P90X Wednesday Check-n

Morning!

I just did Back and Biceps and went up on a lot of the weights for the biceps! YEA!! I know I will be feeling it later - but a good, fast moving workout.

I am doing doubles - so I will do some cardio - probably Turbo Jam on my lunch! I am still waiting for the new Turbo Jams as they lost my original order... grrrrr...

Anne - way to go! Nice to go up weights isn't? I'm still playing with trying to figure out which weights to use...

I did Yoga X for the first time. I enjoyed it - Tony actually talks you through the moves very well and I learned some tips from him that my other instructors have not mentioned. That being said, I really don't see the benefit of a full 90 minutes of yoga. I can do Rodney Yee and Bryan Kest's Power Yoga and get the same benefits, in 60 minutes. And that will allow me to move from a Sunday - Friday rotation to a Monday-Saturday rotation which will suit me better, so I'm excited about that.

I have a question for you ladies who do P90X-I just ordered this Monday and I cannot use the door gym(won't work on my door-did you get the tower so you could do pullups or is it something you could work around. Also-do you find it necessary to have the bands? If yes, then where to buy and what tension??

Thanks for answering and sorry if already asked,

Kathy

No worries Kathy - that's part of what this thread is for - for people to ask questions and get answers! So welcome to the P90X world.

I use the bands, but there are other options - one is the pull up tower. You can also attach a pull up bar to your door frame. Basically - any way you get get a pull up/chin up, is fine.

If you have the bar or tower, there is no need for the bands. You can use bands for some of the weight exercises, but you can also use dumbbells. I have the bands - and use dummbells for the weights.

Christine...I alos subbed for YogaX. I agree Kest is good and I also like Baron Baptiste alot.

I did GS Back & Biceps in place of P90X today. The weather has been beaufitul so I did a 7 mile run..:)

wow carole, seven miles??!! that would take me over an hour. I am so slow still. How long, are the races you are training for? Someday I hope to be able to run like that. I asked hubby to train for a race with me (I think that's the best way to enhance your running endurance and speed), but he's not interested.

I'm taking the day off b/c I've done six days in a row. Last night I did legs and back. The leg workout is pretty easy and doesn't use much weight. Anybody adding additional Cathe leg workouts?

Carole is a rock, isn't she? I want to be like her when I grow up (or at least stop growing out - not sure if I'll ever grow up!)...

Christine....thanks....:)...a crazy rock maybe!

Krystal..7 miles does take me over an hour!..I am training for a 50K in July and then doing something new. In the Western States 100 mile Endruance run in June, I will be pacing a runner for 20 miles. I start with her when she gets to mile 58...

You might still feel the legwork from Legs & Back tomorrow! I did add one of Cathe's leg workouts to the P90X rotation once a week....:)

I did Legs and Back yesterday for the first time and LOVED it!!!! My butt has been "thanking" me all day...

Didn't do a workout today as I didn't have time. I'll get Kenpo and Stretch out tomorrow!!! I promise!! :D
