A little fun this a.m, before I have to deal with the snow. I absolutely loved Cate Blanchett's dress... she looked so stunning and elegant. Amazing!!!

My favs were Penelope Cruz, Nicole Kidman, Kate Winslett, Jodie Foster and Rachel Weicz. I may remember more later, but those really were drop dead gorgeous!!!!!!

Good: Reece Witherspoon, Jennifer Hudson, Nicole Kidman, Gwenyth Paltrow, Helen Mirren, Cate Blanchett, Diane Keaton

Bad: Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez, Meryl Streep

I am really over the trend of long, straight hair. I think it's time for a change!

I thought Reese looked fabulous but ummmm dawg (little AI humor;-) ) I am gonna be real! I was just not feelin Gwenth's (sp?) dress.
Was it just me or were the Oscars a bit boring this year. Ellen was good and I liked seeing Jerry Seinfeld.

The show itself was incredibly bad, boring, and just plain too long.

I forgot to add before that I also didn't like Jennifer Lopez' dress. My DH and I saw her with her "Svengali" hubby and I thought she looked like Mary Tyler Moore playing dress up in the 70's....

Gwenyth was not my favorite, but I give her credit for wearing something unique.

Oh, sorry, but I thought Cameron Diaz looked like an Orgami project with really bad hair.

delfin,

In Oklahoma you could go to jail with what some of the people wear, or don't wear to the Oscar.... And they should go to a mental ward for what they pay for the clothing....;)

I agree - the show was a major snooze, except for the last 40 minutes. Way too long.
Hated Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Lopez and Gwyneth's dresses.
Loved Penelope Cruz, Diane Keaton (she's awesome), and Cate Blanchet.
And I loved Ellen DeGeneres' white suit. Beautiful.
How about Jennifer Hudson's near major malfunction in her red dress? Yikes! They need to work on her wardrobe a little in the chest space.

Hey Bill you are too funny. You always have me laughing.
Just wanted to let you know, from a crazy girl that keeps up with all the celeb goings on. The designers give out those dresses to the celebs for advertising purposes. Not sure who they are advertising for since none of us real ppl could afford them but that's what it is. The jewels are loaners usually unless you are Oprah!:)

Well, I'm afraid to say because apparently I'm in the minority, but I loved the gown that Jennifer Lopez was wearing. That said, I know zero about fashion, just thought she looked beautiful. And Cameron Diaz, she just looks good in anything, doesn't she? Still can't decide if I liked Kelly Preston's gown or not.

RE: Deleted message

Bill, you rock my world......I wish my shoulders were as big and 'tefloned' as yours....figuratively speaking:).

Take Care

Not to worry, Cojo from ET agreed with you!

Kelly Preston looked too much like Pebbles, imo. All she needed was a bone in her hair...I am soooo bad! I just don't see animal prints as glamour, I guess..;)

I also loved Cate Blanchett's outfit.
I also liked Helen Mirrin's dress. Beautiful, sexy, but age appropriate (unlike Catherine Deneuve's arm-baring number).

I liked MOST of Nicole Kidman's dress, but that huge bow on the shoulder looked very odd from certain angles. I was surprised that all the post-show fashion critiques loved it.

I am also not a fan of Empire waist dresses, because they make everyone look pregnant or fat (the former isn't bad if you ARE actually pregnant, though), unless the torso part underneath the bust is a slim fit, so I did NOT like Jennifer Lopez' dress.

I saw a bit of Jodi Foster, and she looked good (based on the quick glance I got...I guess she wasn't a VIP at this year's ceremony, so nobody spent much time on her).

Kirsten Dunst's dress was horrible! Like a bad thrift-shop find. Can you say fashion victim?

ETA: I liked Jennifer Hudson's dress, BUT I didn't realize until later that she originally was wearing some kind of short (like it had shrunk) metallic silver leather jacket over it! By the time she got to Ryan Seacrest, the horrid jacket was gone, but it was too late to keep her off the 'worst dressed' list of the after-Oscars shows.

The interesting thing is that Cojo from ET, who is a huge Nicole Kidman fashion fan, put her at the number one spot for the WORST dressed last night. It might not have been her best moment, but I really disagree that she was the worst dressed. Did anyone see Meryl Streep?????

>Did anyone see Meryl Streep?????

I forgot about her!
But I think she's almost in another class. She's not even trying to be part of Hollywood, and not even trying, it seems, to be 'fashionable.

I was surprised when Joan Rivers told Celine Dion that she liked the backward suit she wore several years ago. (I wonder if it's too much surgical meds or just age that is adling Joan's brain?)

I'm with you on Kirsten Dunst's dress - she looked like a school marm had a head-on collision with a show girl. Hideous!

I adore Kate Winslet. She's got such class. And Jodie Foster looked fabulous. DH made the comment that she looked old as she was walking out, then she turned around and he said, "Oh, she doesn't look old at all. She's really pretty." If DH noticed it, then she must have been dressed well.

J-Lo's dress did not do it for me, though. I expected to see half naked men with big palm fans and holding grapes for her to eat (maybe that's why it didn't do it for me - there were no half naked men... :p)
