P!nk Freakin' Rocks!

Yup - gotta love Pink for her stance on this issue. The inhumane treatment of animals - all for the love a "beautiful"(?) coat...it's disgusting!

I get that a lot of people have issues with PETA, I do too about quite a few things, but it's not about PETA...it's about trying to help these animals.

I like Pink too. She appears to be a strong, talented, capable woman who has her S**t together.

My point is I can only do so much. I have no clue why all those adoptable pets where put down and I find it inexcuseable. I'm not going to turn a blind eye to the poor or questionable things animal rights groups have done any more than I'm going to turn a blind eye to the good they have done. Putting down perfectly adoptable animals turns my stomach and yes, I've made my anger known to Ingrid Newkirk and my regular monthly donations to PETA has stopped until a true pet adoption process is put into place. But that doesn't mean I'm going to ignore the good they have done.

The good they have done? Firebombing, arson, vandalism, and kill shelters?

According to PETA, we shouldn't own animals. Sorry, I refuse to believe their criminal activity is for the "Greater Good", I'll support groups that actually respect life- ALL LIFE.

Well I guess if you want to see only one side of the coin so be it, but there are some happy animals out their because of some of the good PETA has done:

Like I said, they aren't perfect, but they have done some good. Hell I contacted the ASPCA one time because every morning when I would walk my dog I could here this man on his second story balcony beating his dog. The dog would cry out and he would yell at it to 'SHUT UP!' then hit it again. The ASPCA told me there was nothing they could do because the dog was the man's property they wouldn't even investigate....I was like 'o.k....so what are all those help abused animal commercials about?'. Now I don't know if it was just that chapter that would not do anything or what, but I still donate to them because even though they didn't help that poor dog, I believe they still do some good.

I'm going to have to agree with Cynthia here. I think that PETA is sometimes more interested in terrorizing and flashy media games.

I'm not saying there aren't some nut jobs involved with PETA, believe me I know first hand. But what I am saying is that there are many members of PETA that are interested in helping improve the welfare of animals in need. The nut jobs make the news, those who are doing good rarely do. I left a chapter of PETA from the Bay Area years ago because they were extreme and a bit nutty...not what I was trying to do.

Sorry DEEDEE, I know you believe in the "cause" but Ingrid Newkirk is the biggest nut job of them all.

I thought I would post this, whether you want to believe this or not, it is up to you.

I love me some P!nk :p Great she's using her publicity to fight for a cause...actually we all should fight for causes we believe in whether or not we're famous, right?? (Plus I just think her vocals are incredible!!) D'you know how they say handwriting reveals personality? Would be cool to hear a psychologist's take on hers :)

Have you guys seen the commercial Pink did about Merino sheep? It made me sick the way those poor sheep are treated. I will NEVER purchase Merino wool in my life. Be forewarned that I watched this a couple of years ago and still can't get some of the images out of my mind...

I guess with the horrible way some people treat each other we shouldn't be shocked at the horrific thing some people do to animals...but this stuff just continues to astound me. Of course since Pink is a member of PETA I'm sure some feel this is all lies.
