P90X Shoulders and Arms - Kathryn?

For Kathryn or anyone else who has used this upper body workout . . . does "arms" include biceps and triceps? I found a way to just order this DVD for $29.95 and I've heard so much good about it, thought I would buy it if it covers bi, tri and shoulders. Thanks!

Thanks so much Kathryn. BTW, would you rate it as more difficult than any of Cathe's DVD's or are they too different to even rate them equally?

I'm with Kathryn as this is one of my fav's from P90X!...P90X workouts are definitely different than Cathe and IMO if I use heavier weight and less reps that does make the workout harder for me...but I did get great results....:)...Carole

Perhaps not "more difficult," but IMO "more effective" because of the sequencing of exercises, the balance of exercises, the pace (you go at your own pace). I was able to increase weights and/or reps with almost every workout with P90X.

If you want to discuss P90X more, why not take this over to the "open discussion" forum, since this is supposedly for discussion Cathe's workouts.

Ah, you're right, should have been in the open discussion. Thanks for the further information; I'm just going to go ahead and buy it! :)

To order just the DVD was it thru the p90X website or another website?

Thanks for the info

All four of their upperbody DVD's are outstanding for all of the above reasons. Shoulders and Arms happens to be my favorite too.
Chest and Back is a close second or tied with Chest, Shoulders, and Tri's, and Back and Biceps would probably come in last.... for some reason the cast in this one makes me a little crazy. I know...silly...but strictly personal preference. The workout is STILL great!! You have to get all four though...kind of helps to use two throughout the week and then two the next week. Just a thought. Always easy to spend someone elses money :7 :7 :7 :7

Hi Kathryn-

Sorry to butt in on this conversation! But would you rec. P90X over any of the Cathe videos? I am going to be purchasing them (I don't have any yet) and want to make sure I get the best ones!!

Thanks!

Interesting thread!

I was reading on another board, that the P90X series has "electric guitar ROCK music". Is this true? I was thinking about trying out the upper body workouts of this series, just to see if I can add on to some of the Cathe S&H upperbody splits, but IF P90X has "rock music", that's a no go for me. I've gotta have the high energy/techno that most Cathe dvds have, or I'll totally NOT be able to get into the workout. I've never been into rock, let alone any hard rock. Sad, that the music is so important to me, but it is. The music has got to make me want to dance/move. And Rock won't get me there at all. :+

Also, I read that this series has a ton of pushups. Is this so? That would be another reason for me to not go with the series. :( I have implants, and while I'm willing to do a few modified pushups (or even maybe try a full one), I don't want a ton of them, that I'll just end up skipping over.

I'm guessing that P90X just won't be for me. Am I right? :(

I'd be happy to discuss P90X more in the "Open Discussion" forum. I don't think this is the right place to do it.

which one of the two do you suggest? there is a shldrs and arms video and a chest and shldrs video i think. anyway there are two upper body workouts to choose from. i want to start with the best one of the two. laura

Shoulders and Arms is my favorite P90X weight workout. You could "fill in the blanks" with Cathe's S&H chest and back.

which one of the two p90x for the upper body would you suggest though? i m not sure of the two which everyone like the best. i just ordered slow and heavy and ctx from cathe workouts. but on the beachbody web site there was two different workout for the upperbody. i want to start out with one of them to see how i like them. laura

There's some misunderstanding here:

There are 4 different P90X upper body workouts : shoulder and arms; chest and back; chest/shoulders/triceps; back and biceps.

As I said, I would recommend Shoulders and arms.

Please ask any other P90X questions in the "Open Discussion" forum, since this forum is supposed to be for Cathe videos and DVD's.
