P90X users

How do you fit these in with your Cathe workouts and any additional cardio? Would you mind posting a week's rotation for me to look at? Thanks much!

One possible rotationk, based on P90X:
Day 1: P90X Chest/Back and Ab Ripper
Day 2: Plyo X or an IMAX
Day 3: P90X shoulders and arms + abs
Day 4: stretch/yoga
Day 5: Legs workout (P90X legs and back or any
Day 6: Kickboxing (Kenpo X or KPC or any)
Day 7: rest or stretch

For extra cardio, I'd wait until week 2, after your body gets used to P90X, then you can add cardi in the morning three days a week(as they do in the "Doubles" rotation) or add a short cardio workout before the weight workout (moderate cardio) as an extended warm-up.
 
I followed the P90X Classic rotation with these changes:

Tuesday: GS Legs + Cardio
Daily Cardio: Ran on the treadmill after doing strength work
Recovery Weeks: ALL CATHE

Later, I came up with the brilliant idea to replace Legs & Back from P90X with the leg work from HSTA and I just paused and did the pull-ups between leg sets.

I am one of the VERY few here who never took to Tony so the series was hard for me and I used every opportunity to get my Cathe fix.

I swear I felt zero burn from Legs and Back (leg portion)and there's been a nagging worry in the back of my mind about what I'll be missing out on by keeping it in the rotation.
 
Because I'm trying to break thru a plateau to squash those last 10 lbs...this is my new sequence and the only thing I changed recently is the added cardio on weight days and yoga X on what would be my rest day. Now notice that I don't have a total leg workout per say simply because I have muscular legs and want to lean out right now.

Mon: Chest/back, Cardio X
Tues: Imax 3, Gymstyle legs(floor work only)
Wed: Shoulders/arms, Ab Ripper, Cardio X
Thurs: KickMax w/out leg portion, Gymstyle legs(floor work only)
Fri: Stepblast
Sat: KPC
Sun: Yoga X

I might add in one more ab Ripper if I feel like it but with this schedule I hit abs 3x week

Just my opinion, but P90X was the best fitness investment I've made for years, until the TLT's.
 
Kathryn - I am so interested to hear you say that. May I ask why? Do you feel they give you a more intense workout than Cathe? More balanced? What was it?

For me, it has no comparison for building upper body strength and toning and core strength.

The weight exercises are sequenced in a very effective way to allow for recovery (ie: one shoulder exercise, then a biceps exercise, then a triceps exercise, then repeat, then take an active stretch break and repeat the sequence with different exercises).

It is not MORE INTENSE than Cathe (especially the cardio), but I think it is more well-thought-out and balanced as a rotation, especially in regard to recovery (recovery workouts like stretch and yoga, recovery within the body of the workouts, a recovery week after every 3 weeks of hitting the weights hard). It's an entire rotation that was designed as such, with advanced weight work, moderate cardio, a great plyo workout that is effective without being a "jump as high as you can for as long as you can" type of plyo workout (again, well thought out and intelligent) and effective core work. I also liked the more "athletic" feeling cardio without a lot of cardio.

I can see the influence of functional training as well(Core Synergistics is very functional), and appreciate the obvious knowledge that is behind these workouts.

The only down side for me was the lower body work wasn't enough to challenge my glutes and keep them 'up where they belong'(or where I'd like them to belong!).

I did end up doing some extra, heavier, lower body work during the rotation, and subbing some more intense kickboxing for Kenpo X.
