Peeps on Tuesday

Cathlete
Morning gang. I'm sipping on a mug of coffee, waiting for Catherine to come get a cup. I'll be doing a workout soon, but I'm not sure what. Something weighty. BBL.

Today was BM2. Didn't get to do the abs because I was short on time (DH called from out of country and I got started late), but I'm planning to come back and do that later this afternoon. I'll probably get more out of later--I was WIPED OUT by the end of the upper body section. It would've been tough to really push myself on the abs. Wow. It was a great, and fun, workout, though.

Laura

Thanks Robin for the coffee. I will be needing it today. I was flashing and sweating all night, which means little sleep.

Robin, enjoy your wt w/o

Laura, BM2 is a toughy. I think doing the ab work later is a great idea.

My plan is for B&G this evening :eek:

Hopes everyone has a wonderful day :)

Hey peeps. Just drinking some coffee. I plan on cleaning all day. My house needs it.:(
Hi Catherine, Robin, and Laura!

Morning!!

I raise my coffee cup to Robin, Catherine, Laura & LaDonna:D I've got strength training planned for today...maybe PUB & PLB floorwork.

Robin You sound like me. I'm not much for rotations (except P90X) but sometimes it gets tiresome trying to decide which workout to do for the day. I just try to alternate cardio & strength.

Catherine Bummer about the flashing/sweating. I've had glimpses of those and not looking forward to full blown attacks. Hope you sleep better tonight.

Laura Welcome! I love BM2 especially the scrambled eggs premix. It wipes me out too!

LaDonna Belated congrats on your run Sunday. Way to go! I can't believe you are going to clean your house today. I think I'd lay on the couch all week to recover from such a long run:eek:

Happy Tuesday to all who follow:D

JJ

Robin, Catherine, LaDonna, JJ--Good morning coffee club! I will be joining shortly...the office pot o' tar is still on brew.

Laura--BM2 is on my wish list!!

OK, Houdini update: Last night I put the mattress on the floor, skipped the baby gate, and shut the door. Before I left her, I told Houdini how fun this was that she got to sleep on her mattress like a big girl, look at all her stuffed animals, blankets on the floor (I created a little "nest" area in case she curled up on the floor instead) etc. Then I told her nite-night and shut the door. (I pondered getting a baby gate but decided if she could see out, that would be worse.)

So guess what? She cried for five minutes, pounded on the door, and gave up. It was silent the rest of the night. I could hardly believe it!!! My heart broke a little when I checked on her later--she had taken her stuffed puppy and favorite bear and had curled up next to the door to sleep. :( But bottom line--she was sleeping and safe. Win/win.

But then at 5:40AM, Mr. Needy cat when to her door and yowled...and then I heard her little voice saying, "Bye Bye Cat! Bye Bye!" So Mr. Needy woke her up!!!!! GAH! So she's been up since 5:40AM. And as I was trying to load the car to get ready for the grandma/work run (usually I do this while she's stlll sleeping in the morning), Mr. Needy escaped and she followed and I was chasing them both around the garage yelling "Everyone back in the house! Everyone back in the house!" It was like a bad cartoon. Houdini is running in her pajamas, the cat is running from me and her...but eventually I rounded everyone up and got them back into the house.

So now I'm at work getting ready to type up rooming lists (but not without coffee first or that could be bad....like assigning the wrong crew to the wrong game or something, LOL!)

And today will be No Workout Due to Abrupt Child Wake Up Max.

:) Wendy

WooHoo Wendy!

Sounds like you solved the sleepness night problem!! High fives to DD for letting you get some sleep but thumbs down to Mr Needy for waking her up early.;)

JJ

Good morning peeps! I was up really early this morning (4:30 AM) and I decided that I am still on east coast time. I was pretty beat last night and laid on the couch and caught up on all my DVRed shows that I missed last week. I am not excited to be at work right now and trying to motivate myself to do something. My dad is doing well and called me 4x at work yesterday. I know that he is bored and so I try to talk to him for a bit but I am running out of things to say :).

Wendy – Glad to hear that Houdini did well last night :).

Kel – Good workout yesterday and very creative. I just do workouts as is and never think of breaking them up like that. I hope all goes well with the job that you applied for.

Vilma – I love when people come to visit me but I am also glad to see them leave :). It messes up my routine.

LaDonna – thanks for updating us on your race. You did a great job.

Dani – I hope that your trip in OK is productive. I’m glad that you can workout while you are there. There’s nothing worse than being on a business trip and not having time or the facilities to workout.

Robin – yes, Gettysburg will be beautiful this time of year. I haven’t been there in forever either. Is your niece visiting you from out of town?

Laura – Congrats on completing BM2. I actually just do parts of that workout and have never done the whole thing in entirety. I would probably die if I did try the whole thing.

Catherine – I love B&G and haven’t done that in awhile. I should pull it out soon.

JJ – have fun with your full body workout today.

Wendy, I just love reading your stories of the "Adventures of Houdini" :D

JJ, bet you'll have a more difficult time raising that coffee cup after PUB

LD, are you recovered from your run? I don't know a thing about running, but I'd think it'd take a while to recover from that:)

Karin, you really should get B&Gs out and join me :p

Hi Peeps!

Wendy- your Houdini makes me laugh. One out my 4 was a Houdini and he was always hungry! One memorable time he escaped and tried to make eggs. He finally came to get me with an egg and said make this. When I arrived in the kitchen I found several broken eggs on the floor and a bowl and spoon. Another time I found him asleep back in his crib with a loaf of partially nibbled on French bread.

LaDonna- I hope the house cleaning keeps you form getting too stiff.

Catherine- my empathy to you on the flash/sweats. It has started here too.

Hi Robin and everyone else, I need to run several erands now that I am done with lunch here.

Oh, today I did a 3 mile easy paced outdoor run ( yesterday was my longish outdoor run, 7 miles) I am working on slowly increasing my weekly milage, in case some day I decide to run a real race. I finished off with 20 minutes of some yoga poses on my own.

Peeps Check-in

Peeps:

Happy Tuesday! My knee cooperated this morning, and I made it through Muscle Max without any pain. This is one of my favorite total body workouts. I have decided that I like heavier weights and less reps. The 4-Day Split weight segments are great too.

Robin, enjoy your weighty workout.

Laura, welcome to the check-in. It’s good to see another PYGFO sister here!

Catherine, I am sorry you had such a rough night. Hormones! Ugh! I love the Butts and Guts leg blast premix!

LaDonna, happy cleaning! Congratulations on your Sunday run!

JJ, I need to revisit Pyramid Upper Body someday. Pyramid Lower Body makes me nuts with all the plate changes.

Wendy, your funny stories are making me laugh on this rainy day. Thanks for the rays of sunshine!

Karin, welcome home. I am sorry for your delays in Philadelphia. Do not even get me started on that airport!

Judy, I am laughing out loud picturing your little chef!

Blessings,
Heather B.

"So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God" (1 Corinthians 10:31 NIV).

Karin--So what do you have stored on the DVR? Hmmm. That's another insight into people questions. If I had DVR, I'd save:

Project Runway
Giada at Home (I am eagerly looking forward to this new series!)
The Cooking Loft
Top Chef

Wow. Is it sad my favorite TV shows are 99 percent related to food? LOL!

Judy--OK, that egg story is priceless! I laughed out loud at that one.

Heather--I'm so glad to hear your knee is doing better. Muscle Max is on my Cathe wish list, too. Do you ever do the premixes on it?

Time for lunch. On today's menu is homemade minestrone and it turned out really good, if I do say so myself. I put red swiss chard, zucchini, whole wheat elbow macaroni, kidney beans, green beans, diced Muir Glen tomatoes, carrots, fresh parsley, Italian seasoning, tomato juice, low-sodium veggie bouillon and some water. Yummy!

This afternoon I'm leavng early to get Flu Shots for myself and Houdini, who still hasn't taken a nap (and has been up since 5:40AM.) hmmm, that ought to be...interesting. Ha!

:) Wendy

Catherine – no B&G for me tonight, but I think I will tackle it next week. Do you do the workout as is or do a premix? I really love the ab work on this DVD.

Heather – Good to see you again. Glad that your knee cooperated in order to complete MM. I have to say it is one of my favorite full body workouts too.

Wendy – your minestrone sounds delicious. I am eating Amy’s frozen meals this week for lunch since I didn’t have time to cook this weekend. They are much better than Lean Cuisine, but still not what I love to eat all the time. As for my DVR, I have a lot of shows that I record including

Project Runway
Top Chef
The Office
America’s Next Top Model
Top Design
Biggest Loser
What Not to Wear
The Amazing Race
Brothers and Sisters
Lipstick Jungle
Ugly Betty

I have to say that I am a couch potato at heart and love watching TV. I figure if I DVR all these shows I can watch them whenever I have time and also save lots of time by fast forwarding through the commercials. Who are you rooting for to win Project Runway this season? I am rooting for anyone but Kenley. Do you like to just watch food shows or do you also like to cook? I like to cook quite a bit and get most of my recipes from Cooking Light, the Food Network, and Rachael Ray's Everyday magazine.

It depends on what I am in the mood for or have time for. I almost am never in the mood for the ab work though :p

Peeps

I think it's the PLAGUE or something.:eek::eek:
When am I going to feel better? Seriously. this sucks. Especially for someone who never gets sick!!! Maybe I was a little more run down than I thought!
Usually it DH who gets sick from all his air travel. But now it's me:(:(:(:(

But,because I am going to see Cathe on Monday with a few tri staters I FORCED myself to do a little workout today. It hurt. I did Push/Pull and then some (very little some) of 4DS LIS. Oh the pain of breathing

I wish I could do personals, but I need to take the boys for their flu shots and then I am going to bed!!!!!

Hope everyone has a great day.

Oh, Karin! I love TV, too. :) I cannot WAIT for Project Runway tomorow night! I do NOT like Kenley's attitude at all but I have a feeling she'll win.

I'm really passionate about cooking, farmers' Markets, Whole Foods, etc. I get some of my recipes from Food TV, some from cooking blogs (let me know if you want me to post my favorite ones...if you have some you like I'd love for you to share them!) and magazines. Food Network is launching their magazine today, I can't wait to get a copy! I like Rachael's magazine and Paula Deen's (although her recipes need HEAVY modification to be healthy, LOL!)

:) Wendy
