Day everyone!. we are having quiet day ourselves.
our deck is walkable now. no railings and some open spots but its going along well and looks great. its so nice realizing we will never have to stain it. got to dread that job especially the one million wood spindles on the railings. every other year .

Cathy hopefully your brother does better after his injections. they are not pleasant in my personal experience.
 
Happy Thanksgiving! I put pie together this morning and then did LMR Functional Barre this morning. That was 51 minutes, 200 calories. My husband had leftover turkey from Sunday. I do not care for turkey but made turkey pot pie out of some of it with some chicken bone broth I made and had frozen.

Cathy, good job on CL Low Impact Hiit with active recovery and LMR2 Upper Body Back, Biceps, and Shoulders. I did not go near Cathe's weights when I did that one. Purple is a favorite color of mine. I guess we are spoiled after having no commercials. I think the ones on Youtube are just way too long and interrupt too many times. I need to check how much Youtube costs to get rid of ads. I just am tired of tracking auto payments all over the place. That is sad that your brother's health is causing him so much worry.

Valerie, that is nice the deck is walkable now. My husband and I have always done projects ourselves but lately they get put off. We bought paint to do the garage trim and doors since the paint was wearing off. Then we were both dreading the task. My husband found someone to do it at a good price. Enjoy your relaxing day today.

Tuesday I did a 45-minute treadmill walk. Yesterday I did LMR Functional Pilates Fusion and the Lower Body Foam Rolling Bonus and today I did a 30-minute Peloton ride, a 10 min row and 10 minutes of stretching.

Valerie-Great job with the treadmill fast walking and therapy work.

Carolyn-Great job with Stacked Sets Upper Body and KCM’s Cardio Quick Fix, workout one.

Diane Sue-Great job with the CDorner, Caroline Jordan and Jessica Valant workouts, Gloved Up & Sweaty and LMR Functional Barre.

Cathy- Great job with Live Low Impact Hiit with Active Recovery and the bonus LMR Upper Body workout. We didn’t get any accumulating snow today but we are getting 2-4 inches on Saturday, maybe more.

I did a mt bike around the neighborhood this afternoon. 5 miles 45 minutes. we'd planned to walk but it was raining a lot. also therapy work and some more ab work. trying tomorrow for the walk.

we stained some lumber that will get used for the ceiling on a covered section of the deck. we love to do projects ourselves but this is way too big and needed too many people and equipment, plus knowing how to do it efficiently. thi is a really great crew who work together well. it would have taken DH and I at least 6 months to do this. they had to walk around on the joists 20 feet in the air for days. I wish I were young enough to do it but im not.
 
Today I did Step, Jump and Pump combs and the second LMR2 upper body workout. I did at least get to use the same weight at Cathe for some of shoulders. We are in a lull today between snow storms, though if the second is like the first we won't have much impacted. Our road never even got covered though the yard did, as it was still to warm for it to stick.

Diane Sue I had commercial free YouTube for awhile because I had a promotion when I got a new phone and I loved it, but cancelled before paying because it was more than I wanted to pay and it's since gone up again. But, if I had extra money sitting around, that's one that I would absolutely get because I use YouTube quite a bit.

Valerie that's great that your deck is progressing well.

Judy I hope you don't get impacted by the coming snow. I still follow a lot of things from when the boys were at NMU and it's crazy up north. Saw multiple videos of white outs near Grayling, my nemesis. They are getting more so everyone is trying to figure out timing and best routes. I miss having reasons to go up there, but not in those situations.

Carolyn I hope you had an enjoyable Thanksgiving.
 
This morning I did Stacked Sets Lower Body for 25 minutes and 120 calories burned, average heart rate 121, and maximum heart rate 152. We had a very quiet day yesterday since it was just the two of us, but I did cook a small turkey. It was cheaper than the turkey breast that I was going to make. We love turkey so it won’t go to waste.

Valerie, I’m glad that you are happy with the deck work that you are having done. Great job with biking, therapy work, and Abs.

Diane Sue, great job with LMR Functional Barre. Turkey pot pie is a good idea for leftovers. I just put the turkey carcass in the stock put to make a good rich broth. I will freeze it for later.

Judy, nice workouts this week with treadmill walk, LMR Pilates and foam rolling, Peloton ride, row, and stretching.

Cathy, great job with Step, Jump and Pump combos and LMR 2 Upper Body.

got our walk done this morning, completely different weather. sunny, warm and springlike. our usual 3 miles plus/minus. 1 hr 15 minutes. we missed seeing some orcas who were playing near the shore . other people saw them but we missed it. Boo!! the trail is on a bluff above the sound, but lot of it is blocked by trees.
we have 3 different but related projects the contractor is doing. there is a small deck above the main one, and another is a landing and stairway on another part of the house.

we did a small turkey roast yesterday. i will make turkey soup from the leftovers. i like pot pie too. i have therapy later today so just a rerun of yesterdays dinner tonight.
 
Today was a rest day, I did a 10 minute core workout, 30 minutes of restorative yoga and some pt work. We went out and ran some errands this morning since we plan on staying home tomorrow and Sunday due to the incoming weather.

Cathy-Great job with the Step, Jump and Pump combos and the second LMR2 upper body workout.
I hope the weather doesn't cause you any problems.

Diane Sue-I'm paying $22.99 a month for YouTube premium family plan. I think it's $13.99 a month for an individual plan.

Valerie-Great job with your mountain bike ride and walk.

Today I did CDorner Fast Basic Step 36 minutes, 224 calories followed with 11 minutes of mobility, 58 calories. Total time 47 minutes, 282 calories.
