Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone!! It sounds like a great group to belong to!
Karin, I remember you from before as well. Yes, I FINALLY graduated in May (I never thought it would happen!) and am working for a company in Loveland. It's a temp job, but it's great because they're really flexible with me and I am reachable by my daughter if need be. It's not a job I would want for life, but it's really good for now, especially since DH is hardly getting any work this winter (he's a utility locator).
I was able to do High Step Circuit this morning and it felt really good to get in a good workout. I think I'm a ways away from being able to do something like Boot Camp, but I'll get there! It just feels good to be active again!
Dani, have you ever tried Natural Calm? It's a magnesium supplement that doesn't necessarily make you sleepy (you can take it in the middle of the day and it won't knock you out) but it calms you down, making it easier to sleep. I have had so many sleep issues in the past and is exasperated by the fact that I'm a super light sleeper, too. The serving size is 1-3 teaspoons, I think, and a single serving packet gives you 1 1/2 teaspoon...that will actually knock me out! I take half a teaspoon. You can get it at places like Whole Foods, but it is so much cheaper at Vitacost.com. It's like an effervescent powder...the raspberry lemon is pretty good. I can't take sleeping aids because I always get side effects like twitching legs (yikes!).
Hi Jill:
Thanks for the suggestion! I'll have to give it a try if I can find... We have a WF just around the corner, so we'll see if they have it! Funny, you mention the light sleeping... that's SO me AND my mother... she used to say that she could hear the cat walk across the carpet! I, sadly, inherited this trait and awhile ago, DH's snoring was becoming a very big issue! I still have trouble if I am the last to fall asleep... but that is the beauty of Ambien... I'd say 98% of the time I'm out in less than 30 minutes after I take it! There is always an exception night here or there, but better than EVERY night! and I have "crazy legs" (that's what my gramma used to call it) too... UGH! We are falling apart!
Look forward to getting to know you!
