Peanut Butter

I too am a fellow peanut butter LOVER! I eat it everyday! After reading the recent post, I went out and bought reduced fat JIF (Reg Jif is my favorite)! Anyway, don't you think it all balances out because the reduced fat has way more sugar and carbs? Plus....it tastes kind of gritty. Now I have two jars to eat before I can go back to my regular....

Anyway, any other nut butter suggestions???

I bought that stuff too, then I looked at the label. It has the same calories as the full fat, and it uses high fructose corn syrup to make up for some of the fat. Not a good replacement in my opinion. I threw it away because I refused to put that crap into my body. But that's up to you.

I only buy the natural stuff, where the ingredients are peanuts, or peanuts and salt. The other stuff tastes awful to me and gives me heartburn.

I only buy the natural stuff, too. It's just better for you. Also, I have recently discovered almond butter (natural) and I love it! (A big thank you to the person who mentioned it on this forum!)

Naturally More Peanut Butter. I find it at Super Wal*mart. I looove it! http://www.peanutsnack.com I bought it after reading about it here. Smuckers Natural is pretty good too! I don't like the reduced fat as they just add in more sugars to make up for it. I know that I'll never buy Peter Pan again!!

Try Smucker's, or some other 'peanuts-and-salt-only' peanut butter. It takes a while to get used to the texture/flavor if you're used to eating the 'regular' stuff, but it's healthier.

You don't HAVE to eat those two jars if you don't want to. Just mix it with some bird food or cornmeal and make balls to put outside for the squirrels (the birdfood/cornmeal keeps it from being too sticky to eat).

HFCS is definitely on my list of 'foods' to avoid (notice the quotation marks!).

Just a thought. I went and bought that Better n Peanut Butter, and am actually disappointed. It does not have an intense peanut flavor (which is why we all love peanut butter!) It tasted like it has honey in it and is just plain weird.
Not the same at all...."a little of the good stuff is better that a jar of the "fake" stuff!"

I agree, tneah, I spent about $6.50 for a jar at Wild Oats - I was so excited after hearing all the buzz about it on here, so I couldn't wait to try it. Blech - odd texture, not nutty enough for me either :-(

So, I'll stick with my Naturally More from Wal-Mart, I guess. It has higher fat, but it is very good and crunchy.

Regular Jif or Skippy for me}( I cannot stand the stuff you have to stir. I have to have a little sugar in my PB. I know, bad bad Susan:9
