Pentagenarians & Beyond: February 8, 2026

Today I did LMR2 Low Impact Cardio Fusion. I liked this one a lot, but felt it was about a round too short. I may mix it with something. Then I did LMR2 Total Body Metabolic Strength, which I had done before as I'm pretty sure it was one of the preorder bonuses, but they just show up in the apps as part of the series. This one is HARD for me. Mainly because my hands are too small to hold a dumbbell at both ends and lift it above my waist. So when doing front raises or triceps behind the head, I have to back off to 15's for safety. Heading to my parents in a bit.

Valerie I had to laugh at "DH acts as if we drive off the main road we will drive off the edge of the earth where there be dragons." That is so my husband. And heaven forbid you miss a turn or an exit, the world will surely end. I rarely ever make a long drive in unfamiliar places without at least one oops. Even with GPS because sometimes the cues are too late. Even when Derek is with me it has happened, and he'll be like - you should have turned there. LOL

Judy looking forward to hearing how you like the PHA workout, as I won't be doing that one for a bit.

Carolyn I hope you are surrounded by a good support system. Hugs.

Hi Diane Sue.

Yesterday, I did Lauren's Energizing Interval walking 24 minutes, 125 calories, heart rate 115/165 heart rate, 2,141 step and Power Pilates 35 minutes 88 calories. 59 minutes, 213 calories, 2,255 steps total. I used the pilates setting on my Garmin and I bet the calorie burn would have been more just using cardio. No workout today. I have a busy week next week. We have a house showing today. This is their second visit.

omg Cathy, they are so similar! DH and I grew up with maps but i do pretty well with phone apps now. road cues in "developed' are not always exactly right and side roads? those little apps may not even have that road visible without zooming way up and then you cant see if they go where you think you want to get to. . this was not a marked detour! somehow, I always get back home or to the hotel. its not like you'll be thrown into a bottomless pit ( dragons again) if you miss a turn and have to backtrack a little. sigh....men!!

we walked the same park again this morning. an hr 20 minutes. did one set of stretches and will do another later. I'm kind of missing that I didnt get this set of workouts but I have several already that work for me.

diane sue thats good news for an offer if they are back for a second look.

My DVD's were supposed to arrive Saturday, got marked delivered, but were not in the box. Then yesterday I got a notice that they would come today. So, the delivery person, scanned them as delivered and then didn't put them in the box! Crazy. This morning I did the LMR2 Mobility workout. I think maybe my expectations were too high. It's long and thorough, but it didn't challenge me. I realize I'm more flexible than the average person, but was just hoping for something more. And a couple parts were for me repetitive and boring, but then that's how I feel about the sun salutation in some of the early workouts. I'll try the flexibility one in a few days and may consider doing a mix of the two workouts.

Valerie people in the upper peninsula lists tell people planning to sight see up there to not trust GPS if they are going off main roads. You can end up going down a two track that dead ends and if you are in anything bigger than a car may not be able to turn around. Back in the 80's my boyfriend and I went up to Cooper Harbor in his small Mazda. And he decided we should drive out toward the end of the peninsula. Holes so deep in the road that my head almost hit the ceiling with my seat belt on, drove across a bridge that was one plank under each side of the car, that was over a small river that was moving along pretty good. Finally came to an area with a LOT of water of the road and convinced him to turn around. LOL But, we did see a turtle laying eggs in the middle of the road and a black bear with two cubs. I had visions of us being stuck out there overnight with no food or water, and since then I have rarely ever gone anywhere without both in the car. I'll even take my water if I'm just running in town to the bank and only going to be gone 20-25 minutes!

Diane Sue a second showing sounds promising. I hope they make an offer.

It wasnt that long ago when we were driving to MT and got a bad set of directions. I was looking at mileages to give some friends directions to get to our house, and up popped directions to get off the interstate and take "Trail creek road" as a shorter route. not open in winter. the rest of the year is a pot- holed gravel road that might be shorter miles but way longer in time. it never happened again. i reported it as incorrect. too many similar road names is sometimes the issue. too many Big Creek, Trail Creek, blue lake, moose lake, etc. we still use road atlases, forest service maps. GPS is unreliable. we do the same. water, snack food, hat, gloves, shovel stashed in with the jack. new cars sometimes dont have a jack and act like you can use that Run Flat spray or call AAA everywhere. no, neither works everywhere. theres a story every year about someone blindly following GPS and driving off into deep snow and getting stuck. I love gPS in the city but not so much in rural areas.

im happy to say the home team won and we got some fireworks after but not bad at all.

Yesterday was a rest day. Today I did LMR2 PHA Cardio Fusion. I really liked it. It’s definitely more of a cardio-metabolic workout and it went very fast. It felt like a very efficient workout at only 35 minutes, which includes a bonus core session and stretch after the main workout. I can see doing this one regularly, especially on days when I am short on time. I can also see combining it with another workout since it is short.

Cathy-Great job with LMR2 Low Impact Cardio Fusion, LMR2 Total Body Metabolic Strength and LMR2 Mobility. My DVDs are arriving on Thursday, hopefully.

Diane Sue-Great job with Lauren's Energizing Interval walking and Power Pilates. I hope you have good luck with selling your house.

Valerie-Great job with your walk and stretches.

Carolyn- Sending you hugs and prayers
