OT/Anyone eat Thai food?

My DH & I love the stuff. We are going to have it tonight. Does anyone know where I can get calorie info on it?? I did a google search, but can't get a decent chart.

I don't know about the calorie content of Thai food but just wanted to chime in that I love it, and am now thinking of it for dinner myself!

You worked hard this week right? treat yourself;-)

It's some good stuff eh?? I just got back from eating it. No guilt whatsoever..lol. I was just curious to see how many calories are in the dishes/appetizers.

I've never researched the calories. However, I've always heard that when you a lot of wet noodles, you'll start to look like a wet noodle.

Love Thai Food -- but I'm a curry girl and I'm sure the calorie content on that is not too pretty due to the coconut milk.

I just did a quick search and found the following (www.calorieking.com):
1 cup Thai Chicken Curry: 340 cals, 23g fat, 29 g protein, 4 g carbs

Not sure how accurate it may be -- but it obviously doesn't include the rice (otherwise there would be more carbs). So figure in at least a cup of rice (170 cals).

I'm sure I have much more than a cup.

Oh well, it's just on special occasions anyway.

I LOOOOOOOOOOOVE THAI and will NOT check out the calories on that link because I am far too young to die from shock.

And I sooooo have to add I LOOOOOOOOOOOVE Indian (which I think is "worse" in fat)


but who really cares ALL THE TIME?

Hi,this is so funny ,i had thai for the first time right before the holidays and completely fell in love with the sticky rice w/mangoes and just found an oriental store that sold the right type of rice for it and got it tonight ,i am going to try and make it tommorow ,yummy! I have been dreaming abotu that stuff,i cant wait!

Oh, boy, Aila, Indian food is the best. My DH and I go nuts for Indian food. Of course we love Thai too. What's not to love?
 
I love sticky rice so much that I bought a rice cooker just for making it. You can find them at Asain markets and the sticky rice I found that I love so much is Calrose brand. Oh, I also love Thai food!

Hi,Laurie,i love the sticky rice too,i dont have the bamboo type of steamer ,i just rigged up a steamer in a tall pot i have and it turned out really good.I ve only used a brand called,plum rose sweet rice,i think thats what its called.I also found the black sticky rice so thats next on my list to try,its addicting,thank goodness im also addicted to Cathe workouts or i could be in big trouble,LOL!!!

P.S. I saw the calrose brand rice in the grocery store but i didnt get it because it didnt specify that it was the sweet or glutinous type of rice so i went to an asian market and got it there,so its good to know that calrose is the sweet type thanks!
