P90X+

I ordered and received these today. They look like they will be good. But, for the abs/core I do not have a pull up bar. I don't have a place to put in conjunction with where I work out is. Any suggestions from those who have the program and do you like the whole program?

Thanks

I love the program!! I'm on week 6 now and love all of the workouts. I don't know if there is a way to do the abs/ core + without the pullup bar. There are no modifications on the DVD's. They are some kick-butt moves, love it!! Good luck & feel free to ask if you have any questions!

Sorry I can't help with modifications for the abs/core work out either but I wanted to say that I've done every work out atleast one time through and love them all!!!

That being said, Kenpo cardio+ threw me for a loop the first time. It's very fast paced and Tony doesn't explain alot of the moves before you do them so I got frustrated quickly. The next time I knew what to expect though and it went much better! I did it for the 3rd time yesterday and it's only getting better!

Interval Cardio+ is just AWESOME! Nuff said. ;)

Total body+ moves quickly and fries you up good. It's lots of fun and has great variety and many original moves. As with the original X it is light on the leg work though so I am including an extra leg work out every week.

Upper+ I just did for the first time today and LOVED it as well. Tough tough stuff! I had to drop my weights down ALOT from what I was able to do with the original X. The moves are again, very original.

Abs/Core+ is tough but fun as well. Also fast paced with lots of new moves. Somehow ARX causes more of a burn in the abdominals A/C is still a great work out. }(

I love the original X and got great results with it. I plan to do it again in the future! I think this new series has alot more of a fun factor to it though. Atleast for me. The work outs are tougher but shorter which I also prefer-easier to fit in a busy schedule. :)

I am nearing the end of week 1 of the Lean rotation and can't wait to see what kind of results I get after another 12 weeks!

What rotation will you be doing? }(

I love it, and it knocks me for a loop, I modify ALOT! The girls at VF sold me on the flowbar, and I use that for a pullup bar and it doesn't take up any room - goes over the door...think its flowbar.net....the guy was nice to deal with and I got the product in a week.

I haven't done Abs/Core yet, just haven't had time, but I love all the other workouts in this set so far.

Kenpo Plus was SUCH a nice surprise (I didn't care for the original KenpoX).

The efficiency of these workouts is fantastic.

Me too! I didn't care for the original KenpoX either. They are very time efficient also and lots of great core moves. I did the *recovery* week of the regular X workouts and although I enjoyed them they felt MUCH longer after getting used to the X+! He really keeps you moving, I love the *warmup* for Total Body+ of doing Burpies (mountain climbers, whatever you call them!).

I asked the same question on the BB boards and didn't get much of a response other then - time to buy a pull up bar.

One thought I had was to try the moves on the incline bench (I have the slanted risers). Otherwise - you would have to do them on the floor - or some other comporable move on the floor - maybe borrowing from Ab Ripper X.

For me - I'm not at a point where I think I could do all the hanging moves anyway so I'm ok with modifying.

Hope this helps.

Hi Wendy.

I'm doing the Lean rotation too! I'm only on week 2 though. I might switch to the classic routine though. I don't know which one do to. I really want to get definition. What do you think?
I am going to add in an extra leg workout as well. I am really liking these. I love the shorter length. I still haven't made up my mind about Kenpo - I didn't like the original. This one is better but I'm not sure if I like it. I'd rather do Turbo Jam or a Cathe Kickbox.

Hi Charlene.

I am doing different cardio during my X+ rotation. If you want to do that then I say go for it! I have even added 1 short cardio session per week as well as the additional leg work out. I plan to run 2x per week but the 3rd cardio is up in the air. I plan to use Interval+ and Kenpo+ plus atleast a few times since I do like them but I don't want to get bored so I will mix it up when I feel the urge. :)

I did the Classic rotation of the original X and got great results. I was always curious what the Lean rotation would do for me but there was something about the way that rotation was set up that bugged me so I never did it. I like the looks of this new Lean rotation MUCH better so I'm going for it! Unless there's some really nagging reason why you'd rather do the classic rotation, I'd stick it out with Lean and see what happens. You can do Classic on the NEXT go-around!;)

I'm really loving these...so far, I've done total body, Intervals, and Abs/Core...as someone else said, I love the efficiency of these workouts...so much accomplished in such a short time. I did Total Body first and had DOMS for 3 days! I got a pull-up bar at Target for about $14...it secures into the doorway. I do my workouts in my living room. I put the pull-up bar in a doorway not far from there (where I can still see the TV, lol). There aren't any modifications shown for the pull-ups/hanging abs moves. I've not done any of these moves before and I'm loving 'em...very effective! I never did the original P90X...now I'm thnking I may eventually get it! :)

I just received this email this morning I think I am caving I do not follow the program I just loved the workouts and from what I hear this is better than the first they also showed a new workout kit with tubing I can not remember the name.

Oh yeah, if you love the X+ you'll love the original P90X also! You do get a lot accomplished in the workouts. I did Upper plus this morning and am doing much better at the L-pullups and 7-points. Love the variety!
