Good Morning Ladies.

I have a "date" today with the ITri I downloaded and GSBS&B timesaver.}(

It's gonna be another hot one...atleast around the tri-state area so stay cool if you can!:)

Cathy: The other night felt like a reaction due to the med I take for my neck. I take the generic form of Relafen and this drug came with 2 pages of warnings! Anyway, it says it can make you drowsy/dizzy. It's never done it before so when I felt that way it scared me. I ended up being fine though. :)

Laura: Your DH certainly DOES have a good heart! There IS such a thing as being TOO good though cause then you can get taken advantage of and unfortunately those who help everyone are usually the ones left out in the cold when THEY need help with something. :-( Glad you got a much needed haircut!

Diana: Hope Jerod is home safe by now. It will take 4-6 weeks to get my exam grades back. UGH! Thankfully Joey didn't really understand where we were going on Sunday so when we didn't go there he didn't know the difference!:)

Cathy: The cert process you are going through sounds intense. I wonder why the results take so long to get back? 4-6 weeks doesn't sound so bad anymore!:p So I am thinking that you have always liked school? You continue to go back yourself AND you teach! You've GOTTA love it. Good for you! :) So did you get all of your homework done, young lady? ;)

Angie: Yeay for you and your time alone w/o the kids! My DS is going to my MIL's for the weekend this w/e. We will be with them/him Saturday night into Sunday but will have time to ourselves from friday evening through saturday afternoon.:) Trust me girl I have dragged my feet BIG TIME on completing my certification exam! I got the materials in JANUARY!!!! My original due date was May 15 and I called for an extension which lasted until July 15. I am no student!LOL Once I am certified I need to get my CPR cert and then I am going to send out resumes to the area gyms and see if I get any bites. SOMEBODY's gotta be willing to hire a BRAND NEW trainer, right???

Mornin girls

Feels strange (but good) to be in the house all by myself on a Tuesday morning.:) As always, there's lots of cleanmax to do and, of coarse, the trailer is trashed.:-( But, we're not going camping this weekend and I feel like shopping - sooooo shopping it is. Nothing too fun mind you. I need to make a walmart run and a grocery store run. The walmarts in Michigan have horrible produce.x( But, you'd be just crazy to buy household stuff anywhere else. I also have a car load of recyclables to take back since they are really starting to pile up. Then, I'll get home in time for T-storms it looks like - which I love and I'm looking forward to the cooler weather on the back side of it. Hopefully I can get Powermax done before the storms roll thru.

Wendy - Oh yes, I forgot about the extension.:D That's me!! LOL! This is why I often times am doing laundry and packing lunches at 1 am. I feel like I do my best work under pressure - does that sound like a good excuse to procrastinate?? Well, that's my story and I'm sticking to it!
Isn't it just so much fun to feel like an adult again? I love having time with DH without the kids. It feels like the ultimate freedom.
DH and I just got our CPR and First Aid cert. this past spring. We thought it would be a smart thing to do since we have kids and a business. Ya just never know when you might need it. I haven't re-certed in a few years, since I got out of nursing. They have really changed the format for the new CPR cert. It wasn't too demanding before, but now you don't even have to take a written exam. You basically sit and watch a DVD. They are trying to streamline everything now. I think maybe they're trying to get more people to get their training.
Don't you work in a gym now? If so, would they be willing to hire you as a trainer? I'm thinking you won't have any problem finding a job as a trainer - since you already have wanna-be clients!;-)

I gotta get off my butt and get ready to go. I'll BBL to see what everyone's up to. Have a great day all and check out my personals from last night.:)

Morning Ladies! after the day I had yesterday figuired better get in here early!

Had a packed class last night again .. strange for this time of year .. it being so hot! Did and all over step circuit .. not the "kick@$$" one .. just plain ole circuit .. but it was good and w/the humidity we were all drenched!!

Wendy .. talk about heat ... this morning at 6:00 it was 78 and SOOOOOOO humid .. I broke a sweat just getting my gym clothes in the car .. jeeze!! But we did get another nice rain yesterday attributing to the humidity .. so I am not going to complain too bad! And yeah DH does seem to be the "go to guy" .. think b/c he is one of those guys that has working knowledge of just about everything and anything mechanical! And yes ..seems when he needs help no one is around! He DID get the well pump going though .. bless his heart .. he is so tired today .. tired and SORE! LOL

OK .. gotta run .. today going to try to get a pedicure at lunch .. we are going to Louisiana and Biloxi Thursday and Friday .. and I will be in flip flops and I NEED a pedi ridiculously bad!!:D

tonight is the "kick@$$" class ... 4 steps -plyo - core torture - plank torture and all over body class!!}( Oh yeah .. get ready girls!!!}(

Ok .. have a great one!!! will BBL for personals!:7

Hey Girls.

ITri is done and it was AWESOME!:) I'm off to tackle BS&B timesaver very soon....

Angie: So are you telling me that the CPR cert should be a piece of cake? I sure hope so as I am clueless when it comes to that! LOL Unfortunately my wanna-be clients are useless to me in a gym situation unless they plan to join whatever gym I am working for. :-( Ofcourse, if they are personal friends of mine I would be willing to train them else where. SHHHHH, don't tell anyone though as that is no-no when working for most gyms! ;)

Laura: Oh it's awful here! Thank goodness it's supposed to break tomorrow night with Tstorms. I am planning a visit to my mom tmrw evening...I hope I don't get caught enroute in them cause I'll freak! I HATE THEM!!!

Okay. Enough procrastinating for me...I'll BBL!:)

Hey, ladies! :) :) :)

I wound up *not* napping yesterday afternoon, after all, and did the standing postures + relaxation from Kathy Smith’s New Yoga – about a 30-minute practice. Felt good. This morning I did KPC/L&G premix #16 minus the abs. The leg fryin' continues...

Laura :: busted a gut re: your vitamins…:D…I think I mighta shot some iced tea outta my nose on that one. I have you totally envisioned as the life-of-the-party type who keeps everybody entertained with your wild stories. Am I close?...enjoy your pedi!

Angie :: actually, no, I will not get a raise from this…some school districts offer raises or yearly stipends, but mine does not…It can, however, count for 9 graduate credits… With a Master’s + 15 grad credits, I do get a little boost in salary, so in a way, the Nat’l Board cert. will contribute to that eventually. But the motivation for doing this program is really just to strengthen my teaching...I will have to collect data during the school year, but I am working on one of the four portfolio entries now and can probably finish most of it before September, so it will give me a leg up to have one of them close-to-finished as the school year kicks off…enjoy the t-storms – love those, too!

Wendy :: The Relafen does sound scary! Glad to hear everything’s back to normal now…I don’t know why it takes that many months to score the results, either. I am a worrier and that will be eating away at me! Even 4-6 weeks feels like an eternity to me when it comes to waiting for that kind of news…In terms of school ~ hmmm, well, I was always a good student – a nerd, if you will :p :D – but I never imagined myself as a teacher…That was something I fell into, and I didn’t foresee the extra schooling it involved to get there (I had to attend class PT while working FT, so it was a slow process!). But even before teaching, I did always have in the back of my mind that I’d probably want to get a Master’s someday, and maybe even a doctorate. HOWEVER, I think you get saturated with schooling. During my Master’s program, I would think I must be nuts to keep putting myself through this and forget the Ph.D – I can’t take this anymore ARRGGGH!!! Yeah, it pretty much went like that. *lol* (As you can see, you're getting the long answer to that question...) OK, Cliff Notes version: I guess, yeah, I like to challenge myself. :D This current process does not truly involve any schooling – the classes I’m in now are support classes to help you through the process…And, yes, I did get my HW done. :D I also completely geeked out and set up an elaborate system of color-coded folders and binders. *lol* God, I love me some fresh, clean office supplies. You had no idea I was *this* twisted, did you? :D

Hi to Diana & Nancy!

TTFN-
Cathy :)

I'm back. GSBS&B timesaver is done...and ofcourse, I added pull ups to it!}(

Cathy: All I can say is that you are super motivated where your career is concerned and that is AWESOME! I've never had that but then again, I have never had a "career"...only "jobs"...none of which did I ever LOVE. I am hoping getting into the fitness field is the right move for me. I want a career that I love instead of a job that is okay or that, in some cases, I even hated!x( And you are not twisted...a little obsessed, perhaps but definately not twisted!;) :7 :p

Wendy :: yeah, I would agree that I am highly motivated...I also was raised by two very old school Europeans who believe in the value of hard work-til-you-drop, and so, I think that helps explain why I'm sort of a Type A...Now the obsession with office supplies is just one of my little quirks! *lol*...I do think when you're doing what you love, it doesn't feel like work, and you just naturally want to keep learning and honing your craft and doing your best. I'm sure you'll be that way w/ your clients, wanting to stay on top of the latest fitness/nutrition knowledge and trends, get new certifications, etc. to help them get their money's worth and reach their goals. From what I know about you through becoming friends on these boards, it does sound to me like you are answering a calling.

Afternoon Ladies!

Yes the asylum is in full swing .. I am checking in here to get some dash of sanity today!! :)

Just had a run in w/a cust (think she may really be an escaped mental patient) ..I had to go into hiding when she came in b/c this woman is just plain out ole crazy!!! JEEZE what is up w/today???

Angie .. you do have the spitfire personality!! And you gotta love that!!! when your done w/cleanmax at your place mine sure is in need of some too!! funny how hard it is to get the dang place clean and how little time it takes to get filthy .. and please tell me .. where does the laundry multiply??? It is never ending!!

Cathe .. my friends and I have been known to be the life (or laugh) of the party!! LOL .. we always have a great time and crack ourselves up! I am the adrenaline junkie of the group and have had some serious adventures .. and I usually have numerous blonde moments that you can't help but to laugh at!! but I have company in the blonde moments .. SIL has MORE dumb blonde moments than me . .:7

Diana .. guess you are visiting w/the DS ... gotta share some of his adventures w/us!

Wendy .. if we all had motivation like Cathe as far as our careers I would not be in the asylum .. would probably be a doctor or lawyer!! I think you will do great as a PT though .. and if you are in a larger city you can make some major money at it .. promise you won't forget your cyber workout pals when you make the big time!!
:)

Ok .. have had my breath of sanity in this crazy day w/you gals! THANKS!!!

getting ready for 5:00 to get here ... and REALLY ready for the "kick@$$" class!!! }(

Cathy: My dad was a workaholic and my mom just has incredibly strong ethics when it comes to her job. She works hard and RARELY calls in sick. I gotta wonder what the heck happened to me!? :p :7 I hope you are right about the P/T "calling". I am tired of trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up! :7

Laura: A doctor or lawyer huh? Two jobs I NEVER wanted to do! LOL At some point I have wanted to be a princess :)P), a SAHM (atleast this one worked out for me!LOL), a zoo-keeper, an accountant and a journalist. Never once growing up did I see myself involved in fitness! Funny how things change. :)

Laura :: you still have me crackin' up hiding from the mental patients. Sometimes your stories remind me of my old job. I worked in politics before, and a big part of the job was handling constituents, who would come to us for help with problems or to air their gripes about government. You couldn't invent stranger characters. Oh, the stories. *lol*

Wendy :: I think it shows that you've inherited those qualities from your parents. The discipline and intensity that you bring to your workouts - pushing on when you don't feel like it or when you are sick - it's obvious you are no slouch and have high standards for yourself as an individual and as a parent...When I was growing up, I thought I would be a journalist or writer in some capacity and mostly stuck with that idea even though I flirted with other possibilities at times...I remember in HS, I took a career test, and it suggested I become a puppeteer - WTH - lol - that was just hysterical to me...Around that time, I considered pharmacy for awhile for some reason...then almost flaked out in college and decided I wanted to be a mail carrier, working in the outdoors, garnering good gov't benefits...I wound up finishing my degree in Communication and returned to the idea of pursuing writing in some fashion but at the same time, I couldn't ignore the draw of education...it was all because of a PT elementary-school job I'd fallen into...and then the next step was politics while I went back to school to get certified and see if I could make teaching happen, and luckily, it did work out...It's an interesting road that you take sometimes to get where you're meant to be...Honestly, though, a career in fitness would be appealing to me. I have no intentions of giving up teaching or leaving education, but I think it would be a rewarding career and would consider - maybe someday - doing something fitness-related PT.

Good evening ladies

The small storms went through and now the cool air is settling in. I wanted BIG storms darn it all!:7 Oh well, at least it's cooler.:) I'm trying to keep busy tonight b/c my appetite is HUGE tonight for some reason. I should just go to bed early before I eat everything in sight. But, my book is calling....

Wendy - Yup, the CPR cert. is a breeze. You have to demonstrate the procedures which were really easy and and everyone did it at the same time. Definitely don't be nervous about this one.:)
It sounds like you are headed in the right direction with what you are doing now. Do you want part time or full time employment? Maybe start out with a client or two on your own and see how it goes and then increase from there? What does DH think of your new plans?

Cathe - "I love me some fresh clean office supplies" LMAO!:D That is just hilarious. I can relate entirely. There is just nothing like new books, pens, paper, and folders. I was one of those weird kids who actually looked forward to the back to school sales so I could get new Star Wars folders and pencils. Yes, I was one of those....I still have some of my famous Star Wars art work that I did in school. You know, when the art teacher gives you a project to do and says "be creative". LOL! Ummmmm...somehow I think she always knew what she was gonna see from me. Hook rugs, painted posters, 3-D stuff, etc. You won't find any of that stuff on ebay.:p

Laura - So how'd the kick a$$ class go?
Since I did shopmax today, I never did start clean max or laundry max. Ahhhhhh the laundry - Mt. Clothespile is in my laundry room as we speak. I am NOT looking forward to climbing it - I'm sure the air is thin up there.
Somehow I'm thinking you'd make a great lawyer. And then possibly moving on to judge. Oh, I would feel so sorry for those folks who didn't keep up with their bills, especially during PMS. LOL Wouldn't it be great to argue for a living and get paid REALLY well? A true dream job for sure.

Diana - I'm sure you are uber busy. Can't wait to hear from you.;-)

Nancy - I wish I could take a vacation with you! The kids would forget what I look like.;) Lucky girl!

Chat with ya all tomorrow - probably late again with a full day at work and then making dinner and having MIL over for supper.

Later all

Angie
