Need some professional advice here ( maybe I'm making too big of deal out of this ) BUT ,,Today one of the guys I work with brought in Double Cheeseburgers and Fries for everyone during the lunch hour. I ALWAYS bring my own lunch to work and was totally starving today, and,,,,, you guessed it,,,, before I knew it, I ate one of the burgers plus fries. Note: I have not had a cheeseburger and fries in years and now I feel terrible. I want to work off as much as I can . The advice I need is; In your opinion what work out ( of Cathe's that is ) do you think would burn off the most fat, cals, carbs,,, and the basic 'YUK' that I feel from the garbage that I just consumed. I seriously think I Max 2 would, BUT I also think Kick Max burns some hard core fat too. I have Cardio & Weights, Lo-Max, Kick Punch Crunch , Step Jump Pump ,and also Bootcamp w/ Muscle Endurance. I really take eating clean serious and that's why I am freaking out so much.
Also, any advice on what supper should be ? I feel like I should skip it, but I know better. Any advice from anyone is greatly appreciated. Just need some 'rest assured' words ! Thanks all !

I'm no professional, but I say don't beat yourself up. Just move on, and don't worry about it too much.

I can't say which workout would be the best; do whichever you prefer. IMAX2 is always fun. I don't think you should skip dinner; just eat something healthy and go on with your life.

Everyone has a cheat meal now and then (some of us more often than that ). Try not to freak out too much about it.

In my opinion, life is too short to never have a cheeseburger and fries!

As long as it's not a daily thing, I wouldn't worry about it at all.

I agree with the no worrying advice.

Seriously, think about it... are you going to go the rest of your life freaking out every time you enjoy a food that isn't perfect for you? I couldn't treat myself that way.

It's the overall picture that counts. Enjoy a cheeseburger every once in a while. :D

Absolutely agree, don't worry about it! Health and fitness are not made or broken in one meal. :)

That said, I feel like this sometimes myself and I try to use it as an opportunity to practice letting go and not obsessing too much. :)

1) You are to be commended for your dedication to a healthy lifestyle.

2) You are human.

If you forget 1, remember 2.

Since I've been working out to Cathe, I have definition in my shoulders and abs for the first time in years..I eat healthy for the most part, I love chicken, fish, steamed veggies, bison steaks.

That said...I would go ballistic if I couldn't cheat every now and again..I simply must have wings and pizza every so often. All things in moderation..it took me years to realize this, but now I do. For the most part, I feel as though my body deserves the best, healthiest fuel possible so I can continue working out with Cathe. There are those occasions where you just have to say.."screw it"...at least IMHO.

Flagellate yourself for one hour while kneeling on broken glass. :p

Seriously: you slipped, but as long as you don't use that slip as an excuse to keep sliding downhill, forget about it.

If it would make you feel better, you could do a high-nutrient supper (If it were me, I'd throw some fresh organic tomatoes, cukes, zukes, herbs and either some avocado or olive oil in my Vitamix and whip up a raw soup*. The "spoonful of green" recipe here http://purejoyplanet.com/recipes.php is very tastey!).

*Just be careful of combining green and red, as it makes a rather swampy green/brown color! Either peel the zukes and cukes (so they are more 'light yellow') or use yellow tomatoes with cukes and zukes with peels.

I agree with Jodi -- don't beat yourself up, move on! Just because you were bad one meal doesn't mean you'll gain a ton of weight (you might gain water weight from the extra sodium, I always do from any cheat meals I have!). But that's temporary. Just get back on track and start eating as usual. As far as working out, I also agree with Jodi about Imax 2 (but ALL of the Imaxes are good!). I just did Imax 1 yesterday for the first time in a long time and forgot how challenging and awesome of a workout that it was. But, just do what you were going to do as scheduled had you NOT had a cheat meal - you'll be fine!

Hopefully this guy from work won't make this a regular occasion!!

Thank you , Thank you, Thank you

WOW,,,that's what I love about this board. The support and the fact that people can relate is just awesome.

I admit, I freaked out waaayyy too hard. Everyone is right though. Moving on and giving yourself a break now and then really is important. After all, we only have one life, might as well live it the way we want ,right? Besides, even Cathe says she's got cheat foods and look at the shape she's in. ( Phenominal !!! ) The previous poster was right. I did bloat from the sodium, but much better today !

Went home and did IMAX 2 as hard as I could. That one always challenges me. AND for supper, the vegitable idea was awesome,, thanks Kathryn. Threw some veggie cabobs on the grill. I did combine green and red, but it was Green and Red Peppers,, a little olive oil,,, kosher salt w/ brown rice. Delicious.

Thanks again for the advice and support. I don't know many people ( if any ) on this board but always feel there are friends out there.

Thanks again !

I just ate 5 milanos. I can't help myself. I bought them when I went to the store hungry. I love those cookies... good thing i did plyo legs this morning.

Morgan, I started a thread called "Adopt the You-turn Mantra" that is some great advice from Dr. Oz. You can search for the thread, it has helped me so much...might help you too. :)

RELAX!

It probably won't make a difference. A McDonald's double is 440 calories, an order or fries is 450 calories for a medium size order. Depending on how much you burn doing a workout just add an 100 extra calories burned to your workout (jumping jacks?) for the next 10 days and it shouldn't even be a blip on your screen (iykwim) Think of it as a zag day.

Fifty lashes with a wet noodle and no TV for a week! Seriously, like everyone else says, just chalk it up to an indulgence and just move on. I can't believe you haven't had a cheeseburger for years! How did you accomplish that?? Now that's a feat in itself if you ask me.

Maybe you should have cheeseburgers more often so that you can realize that it's honestly not the end of the world? Everything in moderation.
