so i'm noticing that shock cardio includes lots of plyo movements that work the legs and also squat thrust pushup thingies. These moves work the upper and lower body pretty effectively. I was wondering if i did a shock cardio workout 3 times per week would doing just one upper body weight workout and one lower body workout be enough to maintain muscle? i'm not interested in building more so i'm just looking for more of a mantainance program. Or do you think its best to do 2 full body workouts instead?

For me, I don't think the upper body work in STS cardio is enough to go down to 1 full body workout/week. However, your legs will get a ton of work with all of the plyo moves.

I would suggest doing one full body weight workout/week and then doing another full upper body ONLY workout to maintain. It would be alot of stress on your lower body to do two leg workouts/week, IMHO.

Take care, LynnM.

I agree with Lynn - I don't think there's enough upper body in the workouts to justify giving one up. I don't think the plyos really take the place of lower body workouts, though. It works them in a different way, but not the same way as weights. I'd use these workouts only as cardio and continue with your normal lifting schedule.
