P90X RUT BUSTERS Check in week of 2-7

GOOD MORNING LADIES! :) This is week #3!! Let's all chime in and make a difference this week!

Yell at me...I did my C&B workout this morning but not Ab Ripper. Yes, I could have done it and gotten here a few minutes late but I chose not to this morning. every other morning so far I have pushed but today I didn't have it in me. I will do it tonight while dinner cooks...promise ;)

On the other hand, I did "big girl pushups" throughout the workout. I did at least 5 every set before I dropped to knees (but sometimes as many as 7 - I was also trying to conserve throughout the workout except for declines (kept those on knees up on my high step). I tried to focus on form and really hit them. I feel like I worked harder and my upper body feels sore!

Have a great day!
Christine

WHOO HOO week #3!!!! I am rejuvenated for this week!
Guess what!?!!? For those following the classic rotation - today is the last time for Chest & Back for A WHILE!!! Great job!! Kind of exciting, isn't it!?!?!
Christine - great job with the big girl push ups!!! I've got to say your enthusiasm is helpful for me - the other day at the gym I was walking to the locker room and thought, why not? And got down and did 7!! This morning I really tried hard too - good for you for getting at least 5 in each!! I tried too, but I have a real tough time with military push ups! ouch!!
Also you're so funny - I was going to ask you this morning how it went with doing ab ripper X before the workout, because I did the exact same thing you did this morning. Let's check each other tomorrow - you better get it in tonight!! And me too!
How's everyone else doing??

Ladies this weekend i did bad i was so sick i wasnt able to exercise and my eating was bad too. but tonight i will be doing upper body pyramid.

Hi everyone!! Me again - I just caught up reading the end of last weeks thread and I want to comment!! Great challenge Ima!!!! Ima gonna try it this week! And so impressive getting weights for mother's day! That's great! You are SO FIT!

Dominican1 - DON'T LET IT GET YOU DOWN!! Bounce right back! You have to take a break if you're not feeling well. You just can't let it hold you down. I was bad last week too because my DH was sick! Not even me! But this week I'm REJUVENATED!! Ready to go! Cheer up!

Bubbles- The back is definitely the one area I KNOW that will in no doubt be showing changes after this rotation. It's quite an amazing program for back workouts!!

I'm trying hard to get some pull-ups down too! I think it would be so awesome to just bang out some pull-ups! Defying gravity!

Hello All!

I was so very bad over the weekend. We had friends in for dinner yesterday afternoon and then went to a super bowl party in the evening and I ate everything in sight. I'm thinking these workouts are making me hungrier (or maybe that's just an excuse). Try again today.

Anyway, to do penance I did my core synergistics and then the step portion only of Step Blast right after that. That should burn off some of those Nachos!

Dominican, don't push yourself too hard when you're sick. You'll do more damage than good.

Christine, way to go on your pushups! I didn't do very well with the pushups in my workout this morning. I'm thinking too much wine yesterday didn't help. I didn't seem to have strength, but I did have aerobic energy. Does that make sense?

I'm saving my "Ima Challange" pushups for tonight.

Have a good day!

Bubbles

Not much over the weekend, but maybe a 20 minute run.
I did C&B this morning with abs from PUB.

I hate to go into the next three weeks, because i'm not real crazy a about not doing the strength work. I know core synergistics has a place, but i'm in it really to gain muscle.

what are you all going to do???

Anyway, i really did great with the pushups today. Started out strong, doing at least 10-12 pushups on my toes. The second round, couldn't do any on the toes for the diamond pushups or the military ones. Those just don't feel natural.

Yikes! I have a serious case of push-up envy.

I did LOTS more knee pushups today in Chest & Back than I have since I started. My muscles are coming back more quickly after my one-year hiatus than they originally took to build up a couple of years ago. Is that muscle memory or is that just a different mental attitude?

Next time they call for pushups I'm going to start on my toes and then go the knees if necessary.

Wendy, I don't really want to break from strength training, either. I'm going to keep mine going through week 3, as heavy as I can, but I will do all the core work, too. I want a stronger core.

Wendy & Amazon - You guys are going to double up for the fourth week? Both the same workouts from weeks 1 - 3 and also the rest week work? I am thinking of throwing in a couple of total body workouts during that week but no weights after Thursday for a litte break before phase two (just cardio and core).

Amazon - I am guessin that you have muscle memory. It is always easier to build up once you have already been there compared to the initial build.

Wendy - diamonds and militaries feel a little odd to me too!

Ruppie - it's going to be a tough fight to do AR tonight. I will have to guilt myself into it ;)

Anyone here get Hardcore yet? I haven't even gotten the email that mine shipped yet and I cannot remember when I ordered it. I will have to check at home.

Bubbles - No "Ima Challenge" for me today...I just cannot do another push up today!!!!!!

:p

Edited to say - has anyone seen the "Has this Forum Changed?" thread? DO you think we ought to move this check in to another board b/c it is not a Cathe rotation?

Hi Ladies! I did Back & Chest, then Ab RipperX, then ran on the treadmill. Once again, I failed to do Stretch yesterday. By the time my rest day arrives, I need a "Tony Break".

I did do the "Ima Challenge" yesterday and did 16 on my toes! I colapsed on 17 so I didn't count it. I didn't do it today because of today's workout. I think I was doing as many as 14 before taking it to my knees, but usually it was more like 10.

Diamond push-ups are super weird for me too! On the decline, I go slower than a turtle and cannot do more than 7!

Is anyone else a tad concerned about Tony's pace at times? Sometimes the super fast works but other times I think it is dangerous. The lawnmowers are a little fast, almost ALL of the leg work on Legs and Back is too fast and the mason twists on AbRipperX are insanely fast! I have been modifying some of the moves to make them feel more safe and effective. There are some moves on AbRipperX that I don't do at all, instead I do a Cathe ab move.

My eating was HORRIBLE over the weekend but am serious about it now. Shooting for a super clean week! Boy, I need it!

I don't think we need to move the updates to another board, mostly because some here are totally using Cathe workouts for the challenge and I, for one, have/will be adding some of her workouts throughout the week. I think this thread is way more "health/fitness" related than most of the other posts in this forum. The way I look at it, we are here to make friends and talk to people who can relate. We are here to help eachother and that is what this challenge is all about! I never once found myself offended or irritated by a thread here and hope others do not as well. I think we are fine, we all get along, we all like eachother, we are having fun, I doubt Cathe would be offended. Besides, we are not here encouraging and pushing others to do P90X over Cathe and STOP buying Cathe (she would have to display some very disgusting behavor for me to ever do that). Right now we are doing "mostly" P90X and I still say Cathe is the best, the baddest, most awesome there is.}( LOVE HER!!!!

Wow!! We are becoming quite the pushup group here!! EVeryone is really coming along with the pushups!

I think next week i'm going to keep with this rotation one more week. I'm not ready for a lighter week yet}(

NO, i'm not going to double up on workouts, just keep with the chest and back and shoulders arms, and a leg workout.

I can't believe it, when i first got p90x in August, i absolutely despised chest and back, and now i love it.

Of course, when hardcore arrives, i'll be working those in as well.

I decided this week, i want to focus on building some real muscle. I'm using protein shakes, and eating lots of cottage cheese. I feel so much stronger now-a-days, i figure i better clean up the diet ;)

Tomorrow, think i'll do a spinerval.

Ima, I think that fast pace is a man thing. I see guys at the gym, and they pound out the reps as fast as they can. A lot of times it's lousy form, too. And then I go in there and go slow and steady...I must look like a zombie in comparison. Zombie Weight-Training, that's me.

Christine, I think we are fine here, really. I'm one of the people doing a lot of Cathe and am waiting for Hardcore and I think Dominican is, too. We are always talking about Cathe's workouts having more of a fun factor than P90X. I think we are a big, fat, Cathe Commercial!

Maybe it would be a little more PC to change the title to "Rutbusters Hardcore/P90X" though.

Margaret, I messed up at a Superbowl party, too. Nothing too bad, just a bunch of corn chips--my downfall. I'm staying sugar-free, though. I think I've lost a few pounds already. My clothes are looser.

I just got my shipping notice. They're supposed to arrive 11-Feb. Woo hoo! I can hardly wait for her gym-style DVDs.

Got my Hard Core shipping notice. Yipee! I agree, Amazon. It would be more PC to change the title as you suggest.

This morning I did Cardio X and some leg work from Super Sets. Can't wait to work in some hard core!

Margaret

HEY EVERYONE!!!
Today plyo X for me. Wasn't too bad. I bet you guys take water breaks. But me, I take Guinness breaks!!!
Hahaha that's my dog's name. He sits and just waits so eagerly for those 30 second breaks where I'll come and pet him.
Christine - did you do it!??!?! (AbX) I bow to you if you did. I have to admit I didn't ;( I got swept up after work and just couldn't fit it in.
I got my hardcore shipping notice too!! I can't wait to see them, I imagine it's going to be so overwhelming to see all those DVDs at once! But I am going to try and finish out the P90X rotation first. I'll think of it as preparation. And I might sneak a few in once and a while too.
Well guys, we're doing great. Anyone noticing any differences? I know Bubbles noticed her back muscles!!
I'm finding I am SUPER hungry. I mean ridiculously. eat eat eat eat eat!

Hello everyone. I just need to said that last night i did the premix of upperbody pyramid and this morning i did kpc. i feel great.

Hey, all!

I did Step Blast all the way through without breaking my neck! Hooray!

Actually, I did Step Blast and then some, because that third combo always messes me up and I did it twice to get it right. I had to modify because I was tired (like plain old repeaters instead of those fast repeaters) but I DID IT!

Woo hoo!

cardio day here as well. Did 50 minutes of spinerval.
if i have time later, i may throw in some stretch. I feel like i need it LOL

I'm with you... hungry, hungry hungry!!!!!

Oh Wendy and Ruppie! Thank you, thank you, thank you! I'm so glad to hear how hungry someone else is. I thought it was just me. Whew!

Margaret

:7 :7 :7

A bunch of starving rut busted rut busters! Gives an image of a bunch of crazies running around, doesn't it?

What are you guys doing with the extra yearn for food? I'm TRYING to eat clean, but the constant munchies keep making it a little tough. Turns out I end up eating a lot of nuts - almonds to be precise. I also have bought those little yogurt sized snack packs of cottage cheese. Hmmmm.. maybe I'll have one now. I'm also thinking possibly those little round cheese things (bonnie cow?). All these snacks are nice and full of protein, but I have a hard time overlooking their fat content!

So I see from my email I'm scheduled to have the Hardcores waiting for me when I get home. I really want to finish out this P90X rotation as written, but it's going to be tough when I see them! Think it will be bad to do them on the rest/stretch day!?!?
:p

I AM HUNGRY TOO!!! Actually, I was trying to follow the p90X eating plan and it allowed for just enough breaded carbs to make me crave them contantly. The past two days I went back to the "Zone" eating plan and I am feeling much better!

Well, I didn't do PlyometricsX today. Instead I did HSTA and ran on the treadmill. I am having a heck of a time with these workouts because I don't enjoy them! Cathe works me harder and I look forward to them and enjoy the blood and sweat during Cathes workouts.

HOWEVER, I am not yet willing to put P90X away becaue I, too, am starting to see some improvements, the very changes I was seeking. While doing HSTA, I was FINALLY able to keep up with Cathe during the decline push-ups. When Cathe did singles, I had to stay at the two/two count but NOT TODAY!!! I kept pace (except for the last ones). The push-up at the very end, using the step, shifting one arm on/one arm off...seemed easier too. Still a tough workout!

O.k., time for the "Ima Challenge"...(pause so I can pump out a few)...17 very painful, still sore from yesterdays workout, big girl push-ups! Yowlsa!!! Feeling quite the burn!

Actually, I just finished a small dish of almonds. Earlier today I had low fat cheese sticks and walnuts. I feel like an eating machine. My Hardcores are scheduled for delivery tomorrow. I know I'll be adding those into my rotation. I too don't want to give up on the P90X program either.
