Judy its always nice when things come back on sooner than expected. must be rough without the AC.
Cathy we have never seen the cougar, only on the camera. some neighbors have seen him but rarely. he and the other animals go up and down the old road, an unofficial connecting route between paved roads. there are green belts around most of the development including a steep cliffy area above the river. we set up both trail cameras, one near the top of our lot and one halfway down. we left most of the trees and brush so its wilder than many other lots. we had no desire for acres of grass to mow! we tried cameras in other places but never got anything. this is the animal highway! all the cats use it as do the deer, otters, raccoons, rabbits, coyotes, bobcats, the bear. on camera we see them sniffing and following the pathway. they travel without being in the open usually at night. we can 4WD a vehicle up and down it but its not really much of a road anymore. i walk up and down it when i am using our lot for exercise. there is quite big drop in elevation so its work if i do it several times.
today we did a park walk early for 1 hr 15 minutes. there are some marshy spots and the mosquitos are out so we went fast!
Last night was way less disruptive. i do not see what thrill people get out of making noisy explosions. there was some last night but not for long.
