P90X and Power 90 Master Series

There has been so much talk about P90X and how fantastic the workouts are that I am so tempted to order this set. As I was looking at the Beachbody website I clicked on the advanced workout link and they also had a set called the Power 90 Master Series. Has anyone tried this set? What did you think? Do you think one set is better than the other or would it be worthwhile to get both sets? Thanks.

:) :)

p90 masters is a step lower than p90x.But they are great workouts.I love p90x I ordered it the first week it was out-it is the best series out there imo.But the masters are not easy by any means my favorites are sculpt5-6-cardio intervals-plyolegs I haven't got to the rest of them yet.But on preview they all look good.I would get one set to try and than buy the other if you like them.

I have both sets and love them both. P90 Masters is sort of a mini P90 X. They are shorter so you can add on when needed (repeating segments - that's what I did), or just do the workout when you're short on time. Cardio Intervals is fun and a good 60 min. interval and I love P90 Masters Sculpt for a full body workout in minimal time. I always lifted really heavy with it and got really sore. You can make this series as hard or easy as you want. That's the beauty of them.

Interestingly enough, I don't have either but can tell you that even Power 90 is one of the most difficult workouts I have done. Yes, even compared to Cathe. Tony is very different--some people say "down right goofy." But he is a great trainer & does talk about the importance of form. The one thing I don't like about the series is that he talks about taking supplements. not a lot but makes comments about the importance. Beachbody sells these supplements that you can purchase elsewhere for less money. But whatever.

IMO Any of these series would be a great addition to your collection!

I have both, and I agree that P90 Masters is like a bit less intense version of P90X. Though I found with P90 Masters, that I didn't like the "core cardio" workout at all (all the 'do a cardio move, then get down on the floor for abs' didn't work for me) so I'm getting rid of that one.

I LOVE Sculpt 5-6 (which I consider an upper-body workout with some leg work, so can do a leg work the day before or after), and the other cardio workouts are great as well. There are similar moves to P90X, but they are sequenced differently, and there are some new moves as well.

Thanks for the info ladies. I was also wondering how good the cardio workouts are in either set. I've read a lot about the weight training being excellent, but I am also looking to add to my cardio collection. How intense is it? I know it probably doesn't compare to Cathe, but how would you rate it? Thanks in advance.

:) :D

The cardio in p90x is kenpo a kickboxing workout -cardiox which is a combo of kenpo, plyox and core syn.and the beloved plyo x which is the most intense.I also get my hr up after core syn.The cardio in this series is lighter for you to build muscles-it's hard to build muscle and do alot of cardio body builders usually only do 2 days of steady state cardio and then up calories for the expenditure of the calories lost. When they cut they up cardio but then they also lose muscle mass.
The masters cardio are somewhat like p90x
cardio intervals(it is like plyox)-sweat5-6-and plyo legs which I consider a circuit containing cardio (usually plyo moves)and legs work.
I haven't done uml and core cardio.
I also have the original p90 which consist of 2 tapes sculpt 3-4 and sweat 3-4.I also think they are winners.
I like that you can choose your own rep range and if lifting heavy still have time for rest.
