Our ornament-decorating party is tonight. Thanks so much to everyone for your suggestions, as they really helped me figure out what to do.
A BIG thanks to Shelley for the clay recipe - we made them last night. We used cookie cutters for Xmas (not Xtina) shapes, and my kids also did some freeform "anti-holiday" things like sharks, heh.
We also papier-mached a bunch of light bulbs, which I'm going down to spray with "snow" texture paint shortly. We'll be able to paint and/or decorate those and they should be cool.
I bought a bunch of styrofoam balls in different sizes along with various decors (glitter, of course, pipe cleaners, some Christmasy fabric, and a bunch of small charms which can be attached).
I bought a bunch of small wooden ornaments that can be painted.
Finally, I bought some corsage pins, beads, and corks so we can make crystal snowflakes AND pom-poms and film canisters so we can make upside-down Grinches trapped in the chimney.
It should be a lot of fun, so thanks again for all of your ideas! :7
