Paper Workouts/DVD Workout

I have a question for those that have done paper workouts. I have one that I didn't mean to start but I decided to do it for a few days until my DVDs had arrived and there is definitely something nice about doing a paper workout and I found it challenging in a different way.
My question is do you guys find the workouts for weightlifting have a slight edge on DVDs or it just depends on what DVDs your using?

Thanks

That's definitely true, sometimes you may need to improvise some of the exercises if your working out at home but I do like the flexibility.

I would agree about paper workouts. Go at your pace, your own music, etc. I think they can be a little hard for cardio but that's probably just me.

Dvds with a standard content and quality production do have a slight edge IMHO:)
The beauty of some of them is following elements are preset for a smooth seamless process:

  • Rest time and counting for each set ---Very important in my opinion.
  • Music --/--- without dwelling into any polemic, music CAN help for motivation. Even for performance.
  • The fact of working out with crew on dvd does also keep the motivation and the focus high.
  • Verbal cueing helps executing moves with correct form.
  • Visual cueing and Mirror-ing instructor form.
Cons of paper is the exerciser need to glance at paper to re-read form pointers;):)

That said regardless of the workout format, the content of program matching the goal pursued is what matters
the most.:) Dvds workout can also be modified depending on exerciser experience. Many of us here do it.:);)
