P90X January Starters, TGIF!!!

CLASSIC/PHASE 3/WEEK 10/DAY 5

Hey X'ers!

I'm in a bit of a quandry here. My stinkin' legs are still sore from BBC the other day and I have Legs and Back on tap! YIKES! I also want to take a spin class and run AND I have ARX and yoga to do! OMG!!! LOL I think I will just do Yoga on Sunday instead of taking a complete rest day-that should work. I am thinking of taking my spin class tonight and then doing Legs and Back in the morning before I head to the gym for the run. I can do ARX today or tomorrow. It doesn't really matter. Sound good? If ya have any other suggestions, throw em at me!:)

Gotta go...have to pack up the little guy...he's spending the weekend with his grandma and aunt and I'm dropping him off right from work this afternoon.

Good morning

Wendy, you amaze me. I can't believe you can do all of that working out. I don't have nearly half of your stamina. I don't have any suggestions because I'd probably take a "rest" weekend, lol. You make me tired just reading all that you plan to do.

I did GS BSB last evening and my biceps are already talking to me. I love that series. Next week is the Pyramids which I also love. I think tonight I have LIC and tomorrow B&G. I think it's a good rotation that I'm following. I feel good.

Angie, are you a nurse also? I hear you - the stress of working in a hospital is overwhelming. When I hear people complain about nursing care (and I have myself when my mom was in the hospital) I always stick up for nurses. It's an impossible job and I recommend to everybody to stay out of a hospital for as long as possible. I don't trust that a nurse can give proper care because of the assignments that they have to take on. It's very sad!!!! Yes, the school schedule is a wonderful thing....it's doesn't pay as much as the hospital but the hourly wage is about the same I just don't work during the summer and breaks so the salary is spread out over the year. It's still a very good deal and I make "decent" money when you take into account that I only work out 9 months a year.

Hi, Wendy and Nancy and the rest who follow :)

Today I have L&B and ARX. Not much going on today for me (whew!) so I'm sure to get this workout in and 'maybe' a little work on the elliptical to get ready for running. The weather just isn't cooperating or maybe it's my schedule ;-) so I'm finding it hard to get outside and don't have a TM. x(

I was going to go out and run yesterday morning, but the minute I opened the door all I heard were coyotes howling, soooooo......I decided on an inside workout instead. It's dark out and we live in the country so I was a little unnerved about running in the dark with those 'animals' out there. ;-)

Wendy .. WOW .. once again your schedule amazes me .. and I am going to kick your butt for telling me about BBC .. I got on the website .. looks like I will be purchasing yet another workout series .. { sigh } .. it looks like fun and tough workouts .. and if you are STILL sore in the legs .. YIKES .. I am scared!

Nancy .. I would love to have a school's schedule .. and not only do you have more time off .. you are still in the field you love with way less stress .. gotta be good. Nurses amaze me .. I have a friend that is a RN and she has told me LOTS of horror stories .. NO WAY could I take a job like that .. although rewarding .. what crap ya'll have to take!! YIKES ...

Angie and Marcia ... sounds like ya'll had great workouts too!!

It was nice to get home early last night .. I actually got my floors cleaned .. mopped .. and vaccuumed .. WOW .. what you can get done with a couple extra hours!!

today I think is Kenpo .. then tommorrow legs and back .. then Sunday yogax .. no rest day for me this week!!!

OH .. and SIL .. yeah .. she IS seeing results .. she is hit and miss w/the workouts and she is tiny but strong .. a cardio queen .. and now she actually has muscles in her upper body ..:7 ... she hates working w/weights .. but loves doing the X ..

Marcia, lol, I laughed when I read that you were afraid to run with the 'animals" out there. Yeah...we have animals here in NYC too, just a different kind - lol!!!! I live on Staten Island, a borough of NYC, but more like a suburb. Not too many dangerous animals around here - any kind, but it's still scary being out early, alone, and in the dark.

Wow, Laura - your SIL is seeing results so quickly. That's amazing. Maybe you can convert her to a weight-lifting queen.

I'll be back.........it's quiet here today. I saw 47 kids yesterday. Everybody's sick - the weather is crazy. Almost 80 on Wednesday and snowing today.x( x(

Nancy ..

Yeah .. SIL .. she is one of "those" people .. makes you sick. She is beautiful .. TINY .. about 5'2" ... 120 pounds .. itty bitty waist .. bubble butt .. beautiful legs .. upper body is VERY small .. she runs a lot and does Cathe's cardio step workouts .. and MY class .. LOL .. eats HORRIBLY .. LOVES sweets .. can probably out drink some men ...and is still TINY ..

.. yup .. she had my nephew and the day she got home fit into the jeans she wore before she got pregnant .. :eek: .. YUP .. sickening!!

.. I do weights in my classes .. and she started doing some of the combo weight/cardio w/Cathe .. but she HATES weight work .. and now she is ASKING to do the X weight work with me .. she saw my results and could not stand it .. and unlike me .. she only does a couple and BAM .. beautiful slender muscles popping up on her .. { sigh }

I am lucky .. b/c my brother married someone who loves the outdoors like me .. in fact she is more of a tomboy than me .. and she LOVES to exercise .. she is my exercise partner in crime!!!:7

Yeah, Laura, I see what you mean!!! She's so tiny. However, you look great in that pic too!!!!!! You're very fit. I wish I had a "partner in crime" like that too. I got into exercise to help a friend lose some weight about 8 - 9 years ago. Yup, she lost over 100 lbs. and looked great. I was at my peak then too - I never needed to lose much (just a couple, as usual) but I really was lean and fit. We were at the gym together, walked to California (and back) around our neighborhood - those were good times. However, she fell off the bandwagon a few years back and I bet she has put back on about 50 lbs. although we never discuss it anymore. I miss my exercise friend, and although we're still BEST friends, we're not exercise buddies anymore. Now I workout at home (all alone:( ). I often mention my dvds and stuff but she changes the subject so I don't push it - at all.

I'll be back, I'm sure......lol.

Hi Everyone,

I didn't have a chance to do pushup/pullup torture yesterday so I did it this morning:) The second half just flew by! I followed that up with coremax 3. I plan on running at lunch since it should be mid 60's today. I might try to do a leg workout tonight, cardio tomorrow and legs & back on Sunday. I start week 12 on Monday.

Wendy-Honey, there is simply not enough hours in the day to spin, run, do arx, legs & back and yoga. Your just gonna have to pick one or two, but not all of them. Of course maybe if we were single and didn't have kids or jobs, maybe we could do all those workouts in one day:)

Nancy-Are you finished with the X. I see you are doing more Cathe weight workouts. I love the GS too.

Marcia-I'm glad you didn't take your chances with the 'animals' out there. I get scared when dogs come around me when I'm running.

Poochy-You look great and so does your SIL. It's hard not to make comparisons, but we are all individuals and respond differently to different stimuli.

Angie-How is your psuedo X rotation going?

ARGH! The weather is bad here so any plan I THOUGHT I had today has been shot to bits! Now it's going to take me an hour just to decide what work outs to do between today and tomorrow!x( x( x( I'm like a little kid who doesn't get her way when my work out plans get screwed up! LOL :7

I hear you Wendy. The weather is lousy. I can't wait to get out of work. One hour to go. Parents are saying that the weather is really lousy!!!

Diana - No.....unfortunately I wasn't feeling it anymore for the X. My eating was out of control and I was looking "puffy". I wasn't getting DOMS like I do with Cathe so I'm doing FitnessFreak's Jan. Rotation which reminded me a bit of the X but with Cathe. I'm feeling it!!!!! I would like to go back to the X someday when I feel I'm ready. I did finish 60 days and then stopped working out altogether for more than a week and knew I better do something, and quick. I'm feeling good and I hope to keep this up!x(

Ok, be careful anyone dealing with this snowstorm!!!!

Hi Girls,

I ran for an hour at lunch. The temperature was perfect but it was quite windy wich wasn't much fun. It's nice to get outside now while the weather is nice. You never know when it's gonna take a turn for the worse.

What did you decide to do Wendy?

Nancy-Good job finishing 60 days. My motivation has been waning since starting phase 3. I'm basically just sick of doing the same workouts for 3 months. I do see some changes in my upper body, but my problem areas are on my lower body. Go figure:-( I only have 2 weeks left and will finish this rotation. I'm also going to do a fitness freak rotation starting in April, it's an endurance rotation.

Hi ladies

Well I did S&A today. I just love the X - it's so much better to do it when it's by choice! Not sure what I'll do tomorrow, but I'm leaning towards coresyn....we'll see.

Wendy - I'm with Nancy on this - I'm exhausted just reading your post - whew! Glad I was sitting down.:7 So, what did you come up with?

Marcia - I hear you about the critters. One time I went biking around here, one of the neighbors dogs almost attacked me - I don't think I ever went so fast on that bike in my life - scared the crap out of me. Now I don't leave the house without pepper spray. It makes me mad because we live in a pretty rural area and I shouldn't be afraid to enjoy it, but I doubt I will ever forget that incident.

Laura - You and SIL look great! I'm so jealous. Have you been seeing good results with the X or were you that buff before you started the X?

Diana - Faux X is going pretty good. A mix of Cathe and Tony just seems to fit perfectly. Plus, I'm down another pound this week and I'm still liking what I see in the mirror. I have been able to match and sometimes top the weights in the X that I was doing before, so I'm sure I'm still making gains.

Nancy - Yup - I'm a nurse too but I don't really use my license anymore. DH and I own and operate a trucking company. I prefer doing the books to nursing. I like being my own boss and setting my own hours. Of coarse, being self employed has it's drawbacks but I still like it better than nursing. Not that there is less stress, it's just a different kind of stress....know what I mean? I'm good with numbers and finances so this is a nice fit for me and I find it challenging to balance it all. I thought it might be kinda boring after the hospital routine, but there's ALWAYS something to do!

So, is anyone going to show up over the weekend??? ;)

Oh girls...as Tony would say I "dogged it" today. All I've done is BBC non-treadmill cardio only of shoulders and back. :-( It's just been one of those days...ACK! Well there is no way I'll get EVERYTHING in this week now so I'll just do what I can. Hopefully my legs won't hurt tomorrow so I can atleast get L&B done! I also want to run at the gym. I am considering yoga in a little while but I don't know if I have it in me tonight....PHOOEY! I hate times like these. x( There's also ARX to contend with....Oh dear!:eek:
