I make huge strength gains when I lift on my own, because of the longer recovery time I think. What really pushes me when I'm on my own is keeping very deliberate records of my training and trying to improve each time, even if its just squeezing out one more rep for that particular exercise. After all the heavy lifting I did last year, I was surprised at how much stronger I was on some of her workouts--but only GS, Pyramids, and S&H. I was not that much stronger on the endurance ones.
I've learned so much about form and about such a variety of different exercises from Cathe and I do not have the discipline to work out in the garage when it is so bone-chillingly cold, so I'm greatful for her workouts during colder times. Besides it adds variety.
