OT: Anyone in Publications?

I recently went to three days of training with a publication/marketing expert to revamp our school's community newsletter which I am the editor. This job was literally thrown at me over a year ago, but until this training didn't get too excited about it. NOW, however, I absolutely love publications and marketing. So, I'm looking for someone to email with some questions or get some good websites that I can visit for ideas to help change a lot of other publications.

Anyone out there is marketing and publications? I am also seriously thinking about taking classes, etc. So I'd love to hear how you got started and the schooling you needed to get to where you are at.

Thanks in advance for any input. I'm seriously thinking about a career change.
