OT/ Movie recommendation

Hi,
I got direct TV recently and have free premier movie stations for 3 months. Last weekend I was glued to the set watching a French movie from 2002 called " He Loves me, he loves me not". It is a psychological thriller but you don't realize it until almost 1/3 of the way through. Very well done. I read the reviews afterwards and they were all great but they would give the surprise and premise away so try not to look at the reviews first. Look for it in the forein film section of your videostore. Let me know what you think.

Yup, saw it a couple of months back. Liked it very much. Original, edgy. Have you ever seen any of the films by Jeunet and Caro, French directors? I think you might like them. I think Delicatesssen is their best and one of them, I think jeunet, has a new film called"A very long engagement" which I shall be watching this weekend. I believe he was also responsible for Amelie, which is a fine, fine film that transcends appellations of being a French film.

I really like that movie for my classes (college French), because I can split it into two parts, and have them watch each section on a different day. I've used it the last couple of semesters when I was out of town for a conference. Most of the students like it also , and many of them have seen "Le fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulin" ("Amélie"), and Audrey Tautou is in that movie as well.

I hate it when reviews or ads give away the surprise of a movie. I've been seeing ads for "the island", and while I haven't seen the movie itself, I think it would be more interesting to discover the twist while you are watching.

Thanks for the other film recommendations. I thought Audrey was brilliant in He loves me, he loves me not. It will be interesting to see her in Amelie.

I just came across this movie a couple of weeks ago while channel surfing, and like you, was glued to the set. It was so NOT what I expected. I'd recommend it, too.

The way it was filmed with the different perspectives reminded me a little bit of M. Night Shyamalan - a la "Sixth Sense".

Thanks so much for the recommendation. It will be added to my Netflix queue as soon as I get done typing this. I get so tired of wasting my money on the crap that Hollywood tries to pass off as art. We went to see Wedding Crashers this past weekend and I didn't think it would ever end. I love foreign films. Wonder why they are superior to anything produced here.
