P90X January Starters, Wednesday!!!

Just incase y'all didn't see them, I posted some personals last night so you had better go back and read them!:7

Today is Back and Biceps/ARX.

ARX is growing on me. I have started modifying it a bit and find it much more enjoyable now. I do not feel the need to do ALL of the exercises or all of the reps. I probably skip 3 exercises every time I do it now but it allows me to give a better effort to the ones that I do. I can do more reps and just put out a better over all effort. Some exercises I can always complete the reps, others I can't but this way I do a better job all the way around.:) I try to rotate the exercises I skip but I must admit that I find leg climbs to be really silly so I haven't done them since I started doing the work out like this.:p

No DOMS from my leg work out YET. I would like some. We'll see what the day brings!}(
 
Hi Wendy - I will go back and read your personals in a sec ;-)

Today I have Shoulders and Arms with ARX. I really like your idea about ARX. I find it very tough, but with your suggestions I would definitely like it better and get a better workout on the ones that I do.

Looks like you and I are the early X posters in this group! :) This doesn't mean that the rest of our gals are sleeping in or being lazy...just that they don't feel an undying need to get on Cathe.com the minute they open thier eyes in the morning! LOL :p

I have come to the conclusion that I definately like the Phase 1 work outs better then Phase 2. I have to complete this week and do my recovery week and then I get to revisit Chest and Back and Shoulders and Arms! YEAH!}(
 
Too funny, Wendy, I turn my computer on the minute I wake - grab my coffee and here I am.:7 :7 :7

I didn't sleep good at all last night. DH shot pool last night so he was snoring up a storm when he got home. x( Besides that our bed is really worn out :p (that sounded funny) so I think we are going to look into a sleep number bed. :)

Oh how I HATE snoring! UGH! x( Thankfully my DH only snores on rare occassions and is pretty easy to stop with a poke or a shake. :) I used to date a BIG TIME snorer! I actually had thoughts of marrying him at one point! How I would have survived, I have NO IDEA!:eek:

Our bed is worn as well so I know what you mean. We are going to be buying a nice fluffy pillow top mattress soon. }(

I do the same thing by the way...I get up, use the potty, put coffee on and turn on the 'puter! I'm addicted! I do watch the news while posting though so it's not TOO bad!:p
 
LOL - not sleeping in here ;) I am an evening exerciser - I just don't know how you guys do it in the morning!!! I would love love to switch, but I just don't seem to get with it in the morning....

Last night I did plyo x and maybe it was me - but I really tried jumping as high as I could and I definitely sweated it out much more! Loved it :)

Tonight is Back/Biceps and Arx....

ARX is still boring to me, but I do it - - would much rather be doing CoreMax.....uggs, but I am just sticking it out another five weeks here with ARX and then will be HAPPILY grabbing Coremax again :)

(Phase 2 - week 8 - recovery week - my version classic)

SLEEPING IN?? I wish!!! Last night was one of those nights!! I was up and down - at 12:30 - 1:30 - 3:00 - then 5:00 (alarm goes off at 6:20) .. DH on midnights and my babies were on super patroll - they kept waking me up .. think coyotes were on the move outside. x(

I am feeling much better - and a LOT stronger - thanks Ladies! Dang stomach bug!!

Well .. on my messed up week last week - (thanks for all the advice) I decided to do my own thing (surprise surprise) and try to follow the basic principle of the recovery week .. I only missed one weight workout (tricep and chest) .. and w/my work in my classes I did hit those muscles .. maybe not to the level P90X does ..but they got worked .. the main thing I missed was the yoga and abs .. so I am going to try to fit in an extra yoga workout and some extra ARX workouts (is that possible?) .. LOL ..I know I loosely translate the classic version .. but I still manage to fit in all the workouts AND teach my classes at night!

Marcia - (think it was you) your weigh in is soon .. today?? right?? good luck!! and don't worry if the scale does not show what you think it should .. muscle weighs more than fat .. so you may be shedding the fat and putting on some muscle!! let us know!

Reba - I am w/you .. I can not force myself into getting up early to exercise .. one reason is b/c I don't sleep good .. and yes DH when he is home SNORES .. OMG .. such a problem that he sleeps in the other bedroom when he is real tired!

Wendy - I am w/you ARX is not my favorite .. but is different from what I usually do so I always feel it .. and I always modify on certain ones and skip one of them completly .. I think that ARX works not only your abs and obliques but works the crap out of your hip flexors and legs ...

OK .. I have got to get to work b-4 they fire me .. (I have typed this twice the first one dissapeared??) ...

Hi Everyone,

Well I'm not guilty of sleeping in today. I was up at 5:20 am putting the overnight coffee cake in the oven so it would be ready for my son before he had to go to school. My baby is 11 today:)

I always have good intentions, but exercising at night just doesn't work out for me. Between doing laundry, cooking dinner, checking homework, grocery shopping etc, there just isn't time for a workout. I'm a day behind but I did do core synergistics this morning. I'll should be all caught up this weekend-I hope. My DS is having a slumber party and they will be sleeping in my workout room in basement.

Wendy-good luck training. My first 1/2 was pretty bad. I never really trained but I enjoyed running. I had run numerous 10k's and figured it couldn't be that hard. Well I hit the wall at about 101/2 miles. Those last 3 miles were really hard on me. I walked and ran just to pass the time. The others have gone much better. Keep training, you will know when your ready to tackle the 1/2.

Reba-I really like plyo x too. It is a great workout, especially if you put your all into it. I don't know how you can stand ARX. I do it once a week but do other ab work for the other 2 workouts.

Marcia-Good luck at your weigh in today. Keep up with the good work. I am right there with ya!

Laura-Glad you are feeling so much better. I know for me, when I do not get a good nights sleep, I am totally unproductive and usually don't have enough energy to work out. Hope you sleep better tonight.

KenpoX is done!! YAYAYAAYAYA ..

and it is humid here today .. and I sweated like a maniac (for a lunch workout) and had to come back to work .. I hate that!

.. my arms were on fire today ???:eek: I guess the planks in the core workout was why?? or either I was punching the crap out of that humid air!! LOL

Kenpo is not like the kickboxing classes I am used to .. quite different .. but for some reason it was funner this time .. ?? strange! guess I was just in the mood for it!

B&B/ARX is done. I had shakey hand syndrome while trying to record my #'s during the work out today. I LOVE when that happens...so long as I can still read what I've written!;) :7 }(

I can't believe I have only a few more days until I hit the recovery week of Phase 2! I am having such an unbelievable time doing this rotation! I am going to miss it when I am done but I know I have to change it up a bit. I need to get in a bit more running and I miss my Cathe cardio!;( I will, however, probably construct a "faux" X rotation to follow!;)

Off to get some coffee now!:9
 
Just checking in quick - I'm so nervous for my weigh-in. I sure hope you are right, muscle weighs more than fat so hopefully that's where the change will come, but my scale as only been going UP-UP-UP x( :-( x( :-(

Marcia: You won't neccessarily see big losses with the X...well, not yet anyway. You are doing Doubles so in phase 2 when the cardio picks up you are more likely to see it reflected in the scale. For right now I'd put more emphasis on the mirror, the measuring tape and perhaps how your clothes fit.

Fingers crossed that you are succeeding no matter what that stupid scale says!!!!:D :D :D
 
Hello girls

I'm here finally! Super busy day....after work, hurried home to do S&A with ARX, hopped in the shower, took DS to TaiKwanDo, took other DS to library, hurried home to pick up DH to head out to parent teacher conferences, then out to dinner, then home for last minute homework and phone calls and FINALLY to the computer.:7 :p Whew!!

Wasn't quite sure how S&A was going to go since I still have DOMS from Mondays workout....Phase 1 workouts definitely get ya good! I can't believe only a week and a half and it's over, but I'm really excited to get my pics and compare them to the start day pics.

I still have a bunch of computer work to do, so I'll check back in tomorrow, hopefully for personals....
