Over 50 and new

Im looking for a challenge group or a support group for those over 50 and new to a regime of exersize

anyone care to join me or to lead me??
 
Mariah you moved quickly on this! Good for you! makes me want to be fifty. I am only 6 1/2 years away - can I be an honorary member?

I am off today which means im near puter at all times
Now I cheated by 11 years im 61 so i guess you can cheat by a few
I really need to do this for me... so the more who join and challenge the better
I plan at 130 to do half hour of Gilad and then a bit more cardio
then i have to get ready for tonite
thats my report for the day ill come back later and say i was successful in my plan
Im moving over, Julie, no matter that i am overweight theres still plenty of room for you here
 
got thru yesterday
very bad emotional day mother in hosp grandson in hosp and i could add but i wont

excersized but then blew it by over eating at dinner bread and cake
well every day is a new one.

good morning everyone woke late this morning and had to run out for a real estate meeting with only one cup of coffee in me
so ill be making up my time this afternoon
Thinking going to the gym might be my answer to motivate me
 
Hi Mariah,

I will join your group! I fell of the excersise wagon about
2 months ago and need to get back on it. I'm 50 year old and
stoped working out because I pulled a hamstring while running.

I will check in every morning to keep my eating and excersise in
check.

Today I will be spinning and so far I have been eating clean.

i fell of the exersize wagon and the eating wagon keeps tipping over

Well, I did not go spinning last night, but I did do my Basic Step tape and abs from Cadio and Weights. Today I will do Supersets and
if I have time go spinning. I hope that you are doing well mariah.

Last nite i got home about 830 and did a Gilad Quick Fit for Hips Thighs and Buns
Sometimes when i dont have time for Cathe's full workout, Ill grab what i can fit in
Again tonite have to go to a meeting and wont get home till about 9 ish So I will do something
 
Hi Mariah,

I'd like to join you, although I'm not new to exercise. I'm 53 with a 10 year old son to at least raise through collage.

I've wanted a 50+ check in just to compare notes with other midlife exercisers and help keep me in track.

I've been checking in over at the Cheetahs but I'm not as fast as those gals. :)

Lets make a plan then
so far i am not successful with my food plan, i keep falling off that wagon and I know im not good at sticking with anything
so im committing to at least 1/2 hour workout per day and more when i have that time
I have a couple of Cathe's DVD's and have a friend who will help show me how to tape some from the TV
when i have a couple of extra dollars i want to send away for some new ones.

What would be your ideal workout and what are you willing to commit to just for now

im from Fla formally of NY and my grandchildren in cold brrr Michigan
 
I need help with my food big time! I've been a compulsive eater since I was 10.

BTW, I lived in NYC from March of 1980 to November of 1989, grew up in Seattle but now live in way too cold Minnesota.

I do Cathe workouts 5 to 6 days a week. I used to do the old Firm workouts and FitPrimes. I didn't like the new Firms. I didn't like looking at 20 something instructors telling me what to do!

I'm commiting myself to clean eating and smaller portions but I still need my glass of wine. Right now I'm doing Cathes Feb.Rotation with modifications. Sometimes I will add in an extra rest day if I need it. If the temp's ever get back into the teens I'll start run/walking again for me cardio. I did the Cool Running, Couch to 5k program, starting last April and now can do about 3 miles.

DS has scouts tonight so I'm off to get him ready. I'll check in tomorrow.

I still havent figured out the rotation
some days i dont really have the ability to give an hour any suggestions?? or should I keep doing what im doing (commiting to minimum of half hour and more when i can
I am going to OA (overeaters anonymous) I cant say that it is working for me YET!! but i am getting a major handle on understanding my eating patterns
and the difference between this program and a diet
The more i go to meetings and expose myself to the program the more willing i become to follow it

Hi Ladies: Would like to join the group.Since I am over the big five o.I'm 5'4" and 155pds would like to be 130.I worked out yesterday am and pm. I'm so tired of not fitting into my clothes.This extra weight needs to go~Linny~
 
It's been a crazy day.

I did Imax 2 today. A challange to say the least. Tomorrow I hope to get in a long workout but I don't know. I do have to follow a plan or I start to goof off.

Food was not so good. I gave in to emotional eating. I hate it when I do that.

Off to volunteer at our community center. Have a great night.

Linny 61 here now 160 lbs i hate how i look
Colleen I am also an emotional eater and any other excuse
i have discovered that I am a compulsive overeater and a binge eater
i have started going to OA hoping that will give me insight into myself and the strength to learn not to give into the cravings

I would like to be 140-145 although i wouldnt cry if i hit 135 :)
I am also 5'4 3/4 " prob shorter now that im older but i seem to have turned to aspic jelly the last couple of years oh with a lot of cottage cheese in it

i did 2 15 min Gilad tapes today because i didnt have time for a full hour of Cathe

wow we are up to 5 of us great

Im off to work now, for most of you its a saturday and that means a day off, for me it means, I hope a VERY busy day. Waitressing, when busy, means you hopefully are making money. and right now I'm going thru a very bad financial time, so im hoping we are very busy :)
when I come home i will do my exercise
i still have to figure out how to tape Cathe, Im so tech dumb that i taped yesterday, came home and tape was blank

Anyway everyone have a great day off, I hope you all have wonderful plans for tonite and ill check in when i come home
