I'm desperately sipping coffee!!! Mornings are so hard when the sun isn't up yet!!

I may tackle a DM premix today.

Ellie, glad you are turning the corner!

LaDonna-GOOD LUCK!!!

Waving to all of you peeps!!

Morning peeps!

Go LaDonna! You must be running right now. I'm so excited for you.

ellie, glad to hear the cold is on the way out.

Catherine, yup, I need a refill.

Gotta go find some breakfast and get ready for church. My niece arrived in the middle of Penn State walloping Wisconsisn. Roar, Lions, Roar! After church,we are headed to a big farm nearby that has one of those Amazing Maize Mazes. Have a wonderful Sunday.

I told you all that I needed coffee this morning LOL!! Today was upper body day. I am done with that. It took about 45 mins. I may throw in some cardio later, but it certainly won't be DM

Good morning Peeps!

Ellie - glad to hear that you are on the mend. Did I read on another thread that you live close to Cathe's gym?

Robin - I watched the PSU game last night too. I went to grad school there and went to every home game for 5 years. Living in CO, we don't get to see many PSU games on TV but being in NJ now we got to see it last night. I want to go to a game again so badly. I love those corn mazes. I went to undergrad at Shippensburg and they had this huge corn maze close by that we would go to all the time. Have fun today.

Catherine - Did you do upper body on your own or did you use a DVD? Are you doing splits right now for weight work?

LaDonna - good luck on your half today. I can't wait to hear about it.

My DH and I are flying back to CO today. My dad is doing pretty well but I think that he is progressing slower than he had expected so he's getting a little upset. I told him to give himself a break. He just had major surgery and it's going to take awhile.

I am feeling very guilty about leaving my mom and brother here to take care of him and not help at all. I decided to come back to NJ in the end of October to hang out with him and give them somewhat of a break. On the other hand, I am so glad to be going back. I am beat and wiped out. I am looking forward to the normalcy again, though I really don't want to go to work tomorrow.

Until tomorrow!

Karin, your emotions are normal ((hugs)) You want to stay, you want to go,.... You need some rest!! Take care of yourself. I hope your dad comes to accept his rate of healing as it happens. Keep your chin up. Oh did someone say chinups :p Sorry, I couldn't resist!!

As far as today's w/o it was my own upper body. Just the basics bench, db lat raise, skull crushers, one arm db row, and concentration curls. The goal is to do 8-12 reps for 3 or 4 sets with 45 secs - 1 min of rest. I have actually (untill last couple of weeks) been doing 2 upper body and 2 lower body w/o per week. One of which is my own more geared toward hypertrophy and the other being a Cathe for endurance. It has worked extremely well for me. Although it's tough to get enough cardio in.

Mornin' Peeps!

I am procrastinating the rest of my packing for my trip today to Oklahoma! Every time I say it I want to sing (although never have seen the entire musical)

Ellie so glad you are starting to feel better... and hopefully I won't be joining you this week by getting a cold... I get one every time lately when I fly... Airbourne or not! I'm hoping that my allergy meds will help as this will be the first trip WITH meds! Hope you continue to improve. Take care of yourself!

Catherine Wow! coffee and a workout all before 7am! Impressive...Good job!!! I'm just thinking about getting off the couch! still have packing to do though... but will be packing some of Cathe to take with!

Go LaDonna!!! Hope your race goes super!!

Robin Those Maize Mazes are SO much fun! you and your family will enjoy them! have a great time!

Karin so glad to hear that your DF is doing better, although as you said, recovery (especially the older one gets) does seem to take longer to heal. While you may not be physically present to help take care of him, I'm sure you will be great moral support, which is every bit as important.

Hope the rest of the Peeps that check in today are having a wonderful day!

Dani, I think you are on a different time zone than I am ;) I could never w/o before 7 am!! I started my w/o around 8:40 and ended around 9:30 and that's actually a bit early for me :) I hope you have a safe trip to OKLAHOMA!!

Happy Sunday Peeps~

I haven't worked out since Thursday and I'm feeling like a slug. I plan to do a circuit w/o this morning but haven't decided which one yet.

Catherine~ Coffee is good. I need at least 2 cups before I can workout:confused:

Robin~ Have fun but don't get lost in the maize!!;)

Ellie~ Glad to hear you are turning the corner on that nasty cold. Hope you are 100% real soon.

Karin~ {{{Hugs}}} You were there for your dad during his surgery and you shouldn't feel guilty if you have to return home. Take care of yourself now and look forward to when you go back to see him later this month. I hope he is doing much better by then.

LaDonna~ Thinking of you. Hope your run goes well.

Dani~ Have a safe trip to OK..."where the wind comes sweeping down the plains" I think of that song too;)

Waves HI to all who follow.

Ugh, Catherine, I'm joining you in the coffee department right now. DD would NOT sleep last night--kept waking up, crying, and as soon as you put her back to bed, she would have a meltdown. At 1:40AM I took her to the living room and she laid down on the floor (she has a naptime set up down there--old workout mat, quilts, baby blankets, etc.) but she still would not sleep for any good period of time. At 5:15 I put her to bed and she screamed and screamed and screamed and then THUD! DD had jumped out of the crib!

Finally, at that point, out of fear she'd hurt herself doing that again, and exhaustion, I brought her to bed with me (something I SWORE I'd never do) and she slept until 8:45. She already dragged out her stroller and climbed in (My que for a walk) and we took a 30 minute walk. I'm soooooooooooo tired. And today is supposed to be the painting party--if she doesn't crash by then!

So functional fitness was my workout this morning. :)

Oh, yeah, and any advice from moms on how to deal with this jumping out of bed thing would be greatly appreciated...

LaDonna--Yay, the big race! A full report is mandatory when you get back.

Robin--I watched the Penn State game to and they are awesome. GO STATE! We are...Penn State! Purdue, on the other hand...well, I'm just waiting for basketball. LOL!

Dani--Have a good trip in Oklahoma! Whereabouts are you going? Oh, by the way, now I have "Oklahoma" stuck in my head. Which is better than the New Kids on The Block song that was stuck there yesterday...(They are coming in concert here in Dallas in a week and yep, people are talking...or laughing...about it. LOL!)

Karin--I'm so glad your Dad is doing better and you are able to go home. I know it's tough, but it's good for you to get back to your life for awhile. You Dad will be in good hands. :)

JJ--Circuit workouts are a great way to feel like you've caught up when you haven't been working out, aren't they?

Elle--So glad to hear you are feeling better!

Greetings and waves to those who follow....

:) Wendy

Wendy, you poor thing. I did get a chuckle out of your DD getting the stroller out. And you were probably like :confused: you gotta be kidding, right :D

I hope you get some rest!!

Hi Peeps!!!

Catherine-I MUST have 3 cups (mugs) before I can even think about exercising!!

LaDonna--Yay, the big race! Can't wait to hear all about it!!

Robin--Enjoy your fun fall day!!!

Dani--Is this a buisness trip?? My DH is headed to Omaha next week. A long week for me. My boys miss him so much

Karin-- It's so hard when you are too far away to care for a loved one. I'm sure your family understands that you needed to get home. Surgery is hard at any age. I'm sure he just needs a little extra time.

JJ--I'm gonna need to start with an easy circuit workout sometime this week once I am feeling better.

Wendy- How old is your DD?? My boys were out of their cribs by 18 months!!! They are 4 and 7 now but the memories are so fresh

Hi to everyone who follows
Have a great weekend
ellie :):):)

OK....I'm officially losing it! I decided to do HSTA as my circuit w/o today only to realize I don't have that one:confused: I could swear I did:rolleyes: Anyhoo, I ended up doing HSC which still kicked my butt after having a few days off and no endurance w/o's in quite awhile.

Hi Wendy~ Sorry to hear you had a rough night. I've been there but now my kids are 20 & 17. I'm still up at night but now it is because I'm waiting for them to get home:rolleyes: Hope your DD has a better night tonight and you can get some sleep.
