There's been a nasty cold going around here. All 3 kids have caught it and, unfortunately, I'm doing battle with it. So far I'm winning, thanks to taking it easy and lots of "wellness cold and flu" tabs (lots of echinacea in those!). So I'm winning the battle, but it's still a fight, and I'm feeling crummy. Have missed my last 3 workouts. :( I was hoping today that I might at least feel like doing a segment of Core Max, but NO WAY! Sigh. I feel like this always happens when I start doing well. I was increasing my running, my wrist had healed . . . right when I start to make a breakthrough I get a little cold and am set back to where I was before. That ever happen to you?

Fortunately all the kids are well and I'm on my way up. Maybe I can work out tomorrow.

I've decided that I really need to pay attention to my fluid intake. I used to do REALLY well on that, but I've gotten slack. I'm going to start reporting my H2O intake when I sign in, just to keep me honest. Today I've only had 8 oz so far. Better go get a cup!

OK. I just went and got my 32 oz. insulated mug and filled it with ice water. I'm on my way. :D

Laura sorry to hear the sick germs are at your house. Since the kids started school we've been hit by the crud more than our fair share.

Good for you on getting that water in. On my wake up before my coffee I drink two 20oz water bottles and that helps rev me up for the day usually.

Guten Morgen! Time for the coffee, Peeps! :)

I got up at 5:30AM and did 4DS Boot Camp cardio. I did all of the "butt kicks" over the step except for one today, whoooooooooooo progress! I followed up with Stretch Max with the resistance band. Now it's time to wake up the kiddo and hope she's in a better mood this morning than yesterday, LOL! And let's just see if I can remember to bring my Candy Apple Coffee-Mate to work so I can have a totally fab treat after my Kashi Go Lean breakfast!!

Laura--Houdini had a nasty head cold last week that resulted in two ear infections. I guess it's just that time of year, isn't it? Keep drinking your fluids and don't beat yourself up about getting off track with the workouts--it happens to ALL of us!!! Just schedule one for tomorrow so you have something to look forward to and keep drinking your water!! :)

Vilma--Enjoy CCv8 today!

Robin--Glad you came by today!! Enjoy your weight workout later today.

Not much to report here. I didn’t workout last night because I had a meeting and didn’t get home until 8 pm and was so hungry. I did pretty well eating and didn’t gorge myself, which I tend to do if I am overly hungry. Tonight I am going to go to the gym with DH and do a CC on the TM.

Laura – Sorry that you aren’t feeling well. I always feel like every time I am making progress, something happens to me. I finally decided to try to take things down a notch in terms of intensity and days of working out and it is working for me. I think that I was trying to do too much and my body wasn’t liking it. I hope that you feel well soon.

Vilma – Have fun with CC v8 today. I still haven’t tried that one yet. I will probably do v3 or v4 on the TM tonight at the gym.

Robin – I hope you have a good day and are feeling less glum than yesterday.

Wendy – great workout. I don’t have 4DS, but have watched the clips like 5000 times and I don’t think I’d be able to get through the BC workout. Congrats on making it through the butt kicks! Also, I totally have the heebee jeebees about your squirrel problem. I hope that the exterminator takes care of the problem and that your home is smelling better tonight. I am so freaked out by little creatures, it’s scary. DH was up on the roof last weekend and he found some animal poop. Of course I was totally freaked out about it wondering what animals are up on the roof and if they can get inside. I even had dreams about raccoons in our chimney. I need help :).

Catherine – I have to say that Imax has the most horrible warm up that Cathe has ever done. I tried to do it once and haven’t done it since. You are right, RS is way more fun!

Ellie and JJ – How are you doing today?
 
A couple of notes. Houdini was in a great mood until we tried to take medicine. Then she got mad and knocked the cup up into the air...my new Ann Taylor sweater is now coated pink bubble gum scented medicine. So I gave up, added the right amount back into her dose, and tossed it into her sippy cup. Then, of course, I forgot my Candy Apple creamer!! UGH!

Karin, yes, the tennants upstairs totally freak me out. It is BEYOND gross. Especially when they decide it's party time and I can hear them doing their own version of "Dance Off/Pants Off" up in the attic, LOL. But hopefully they'll be moving on out after my visit from pest
control.

And if I can do 4DS Boot Camp, you can, too! It's one I've had to grow with, and it still makes me sweat buckets, but it has totally built up my endurance. Love it. I also ordered some new DVD's yesterday--Patrick G's workout with the medicine ball (looked different and under 40 minutes, I was game for it) and Cathe's Total Body Stretching and High Step Training. I can't wait until everything comes this week. I really want Body Max 2 and kind of wish I would have thrown that in my order, but I'm very excited about my new toys that are on the way!

Happy Hump Day:D I just finished BodyMax2 cardio blast premix. I don't think I've done the entire BM2 as produced more than a couple times but I love playing around with the premixes.

Laura Sorry to hear you are not feeling well. Keep up the fluids and hopefully you'll feel better soon.

Robin You gotta give CCV8 a try. The music is my favorite and it is different with the long hill challenges. Have a good weight w/o.

Wendy WooHoo on the butt kicks! Way to go! BTW, I just love hearing about all your exploits with Houdini. It brings back memories of when my kids were little and makes me smile:D

Karin You showed good restraint last night! I also have a tendancy to gorge myself if I get really hungry. Have fun with CC at the gym tonight.

I drank my requisite 64 oz of water today. I probably should be drinking more than that this week in order to help my body flush these toxins. But after slacking off in the H2O department, I'm happy to have at least hit the bottom line today.

Here's hoping for enough energy to do one segment of Core Max tomorrow!
 
And BTW, JJ, I'd love to hear what your favorite BM2 mixes are. I look at them and try to envision what they mean, but I'm not sure. And I'm one of those Type A people who needs to know the program ahead of time! :) So I just never do them. If I need to shorten it, I just lop off the circuit section or the upper body or somthing.

What is Scrambled Eggs? Does it mix the upper body into the circuit section? That's what I've been guessing.

Scrambled eggs is all cardio with the 3 step segments, combination of all 3 step segments (done twice) and the power circuits.

Cardio blast is the same as scrambled eggs except you don't do the combo part twice.

If you go to the premix menu, it provides descriptions and breakdowns of the various w/o's.

The body does adjust and if I don't get enough water throughout the day I get quite sluggish and my mouth feels all puckered and dry but yes the bathroom gets used frequently lol

Had a blast with all those hills in V8 oh my challenge 2 was a big endurance drill. Oh My!!!!:eek:

I feel so accomplished when I do those difficult challenges.

Update #2: The pest control folks came. Rats had eaten THREE HOLES in my roof line and were getting ready to shack up in my attic for the winter! The holes have been patched = good news. The fact that the deceased rodent has fallen between my walls and cannot be reached = bad stinky news. There is nothing I can do except live with the odor for a week, then it stops. They did leave me with a lovely bottle of "rat odor" control perfume that you dab on cotton balls and leave around the house to overpower the smell with a whiff of pine...Ugh. Let's just say I'll be heading to Wik candles ASAP to stock up! Have you all ever heard of Wik? This is a Texas company that makes really nice looking, strong scented candles:

In other news, Houdini went down for a nap at Grandma's an hour ago. HURRAH! JJ, I'm so glad you are enjoying her adventures. I enjoy sharing them with you all, too. :)
