Pentagenarians & Beyond: August 17, 2025

Today I did STS 2 Body Parts Triceps, 38 minutes, 123 calories, heart rate 95/102. I also did STS 2 mini ball abs 11 minutes, 47 calories, heart rate 96/123. I finished with CDorner Total Body Stretch, 17 minutes, 38 calories. I had to make some adjustments on the mini ball workout.

Carolyn, nice work on JS one mile motivation and STS chair yoga.

Valerie, I hope the spinal injection helps with the inflammation. The trigger points I got were done face down with face in a hole. They helped a lot. It is other areas that are bothering me now. I will say, does not take much effort to keep it growing. I do not enjoy keeping the woody part pulled out and trimming it so it does not look ugly. I see cats in my back yard occasionally. One came out of the boxwoods the other day and flew across the yard in front of my dog. It managed to go through a low place where a knothole was gone on the bottom of the fence. We get a lot of bunnies.

Today I did My Finished Step workout, Live Core Express with Yoga Blocks and the lying stretch from SB. Loving our cool weather here. Only going to low 70's today.

Valerie I hope that the injection is helpful. Very good that your DH is doing well with his recovery.

Diane sue that describes the position well. yes, lying on your stomach with face in a cushion with an opening. I cant see what's going on which is probably good. the first times i had this done was before my back surgery. it didnt help but very briefly. like a couple days. this is the first time almost 2 years after the surgery. i wish i were more optimistic but im not. im being careful not to overwork the area. the walk yesterday was not strenuous. i wore my back brace to keep posture better.

the weather situation here is quite unpleasant. this location usually gets weather from the wes,t off the pacific. right now there is a low pressure system off the coast so the weather is moving over the mountains and downhill from the east. the air is hot to begin with and heats up as if flows downward. the hottest places are by the mountains which is opposite of what usually happens. we will be in the 90 range for about 5 days. many places will be hotter closer to 100. very high fire danger. very unpleasant. i know its summer and this happens a few times a year but i still hate it!

Today is my rest day. It’s raining and cool so I didn’t go to the market this morning.

Valerie, I’m sorry that the weather is so unpleasant. It’s all about what you are used to, but those temperatures would be unpleasant for me too.

Diane great job with Body Parts Triceps, mini ball abs, and CDorner Total Body Stretch.

Cathy, great job with your Finished Step Workout, Live Core Express with yoga blocks, and SB Lying Stretch.

Hello to Judy.

Carolyn I know I'm being a wimpy whiner but i hate being too hot. the humidity is very low too so i know discomfort index could be much much worse. the low humidity amps up the fire risk. I know many people would hate 45 degrees and drizzling but I'm fine with that. actually I like it! sigh.... nothing to do but sit inside. too hot to ride or even walk anywhere.so i did all of my therapy work and rode the spin bike for 20 minutes and did a part of stacked upper body.
