Hi folks!

I received this in e-mail this morning about the Breast Cancer Hospitalization Bill pending in the US Congress. I think it's so important that I want all the US Catheite women out there to see it. Please take the time to read this, and please cut 'n paste it and send it along, too, to as many other people as you can. Thanks so much, everyone!!

Mastectomy Bill in Congress

Breast Cancer Hospitalization Bill - Important legislation for all women.

Please send this to everyone in your address book. If there was ever a time when our voices and choices should be heard, this is one of those times. If you are receiving this it's because I think you will take the 30 seconds to go and vote on this issue and send it on to others you know who will do the same.

There's a bill called the Breast Cancer Patient Protection Act which will require insurance companies to cover a minimum 48-hour hospital sta y for patients undergoing a mastectomy. It's about eliminating the "drive-through mastectomy" where women are forced to go home just hours after surgery against the wishes of their doctor, still groggy from anesthesia and sometimes with drainage tubes still attached.

Last year over half the US House signed on to this legislation, but it didn't pass. This year, let's show the US Congress how important American women believe this legislation to be, and let's get it enacted into law.

Lifetime Television has put this bill on their web page with a petition drive to show your support. PLEASE sign the petition by clicking on the web site below and scrolling to the bottom of the page. You need not give more than your name and zip code number.

This takes about 2 seconds. PLEASE PASS THIS ON to your friends and family. THANKS!!!

Thanks Kas! Amazing that they send them home sooo fast. It has to be so unsettling to those that have to have it done in the first place. Thanks for the link!

Kathy,

When I read this, I did a search to find the thread I posted to see if it was the same legislation. I am not sure if it would have been better if it was a new bill or not. Ridiculous this is even an issue at this point! This is as bad as the push for short post-partum stays. I was out in 24 hours per my wishes, but not every woman is ready.

Ok, I won't get started on women's health issues. :) Thanks for posting, I hope we won't have to post it again and women will be getting the proper care!!
