One arm is weaker than the other.... How to fix?

Hi Cathe,

I've noticed mostly when working biceps that my right arm is stronger than my left. I've heard somewhere that this is common. My question is should I use a lighter dumbbell weight for my left side when doing biceps? (It is especially noticeable when doing biceps in PUB.) I don't know if I should be using a heavier weight for my right and lighter for my left or work with the lighter weight on both sides? AND what is the best way for me to work the left bicep up to the strength of the right side?

Thanks!

Someone just asked a very similar question, but I can't find the thread. I'll just repost more-or-less what I wrote there:

I suggest the following: work your weak side first, doing as many reps as you can. Then go to the strong side, but do NOT do more reps than your weak side could do. You can help increase strength in the weak arm by doing forced reps or negative reps on concentration curls: when you've done as many reps as you can, use your other arm to help you during the positive (curl) movement, then lower down slowly. Do this for 2 reps more than failure.

DOn't use a barbell for your bicep work until the strength of the two sides evens out, as your strong arm (right ) will compensate for the weak arm.
