Good morning,

No workout, slept in a bit. Hopefully will get my mojo back for tomorrow.

Joan, good job on the weight loss!

Valerie, you are making me want to get High Reps now. Enabler. I may try the download route, I hope I don't get all frustrated with the technology. I think I have to go to the Apple store and buy the right cables to hook up my ipod to the TV to play the workout. We don't have Costco but we have something similar . I will put them on the list for DH to pick up. He does all the big box shopping. Actually, he does all the grocery shopping. My SIL did mention the snow they got in Seattle. She owns a pre-school and said the kids are having a ball.

Josie, are you doing all those push ups on your toes? Yikes!

Cathy, glad you stopped by. How is the new house coming along?

We are supposed to get 8-12 more inches of snow tonight...ugh....

Oh well, spring is just around the corner right? LOL

Take care,

Deb, I went to the freezer to get you the brand name on those burgers. I used the last one and don't have another box! the only place I've seen them is costco. they're not a costco "kirkland" house brand product. they come in a bright green box. I probably won't get back to costco until next week but will give you a name. they're larger than the standard "garden burger" and much more flavorful, fairly spicy even. DH won't touch them but I love them. with lettuce tomato & salsa ( chili-head that I am) they are a good lunch. I can make DH a garden burger and me a bb burger in the same pan and everyone is happy.

I didn't get to do STS TB yesterday. it snowed and we were busy with other things. we planned on going on a short vacation sat-wed and were getting things ready to go. so I did a short 10 bike/ 35 min treadmill instead.
I like High Reps cause it (seems) quick and not a bunch of weight changes. I used a bar (15 lbs) plus 10 or plus 20 and small dumbbells 5, 8, 12, 20. could have used the bar instead of the 20's.

Anyway, our trip is in doubt because now, on the coldest day of the year, it appears our furnace is tanking. too dark outside yet to see what's wrong but we won't be able to go anywhere unless this gets fixed. just paid $200 + for a annual service in Oct so no clue what is wrong. but it sounds like a jet engine when we turn it on. should be .llight enough in another hour to see what's up.

Hi Deb, Josie, Joan, Cathy, and Valerie--

This morning I did Zumba Live (54 min.).

Deb, it sounds like we are in for a bout of ugly weather starting tonight. Mixed precipitation. Rain on top of this snirt is going to be ugly.

Josie, squats with overhead press are IMO really difficult. The few times I have watched my younger son do them, I have been really impressed. I think Cathe has some on her Circuit workout, which I have not done in years, and I remember just doing the overhead press and ignoring the squat.

Cathy, I like to do the shorter Drill Max premix with the upperbody weights. It's a LONG workout all by itself.

Good luck on the furnace, Valerie! We had to replace our furnace this fall--just in time for the cold weather, too! We have a wood-burning furnace. Saves a lot of money for us.

Too funny about the furnace ....except it was costly. a large clump of snow fell out of the tree, lodged itself inside the outdoor unit. we don't run the furnace at night so it froze in place. it would have defrosted itself if we'd just let it run longer, through all the noise and vibrations. especially because we wanted to schedule our short vacation, we had a service call this morning. took about 10 minutes and really nothing was 'wrong". we've had snow many times before but never got a big frozen lump inside the unit. at least the furnace d is OK and didn't need to be replaced. expensive lesson though.

Yes Joan, congrats on weight loss progress!

Yes, I remember that most about Drillmax... how LOOONG it was. Haven't done it in a while but I sure like having a variety of workouts to pick from. Until recently I ignored premixes. don't know why... sometimes I don't pay attention enough. just stick in a disk and do it, and don't look at choices.

Squats with an overhead press? I don't think I've done those before. maybe I don't want to do them ..... would they be hard on your knees?

Good morning!

Today I did a Podrunner treadmill workout, that is all music, and it varies by speed so you are doing 3 minute and 5 minute intervals of medium to fast. You can walk, jog or run, depending on what you like. I walked. It's fun, little bells ring when it is time to change your speed.

It is snowing right now, we were supposed to get 6-12 inches over night, but it did not start until around 4:00 am so I supposed it will be snowing while driving to work ( joy) and all day.

Valerie, I like spicy stuff too, I will look for something similar in the big box store we have here, may not be the same brand but that's ok. Good that the furnace issue was really "nothing", but bad that it ruined your plans.

Garance, clip of the other workout we pre-ordered ( Splits) are up here:

I hated DrillMax, sold it on Ebay along with most of the workouts in that "Group That Had No Name".

Anyone have any exciting plans for the weekend? Keegan to Agility class tonight and tomorrow morning! He is getting better and it makes it more fun.

Take care,

Good morning,

We ended up with and inch of snow and I didn't even think it was going to be cold enough. Must have been right at 32 degrees. It's supposed to be 36 and sunny today so it should all melt. I don't see any sun yet.

wi 161.8 only lost .2lb.

Deb you're mean to put up the clip now I want it.

Joan

Got things worked out and are going skiing and won't be back until midweek. always a great workout. we usually ski for a good 6 hours every day. we get quite an appetite built up so usually it's not a weight loss vacation. too easy to have lots of good food around. I don't pig out but somehow it never burns off pounds. I will do my best to stay on my eating plan.

Deb I'll still get the brand name next time I'm at costco. a lot of times one company makes a product and labels it differently for different parts of the country.

I just realized the academy awards are sunday night and I'll miss them. drat! we're staying in a house/cabin but I don't think they have TV . and even if they have satellite usually don't carry any channel worth watching. just crap.

that clip was interesting but I definitely have enough exercise DVD's for the rest of my natural life! after we get back from vacation I may restart STS. not sure yet.

we got more snow yesterday and it was very cold last night. supposed to have been in the teens but I forgot to look early on. clear and sunny now but cold. weather will be reverting to wetter and milder by tomorrow.

Hi Deb, Josie, Joan, Cathy, and Valerie--

This morning I did Slim Sculpt (45 min.). I am really tempted to get Skinny Sculpt by Ellen Barrett because this one is a great way to end the week.

Deb, I saw that clip over at videofitness.com where someone posted it. Looks good. We are getting a lot of new snow. Covers the snirt, but ENOUGH IS ENOUGH ALREADY! Here I am looking at my new Vogue Patterns magazine with the spring and summer patterns, and it just feels like it will never happen. Sigh!

Nothing exciting this weekend, but ds, fiancee, fiancee's mom and aunt are coming the following weekend from San Francisco for a visit.

I will be watching the Oscars on Sunday night for sure. Valerie, don't you have a way of recording them? Or would it be too anticlimactic to watch them after everyone knows who won? I like to watch the red carpet show too.

Off to teach Measure for Measure (a very strange play and not funny).

We could record it but by the time I get to see it, almost a week later... it's so 'after the fact" that it's not entertaining. also too many hours when you know the outcome. Definitely a program to watch while happening. so I'll just read it in the paper. there's a chance this place will have satellite but usually rental places have just junk channels if they have TV at all.

sorry you got more snow. remember the words La Nina, and don't forget what comes with it! we've had much worse la ninas than this one but it's the overall weather pattern that can affect the whole world.

Carry on!! I'll talk to you all next week.

Saturday

Good morning,

Great class with Keegan last night, but ended up tossing and turning, waking up every hour or so....

I didn't take the Tylenol PM thinking that I should limit them, and I guess it made a difference. Oh well, I guess the good thing for me is that it is not a work day today and if I want, I can take a nap this afternoon.

Joan, Kelley Coffey-Myer's workouts ( at least the most recent), are only 30 minutes and they are pretty good. She does both cardio and weight ones. These 2 new ones are a weight split for upper and lower, and then a boxing cardio. Lots of pre-mixes on them usually too, and very cheap when compared to a lot of others.

Valerie, have a safe and fun trip!

Garance, I hear you ...I am so tired of looking at snow, we just better get an early spring.

Time to get some breakfast, and get a few things done around here before Keegan's class this morning.

Will check in later....

Deb I have several of KCM 30 minute dvd's so I shouldn't buy any more since I'm not doing anything.

My dm can't walk more than a few feet. She says it hurts to put weight on her good leg. I probably will take her to doctor sometime next week if I can cancel appts. I will have to call the fire department to get her down the stairs. I wish I had put the elevator in last year.

Today's wi 160.8. Yea another pound.

Joan
