OT: Computer Flat Panel Monitor...

I just got a new flat panel monitor today for the kids computer. It is a Samsung SyncMaster 730B...if that means anything to anyone.

Anyway...I am not happy with the look...everything has just a tish of fussiness. Is it just this monitor or what does everyone else think of their flat panel monitor type?

The computer I normally use is a 17" Hp lap top so I was expecting the same 'look' on a new flat panel as that lap top has. The guy at Best Buy talked me out of a Hp flat panel and into this one since it was more bang for the buck. But, I'm not happy at all with the unclearness of the type and I can't seem to change it using Control Panel.

Help?!?! Or do I take this one back and get the Hp afterall?

I have 'fixed' the problem as best I can. I think it is just the difference in monitor's. I went to Amazon and this particular monitor had good reviews...so maybe I'm expecting perfection where it can't be had. But geez, my Hp laptop has a crystal clear picture and the type is absolutely crisp.

One things for sure...if someone is needing a monitor that has plenty of brightness...this one is for you! I have the brightness set at 35...out of 100!

If it's fuzzy at all take it back. I have 3 that I use at work, all different brands and they are crystal clear and sharp. Don't settle. It should not be fuzzy at all.

It may be your video card or processor.
Celleron will do this.
I had this happen on a shared video card.
Read the manual. It should tell you how much memory you need for it, or call samsung before returning it.

Spent 75 bucks , bought a new card and walla.
Amd and pentium processors are supposed to be better for clarity and speed.
I have had both and won't buy celleron again.

I have a Dell, also. Absolutely love it.

I also vote for the Pentium processors, far superior IMO.

The computer has a Pentium processor so I should be fine that way. The computer is three years old. I went over to a friends house who also has a Dell system but with a flat panel and I didn't think her screen looked any crisper than this Samsung I bought...so don't know what to think. I'm going to Best Buy today to get another one and see if it does the same thing. This time I'll get the Hp I wanted originally.

Thanks for everyone's replies. It helps to know that I don't have to live with this type of fuzzy text. The lap top I use for the business is absolutely crystal clear and that is what I expect to have in another LCD screen.x(

Please don't hate me for this answer... maybe a prescription change is needed on your glasses. I was going nuts with a new monitor at work, I guess my home monitor is fuzzy in the right way for my eyes.

Not at all Dave :)

If it wasn't for the fact that I have two computer's at home...so can compare them...the possibility that it is MY eyes and not the screen would be a definite concern. I have adjusted this Samsung in every which way I can and it still is lacking in clearness of the text. I have the Hp sitting here waiting to be hooked up but will wait and do it in the morning, when I'm fresher and so are my eyes!

I should have just bought the flat panel with the computer when it was new but I didn't want to spend the money back then.
