Osteitis Pubis & Hypnosis

Winter

Hi
I have two subjects I wanted to get some feedback on.
1. My Gyno just diagnosed me with Osteitis Pubis. I had been having pelvic pain really low on the right side. This has gone on for over a year. My pelvic bone and ligaments around it are inflammed and irritated. It is more a nuisance than problem so far. Anyway he said they usually find this condition in women who do high impact aerobics (STEP) and horse back riding. Any one else have this problem. He said to take a rest and it takes a long time to heal.

2. Has anyone tried hypnosis for weight loss? I did it yesterday. I think it worked. So far I have noticed that I eat a lot slower. This is weird for me since I am a shoveler. I also haven't cleaned my plate because I have been eating slower. Anyone else have any results from hypnosis?

Thanks,
Winter

HI, I did the hypnosis thing with the Green Group on Long Island in New York. It worked (I think) for a little while the first time, I went for a repeat about 2 weeks ago & I think I am eating more now then ever. As for the medical problem, I never had that, but good luck to you. Karen

Hypnosis, I don't know! As of osteitis pubis, I haven't had this condition, but I know it usually takes 3-6 months and sometimes longer for it to resolve. First you have to rest and your pain and inflammation are controlled by medications. Eventually you go through physical therapy, and certain exercises. The prognosis of OP is very good and is usually self limited.
You should be fine. Please take care and be patient.

Hi

I agree with everyone else I have never had that problem. As for hypnosis I personally don't agree with hypnosis, and wouldn't use it certainly not for weight loss. I have also not seen many testimonials for use of hypnosis in this regard (maybe I don't read the right journals).

But as I said even if I had I wouldn't use it both for religious reasons and because IMO in losing weight it should be about teaching healthier eating habits exercise etc. Things like hypnosis diet drugs, etc by pass that so that when people reach goal because they may not have gone thorough that learning process they may be even more likely put the weight back on.

I say go thorough the effort and struggle much of it is trying to find a healthy clean eating program that works for you and sticking to eat.

I'm not sure what I feel about the hypnosis thing, but if it works, then it was a good thing for you!
My Mom has a dear friend who smoked 5 packs of cigarettes/day and could not stop, not with the patch, meds, nothing, but he did 1 session of hypnosis for $50. and has never smoked since that day! And that was more than 10 years ago, and he'll tell anyone that that $50. was the best spent money of his lifetime!
So maybe it's your answer too?

Babs, I agree wholeheartedly with your opinion of hypnosis. Haven't had the other problem, but hope that you can be patient enough to let it heal. That's always the tough part, but best in the long run. Blessings.
