P90X - you ladies broke me....

Ok, since you all insisted on talking about this set ad nauseam :7, I finally broke down and bought it. Someone was selling it on the YaYa swap for a great price (not a whole lot cheaper BUT no dealing with BB!). I admit I am a little... scared. I had an elbow injury last year that put me off heavy lifting for a long time, but I am really ready to get my physique back. I am also slightly worried about doing nothing but for 90 days, but I am hoping by Jan 1 that I will be ready to change up from the new Cathes. :7

Anyway, how many people here are planning on starting the rotation for Jan 1??

Marie

Hi Marie! Well I never left it! lol This must be my 4th time around doing the Classic rotation. Don't be scared. Just go at your own pace its your own workout after all. Enjoy! Kathy:D

Marie, I am contemplating starting Jan. 1 also. I still haven't got enough of the new Cathes. Hopefully by then I will be ready too. I don't know about giving up all my other workouts for 9 weeks. Keep me posted if you are going to do the rotation in Jan.

ME ME! I absolutely intend to start the program in January!:) :) :) I am still in the "reviewing" process of it to make sure I want to keep it but so long as I do, I'm on! :+

Marie, I just got it and am reading through the manuals. I hope I'll be ready to start by Jan. 1 but I have to get my DH to put up the pull up bar which he doesn't want to do since we're selling the house and he doesn't want anything messing up the walls. I'll see if I can just use the bands. I'm really looking forward to starting this. I love Cathe but I think I need a change. I think I will be doing the classic rotation. I like that all the workouts are under an hour except for Yoga X. These hour plus workouts are really getting to me. They burn plenty or calories for me but I think I wind up eating more. I am going to try and do the diet as well. I'm okay with all meals except for dinner. DH doesn't like "healthy" food and I don't feel like cooking more than one meal. Maybe I'll do the Chicken Caesar Salad for starters. I feel like all I ever cook is chicken cutlets. I guess I'll have to start looking through my cookbooks for recipes.

I am starting it on Dec 3rd with Suz and I think Netta might be as well? Netta? Gonna be fun, fun, fun...sweat, sweat, sweat...burn, burn, burn. Shutting up now.

Hi Marie- I hope that my hubby takes my hints about wanting this system for xmas and if I get it then I will start Jan. 1---deb

Hi all.

I am on week 2 of the classic, and I have modified a bit.. cannot do any pull ups. I used a chair for assistance last week and used my right leg so much to assist that I think I pulled my hamstring! Ugh! anyway, I am using the band this week as a substitute and I got just as good of a workout! I love this program! even though I modify right now, (eg I sub a HIIT treadmill workout instead of the yoga.) Any way, I feel so good when I am done. I would like a thread here for all of us to use, but I am not sure it's ok to do.

p.s Ab Ripper X is a killer!

That's exactly when I was hoping to start... but then I was reminded that my grandmother will be here for a month and she stays in the "workout room". So workouts during that time are sporadic, at best. Not that they've been great lately anyway :p. So I'll start probably the middle of January.

My pull-up bar was just installed today! I tried an ultra-heavy BeachBody band with handles first for assistance, but that was way too slack for this weakling. Then I borrowed a heavy blue band from work that I could tie on and it works wonderfully! I had to keep my one toe lightly down, though, to really go through the range of motion. It's hard to believe how weak I really am! But this is great, because it makes working up to real pull-ups so doable. My SO was actually quite stunned that I couldn't even begin to do a pull-up because he thought I had such great upper body strength. Now maybe someday he'll be right :D.

I'm starting on December 4th with Toastythemosty (Charlotte) and dogs2birds (Suz). Can't wait, still looking over the material and previewing some of the workout DVD's. I'm ready to take it up a notch.

Jeanette

All right...now I'm starting to think I should start my P90X rotation on the 4th as well!! I just got engaged last night (can't find a smiley face big enough to insert here!), so some good weight lifting would be a great way to relieve some planning stress! I would like a Aug/Sept 2007 wedding, so time is ticking fast!

Hi,

I'm on my 1st recovery week. I'm a long time Cathe fan (20 years), but I've seen results in three weeks with p90X that I had never seen before. Even my family has noticed! We always joke around about my spindly muscles, but after looking at the improvement in my arms, my 17 year old son started the classic rotation this week (he rides downhill mountain bikes). I'm sure that I wouldn't have seen this much progress if I hadn't started out in pretty good shape, thanks to Cathe.

Tracy

Wow, that's awesome! What do you attribute the results to? What I'm really interested in is learning how to do a rotation that will work with my body. I think I plateaued a loooooong time ago.

Jeanette

I was hoping to start by the beginning of next week, as it has been almost two weeks now that I ordered P90X. I still haven't even gotten a shipping notice. I really hope that it comes soon -- worst case scenario I will start Jan 1. I am soooo excited! Has anyone else had to wait a while after ordering to receive the system? I am just used to getting my Cathe DVDs so quickly after ordering.

Monica

Monica-
I have mine but FYI I ordered some additional recovery drinks and bars (P90X related) & got notice of backorder due to unexpected high volume of all P90X related stuff. Shoot them an email and ask... They responded within 48 hours to me.
Good news is that its a great product and very well may be out of stock w/ Jan starters ordering like crazy

Jeanette,

I bought p90x because I felt that I had platuead long ago and I could not get past it. Before I got p90x, I had added a push up medley to my workouts and that helped some. I think that it is just the shock of targeting muscles completely differently. You would not believe my core. It is so tight now and it never was before no matter how many ab routines I did. It feels hard to the touch. I have added some additional weight work for my legs because I changed that up too before I started p90x and I liked what was happening. They are also the best they have been and different. Really hard with little fat, even in the problem area right below the butt (its almost gone). I just can't say enough about the product, but I'll always use my Cathe collection as a backup.

Tracy

OH OH OH!!!! ME! ME! ME!!!!!

I got my P90X on the same day the new Cathe dvds arrived (a euphorically exciting day for me), have read the manuals three times, and am chomping at the bit to start. BUT, I am determined to wait until January 1st to start, so I'm not interrupted by the holiday season and all of the company that will be staying with us. I also need to find a pull up bar somewhere, and my initial searches are proving fruitless.

I can't WAIT to start! I plan to do the Classic rotation, and to follow the eating plan (the one with the blocks, not the one with the menus). So, I need to find some versions of the recovery drinks and protein bars that I can buy in the store, and not order online. Anyone got any good suggestions?

Definitely let's have a check in!!
Sandra
-very excited :)

>Definitely let's have a check in!!

Sounds like a plan....I tried to start the lean program on Monday but I ended up so sore I absolutely could not move on Tuesday. And that was just with Core Synergistics. I really didn't think it was all that tough. My body says WRONG!!!! I had to crawl up my steps Tuesday night to go to bed. My DH said...are you sure you know what you are getting into??? Then I noticed the lean program pretty much eliminates chest and back...which I'm not sure I want to do. So I will try a couple others and start with you all on monday, but I think I'm going to do Classic, then maybe switch to Doubles later.

Anyway... yes let's have a check in..!!! I'm psyched again...now that I can move.
