P90X Rut Busters Check in - week of 2/14

Good Morning,

Did Kick Max instead of Kenpo today. The leg drills were intense. I'm sure I'll feel it in my legs later.

Almost skipped Core syn yesterday but my son (15) was dressed and waiting for me to do it with him. He's also helping me with my pull ups. :)

Still working on my diet. Some days I just feel like I'm starving.

Working on my diet too. I've been trying to enter everything in fitday, and it really looks like i'm eating too much (trying to get in my protein AND my fiber AND my flax....)

Tomorrow if my legs aren't too sore, i think i'll try gs legs.
if not, then another upper body. it's so fun having new workouts.

BTW, how was muscle max/?? for everyone who tried it, did you think it was challenging? I'm trying to build muscle, so i don't waste alot of time on endurance style or light weights.

Hey ladies :)

I did Core Syn this morning. I did better than I ever thought I would 3.5 weeks ago when I previewed the workout but there is definitely room for improvement ;) I had some "logistical" troubles when doing banan rolls! Picture this: trying to fit all six feet of me in my small living room and rolling back and forth! ha ha ha!

Ims Challenge last night: 16! They were shallow. I was (and still am) SUPER sore in the chest. But SIXTEEN! Tonight I will break off the Ima Challenge and hit it again tomorrow when I am (hopefully) not so sore.

Tomorrow morning is KenpoX! I like this workout a lot :) Then I will be back on the rotation Friday with YogaX!

Hey, gang! I did Muscle Max today and I adore the music, especially the tune when you first start doing pushups. It was really motivating and I've been dum-dumming it all day.

I couldn't decide whether it was an endurance workout or not. The first part, with the squats, were definitely endurance. But the upper body was more like muscle-building in that it was slow. But there were a lot more reps and I did have to go down in my weights.

I liked the slower changes between weights. One thing I didn't like: that dynaband. I will never like leg presses or tricep kickbacks with a band instead of weights!

It's not an endurance workout like Muscle Endurance or Power Hour, two titles I never liked much.
 
KenpoX is out of the way. Tomorrow I join you guys for Yoga! Saturday I will do Core Syn and then Sunday I am going to try out Cathe’s Gym Style Legs. Give those legs a little “pop” before phase two begins on Monday ;) I may stick in a premis of one of Cathe's cardio segments on Saturday or Monday too, just b/c I am off work and have some extra time. We will see what the week brings!

One thing that I noticed is that my core is tight today after Core Syn yesterday. I have a lot of soreness on my sides and back and some in the abs. Does this mean that I actually did some of those moves correctly?

For those that have done this rotation before, will I hurt myself by swapping Chest, Shoulders & Triceps (Monday) with Back & Biceps (Wednesday) next week just for the first week so that CS&T is in Wed. and B&B is on Monday? I ordered new bands and really want to use them for CS&T but they do not arrive until Tuesday! I figure the worst thing about it will be that on Thursday when I do yoga, I will be sore in my chest but I don’t see any other issues. Do you!?

No Ima Challenge today. I am too too sore :p Tomorrow I will work on depth during my challenge.

I didn't check in yesterday. I skipped Kenpo and did HSTA and Core Max #1.

Today I did Low Max and ran on the treadmill. I think today we were supposed to rest but I can't do two rest days in one week. Sunday I will rest. I did 23 again on the Ima Challenge and I am probably going to add the "pikes on the ball" to the challenge. I know mine need work!

I will be MIA until Sunday. Going to Akron for a family wedding and visiting other family as well. Speaking of which, need to go pack...we are leaving in a few hours. I will be taking P90X with me!
 
I did Imax 3 today instead of Cardio X. That was a tough one. My back is actually sore from Kenpo yesterday. I think it's because I didn't keep my core tight when I was twisting to throw the punches.

I haven't looked at Phase 2 of P90X for the lean rotation, but I know I'll sub in some Hardcore for some of them.

Today, i got up at 6am and did tricep/chest..from HC. and at 840am did low max the entire tape is great. i feel good.


SARAH, i got my step two days ago and i love itttttttttt. but i feel bad with my little one. i am going to see if i find someone around my area that needed.

by the way i didnt workout yesterday. i lot of rouning around.
so it counts like a workout.

Hmmmm, worked late today.. DD is having some "friend issues' needed to talk. I got home from work and spent some time with her.
Anyway, locked myself in,started hardcore exteme, workout one, and got thru about 2/3 of it, and she needed mom again.

So, workouts today weren't too good. Tomorrow, biceps, shoulders, triceps and hopefully some core.

I'm off track!!! I need a good old fashion run outdoors, but the weather stinks!

No workouts for me today. I threw out my back, I believe doing Kenpo the other day. I was in such pain last night I could hardly sleep. Went to the doctor's today, and he snapped it back, so I feel better now. Guess I'll do the stretch and yoga workouts for a few days. On the brighter side, my doctor said "Wow you look great! Have you been working out?" (This was not a come on - my doctor is a happily married female).

I've had my share of back issues in the past, i remember times when i couldn't even go up the stairs upright.

Did gs shoulders, bicep/back today. I like this workout!!
Started to do lowmax, but i wasnt' into it, so after three intervals, quit. Don't know why i just wasnt' in the mood for cardio today.

how's everyone else doing?
 
Hey ladies! Did Core Syn yesterday and up for Yoga today. I may go to the gym with BF and get some cardio in as well. Not really for the cardio but just b/c we rarely get to go to the gym together ;) That Core Syn workout is a toughie! My core really feels it the next day!

BB screwed up on my order BIGTIME! They held my EXPRESS order up entirely b/c one item was backordered. BUT that had to be shipped separately anyway. Plus, they never even called! So on the day that it was set to arrive, it had not been mailed. I was boilin'!

I am a dummy! I was thinking that I needed my pull up bar or bands for CS&T Monday but I really need them for B&B on Wed., right? I was all mad that I had to switch my workout b/c I would not have the bands, but I don't need them MOnday anyways! Duh! Sometimes I don't use my brain :)

Looks like evryone is still on track! Just think - MOnday starts Phase two!
 
Hi Everybody,

Have to make up core from yesterday and then yoga today. Plus I really would like to add some cardio for the next 2 days.

Is anybody following the P90X eating plan? The way they suggest to figure your calories seems really high.
On the other hand with what I'm doing now I feel hungry and then go on to eat junk food. Which totally defeats the hard work I'm doing with my workouts.

Any suggestions would be appreciated,

I looked at the plan and decided that I could just adapt it to what I do now b/c it is very close to how I eat already. The ting I need to incorporate is to get more protein in during phase two. I think I will add a second protein shake, if possible. As it is, I don't always get the first one in! ;)

If you are interested in following their plan, you can get a month free of a trial membership at Beachbody right now or join for a year for $20 (they say you saeve $135 for the year). That's a great edeal if you are going to actually use it! It has some great tools for meal planning and suggestions, etc. and helps you along with counting calories, etc.
 
I had to share my story with you guys. I am convinced that I was "punished" today for skipping out on Yoga and oding something outside instead.

I walked the lake today with my dog (3 miles) and did the floor work from Gym Style legs. That was tough! She uses that band and gets right in the ass cheek! That is a great add on for after a walk or hike to really get in those glutes! Anyways, it was nice by the lake today too. Cold and windy in some areas but I was glad to have gotten out and gotten some air. The dogs really needed it too. Nikki (my female) walked around with me and she was so happy to be out that she behaved like an angel. Timber was sort of bugged when I had him out. I wonder if he heard soemthing that I didn't like a dog or something.

Listen to this & get ready to laugh! I had my male, Timber, on the long forty foot lead and I was throwing the ball. He still makes me a little nervous that he will take off so this method is a great way to run him without worrying. I was sort of on guard b/c he was very antsy (even for being in the park) so I threw the ball and held onto the leash. Usally I just let it go along behind him on the ground and run along side him but for some reason I didn't do that. Well, the ball hit a patch of ice when it went to land and it popped up and before I could make myself move any faster, he was off like a shot. THe bounce motivated him to run even harder than he already was and I felt a strong tug, a pull forward and I fell on my side...then he dragged me for a second before he realized that I was down and turned back around to come back to me. I was on my side and I rolled over to my back, laughing of course, and taking inventory to see if anything felt hurt. :) These people were there with their kid and they were horrified, even after they heard me DYING laughing on the ground. Hey, what are you going to do? My wrist is a little sore but I am very lucky that I didn't hurt myself b/c I used both arms to break my fall and then fell rather hard on frozen solid ground. Spazz! I LOOKED LIKE A CARTOON! HA HA HA! :+

...the morale of my story is that I should have stayed home and did YogaX!

Tomorrow is rest. I think that I will take in another section of StretchMax.
 
LOL:7 :7 :7 I'm getting quite a mental image of you and your dogs!!! Sounds like fun, and don't forget what cathe says "laughing is great for the abs!"

Much funner than yoga too :)


Me: did spinerval for 50minutes yesterday. today was going to be rest but dh just mentioned going out to dinner to some new chinese buffet nearby. I hate buffets ;) I can never help myself from overeating.

I did core syn today, should have done more, cause we went to the *&^% chinese buffet my dh has been talking about. How can you control yourself at a buffet???? I never knew there were so many chinese foods!!!

anyway, chest and tricep hardcore for me tomorrow.
