pelvic pain?

Hi everyone!

This is my second post on this forum. I thank everyone for their helpful responses to my first question:) My question now is, what is this pain I am having in my pubic area? It is kind of embarrasing but I am now 26 weeks along and last week after one of my treadmill walks I started having a pain in my pubic area that is very uncomfortable. I feel like I have been riding my mountain bike for the first time of the season on a very hard seat! Im a little worried, do I need to call the doctor or is this something common? This is my first pregnancy so this is all new to me. I feel ok otherwise, but this new development has got me a little worried. If anyone has had this embarrasing pain and has any suggestions for me I would greatly appreciate any help I can get.

Thanks

Debs

Sorry to say but there's really not much you can do about it. You may want to bring this up to your Dr just in case but I think that's what this is. You may want to try one of those tummy belts to see if that helps some.

It could also be varicose veins

It's not just the legs that are prone to varicose veins during pregnancy, unfortunately. You can get them in the vulva as well. I did in my last 2 pregnancies. They are very uncomfortable. Make sure than you aren't doing anything that will aggravate them, like squats. Aplying heat ( as in a warm bath, a heating pad, or a hot water bottle ) can provide some relief.

You should definitely talk with your doctor about the pain. While it's probably either the relaxed ligaments or varicose veins, it's best to check it out and make sure.

Good luck!

Hi Debs,

I totally agree with the 2 other "posters." You should definitely discuss the pain with your caregiver. Also, if it worsens you should not wait until your next appointment.

Let us hear from you.
