Old-fashioned picnic with a new twist!

Because everything 'old school' is 'in' a group of ladies and myself are planning an "Old-Fashioned Community Picnic" for our church. Strangely enough the 4 of us are all pretty fit - we're between 35 and 50 years old. We were sharing memories of these types of picnics from our childhood and two of them said their favourite was always the women's race. It was such a hoot to see their mom's racing in their dresses. I'm not sure who came up with it but it was a consensus that yes we needed to have a women's race at our new 'old' picnic. With an evil, competitive gleam in our eyes we agreed it needed to be a 5K race. Let the training begin!!! Oh we've come a long way baby and I love it!!!
