Pentagenarians & Beyond: June 7, 2026

This morning I did Jane Adams Gentle Yoga for 18 minutes. Saturday I spent most of the day working on various estate issues for husband and daughter.

Cathy, great job with 4 DS High Intensity Step and Restorative yoga, STS 2 Body Parts Back and Biceps, no repeats, and STS 2 Body Parts Chest and Triceps, no repeats. I hope you can get your father to update his POA and let you help to organize his affairs.

Valerie, I’m glad that you had a good drive home. It’s not surprising that you’re still tired.

Judy, great job with Live Upper Body Power Sculpt Express, Peloton outdoor walk, and PT work.

Hello to Diane Sue.

Today I did a 45-minute Peloton Outdoor Walk and a 15-minute stretch.

Cathy-Great job with STS2 Body Parts Chest and Triceps No Repeats.

Carolyn-Great job with Jane Adams Gentle Yoga.

Hi to Valerie & Diane Sue

did a little garden work and walking today along with some shopping. and my usual stretches. still feeling tired. planned to ride today but the rain kept up on and off so i decided to go get our trail cams that we havent looked at in 6 weeks. we saw the usual parade of local cats, raccoons, possums, coyotes and deer, one with a new spotted fawn. rabbits, squirrels. and then out of the blue there was an otter. we are not on a lake or even a pond. there is a river far below but its a cliff or close to a cliff between us and the river. but there he was on the trail cam, walking along in the odd humpy way otters do, in the middle of the night. we have a wildlife biologist friend and she said they have home ranges of about 2 miles so its not impossible. no idea what he is doing up here. maybe he decided to eat chicken instead of fish? I almost cant believe the interesting things Ive seen in the last year right in the neighborhood!.

tomorrow will be drier so we will probably ride in the morning.

Today I did P30 Low Impact HiiT, 31 minutes, 162 calories burned, average heart rate 119, and maximum heart rate 140.

Judy, nice job with the 45 minute Peloton outdoor walk and 15 minute stretch.

Valerie, nice job with gardening and walking. You have very interesting wildlife sightings.

Hello to Cathy and Diane Sue.

good morning. we rode the trail this morning for 1 hr 23 minutes. this is such a nice ride now that most of the crowds have gone back to work. it still can get busy but usually weekdays are not busy. no unusual animals today, just a few deer and rabbits.

Today I did LMR Functional Upper Body, 39 minutes, 107 calories burned, average heart rate 107, and maximum heart rate 135. I’m still avoiding exercises that put pressure on my wrist like push ups.

Valerie, I’m glad that you had a nice trail ride without a crowd of people.

Hello to Cathy, Judy, and Diane Sue.

Yesterday I did a 20-minute Peloton Ride and another 15 minutes of easy riding, watching YouTube.

Today I did Live #350, Hip Hip Hooray It’s PHA! (34 minutes) and #428 Core Strength Express (20 minutes). I loved the PHA workout and it’s one I will definitely be doing again. I’m still dealing with my hip and shoulder issues, slowly getting back into weight workouts and this was perfect for me. The only thing I really had to modify were the pushups and I just did one of my PT exercises (bird dogs) instead. The core workout was a nice combination of floor work and some standing cardio work.

Valerie-Great job with the gardening, walking, and trail ride.

Carolyn-Great job with P30 Low Impact HiiT, and LMR Functional Upper Body. I am avoiding push ups too, due to my right shoulder.

Hi to Cathy & Diane Sue

Today I did CDorner Cardio 70's & 80's 30 minutes, 210 calories, heart rate 137/167, 30 minutes, and Lauren Upper Body 1 dumbbell 10#, 23 minutes, heart rate 116/144, 127 calories. Total time 53 minutes, 337 calories. We put offers on two different homes and someone else got them. Looking for houses is discouraging. Family time this weekend. Next week I get my second infusion. I sure hope it starts making a difference. My knee has been really bothering me so no lower body.

Judy, good job on Hip Hip Hooray PHA and Core Strength today. It takes so long to get back to normal again. I sub bird dogs a lot for the push ups.

Carolyn, nice work on LMR Functional Upper Body.

Valerie, that is nice that you got in a trail ride without a lot of others around.

Today I did STS2 Body Parts Shoulders No Repeats and STS2 Mobility 2.

Valerie I'd like to put a cam on our back porch just to see what the cats do at night. LOL My sister gets lots of things on their house cameras. Though personally, I could do without bear walking across my driveway!

Diane Sue buying houses is so much more complicated these days. I've bought two. The first on my own and I just used the sellers agent. She was annoyed with him, and helped me a lot. Then we bought this place from my parents so no agent, just a title company. I hope you get something soon.

Judy I like both of those lives a lot.

Hi Carolyn.

ha ha cathy... we found out the cats do nothing. they walk around, sniff things and do little else. its like they patrol their territory and any trespassers stroll thru only when the resident cat isnt there. there is a lot of cat traffic but i don't think we have ever seen two cats at once. they all keep their distance. everything else does too. except for groups, like a family of raccoons or possums.

it rained most of the day today and the time it didnt rain we were getting the tire pressure sensor fixed.

i did 1/2 of stacked upper body today along with a 10-15 min spin to warm up. I havent done any weights in a while so i backed off on extra weight and extra reps. Im pretty much of a slacker lately on weights.

Today I did a 40-minute walk and 20 minutes of pt work and stretching.

Diane Sue- Great job with CDorner Cardio and Lauren Upper Body 1 dumbbell. I’m sorry about the houses. I hope you find something soon. I agree, it takes so long to get back to normal after an injury. This is the first week that I’ve felt close to normal since October.

Cathy-Great job with STS2 Body Parts Shoulders No Repeats and STS2 Mobility 2.

Valerie-Great job with stacked sets upper body and the spin.

Hi to Carolyn

had a cardiology appt today that went really well. for years Ive been told i was having occasional atrial fib. not a lot but enough to eventually need a surgical procedure to deal with it, or be anticoagulated. i didnt want to do either,. I was mystified because I am very very sensitive to changes in my heart rate and i never ever felt an arrhythmia. Ive had the new pacer for a little over a year now and i have had zero, zip , none, episodes of AF. turns out the older pacer was mis-reading the rhythm. the new pacer records my rhythms as normal. I dont understand the exact details of why it was misreading but its been long enough. Happy!!!

I would not want to be looking for a house right now. the market here in the PNW is very slow and has been for a while. people are nervous about the economy, inflation and this idiotic war. AI is threatening a lot of jobs now. it makes people pull back and stay safe with what they have & not be adventurous and job hop or move. things can slow down in a hurry.

it sure seems like the older you are, the longer recovery takes. hope you continue to improve Judy.

Yesterday I did KCM’s Cardio Quick Fix, workout one, 26 minutes, 164 calories burned, average heart rate 125, and maximum heart rate 144. Today I was not able to work out. I had an early appointment that took all morning.

Judy, great job with Peloton rides, Live Hip Hip Hooray, walking PT, and stretching. I’m sorry that you are still dealing with hip and shoulder issues. It seems take longer for our bodies to heal these days.

Diane Sue, great job with CDorner Cardio and Lauren Upper Body. I hope that you can find a house soon.

Cathy, good job with STS Body Parts Shoulders and STS 2 Mobility 2.

Valerie, nice job with doing half of Stacked Sets Upper Body. That’s great that your new pacemaker is working so well.

Today I did a 45-minute Peloton Ride and my PT work.

Valerie-I’m glad that your new pacemaker is working so well.

Carolyn-Great job with KCM’s Cardio Quick Fix, workout one.

Hi to Diane Sue and Cathy

We did a walk/hike at the state park near here this morning, for 1 hr 23 minutes. it was lovely out and not that busy. school is still going most places here so then things will pick up. Saw a bald eagle up close and lots of smaller birds flitting around.

its a very odd feeling. my old pacemaker was quite old when it got replaced and technology has changed a lot in the last 15+ years. I had it for 15 years, and it must have been desighned and manufactured several years before that. Im really glad I didnt get any "fixes" done since I have no AF that needs fixing.

we did our regular trail ride this morning, 1 hr 23 minutes, exact same time as the walk yesterday. again, a lovely morning. summer here is usually pretty nice. if it gets hot ( 80 or above) its usually low humidity so its not bad.

This morning I did a timesaver from Stacked Sets Lower Body. That was 26 minutes, 134 calories burned, average heart rate 122, and maximum heart rate 153.

Judy, nice job with the 45 minute Peloton ride and PT.

Valerie, good job with your trail ride.

Hello to Cathy and Diane Sue.

Been a busy few days. Wednesday I did the zoo and went to my parents. Yesterday I did STS2 Body Parts Legs No Repeats and then shopped. Today DH and I went to Toledo to the zoo. When Derek comes home he wants to go to Detroit to the zoo and DH mentioned going. I really don't think he should. He makes bad decisions. Didn't take his Motrin into the zoo or take it before we went in and his feet bother him a lot. So, for me it was a sauntering pace with a fair amount of sitting on benches. And he burns easily so instead of just using sunscreen he wears long pants and long sleeve shirt, so then he gets too hot and it was only around 80 today. Derek will be here the first week of August when it's likely to be hotter. But, DH tends to have a short memory. Fun times. LOL
