Okay, anybody tried these yet?

I'll try them sometime this weekend (or maybe I should say "I'll try ONE"? ). Let you know how it turns out!

For me, that's looks like an accident waiting to happen. LOL. I wonder if there is an easier version to start with and then work up to the full blown version (kind of like doing tucks until one is strong enough to do pikes on the ball)

Yes, I love this move...it is my new favorite!

:D }( :D }( :D }(

I just tried it and I couldn't even get into the proper position to begin to even CONSIDER doing one of these! It's hard enough for me to get in a position where my shins are on the ball for roll-ins or whatever...forget just having the tops of your sneakers on!
I'm not feeling very well right now...I think my son gave him whatever he's got :-(...but I will admit that I doubt it would have made much of a difference even if I was feeling wonderful!x(

Hmmm....coordination is not my forte. I do want to try it out of curiosity, but I will definitely have to do it when DH isn't home. I don't want to take the chance of him possibly hurting himself....you know, by laughing too hard at me attempting the maneuver;)

Robin:)

Anne - I think the whole point of this move is to do it on the ball BECAUSE it's unstable. It recruits all sorts of muscles that you wouldn't if you were doing it on a stable surface.

>Ah Shelly, for some of us we need a stable surface to keep

LOL...how true that is!!!;)

I tried it, and I can do about (toy drum roll..............) 1/2 rep! (Can't hold the pike position, OR lift my leg all the way up there: but I can see that if one could work up to being able to do reps with this move---or even one full rep, LOL!---it could be a very challenging move for the glutes, as well as many other body parts!).

It certainly is harder than it looks! (I was hoping to get closer to being able to do 3/4 of the move!!).

I was just thinking: this is another thread (along with the "Cathe's male counterpart?" thread) that we should hope Cathe doesn't see...it might give her some ideas we don't want her to have!

Wow that is deceptively difficult! I'm sure I was not close to as high as she is either....I could do almost 4 reps on each leg without sneakers on (better grip I guess), but once I put sneakers on I could only do 2 on one leg and 1 and barely a half on the other. I rolled and then lost my balance and went tumbling down....hilarious. Maybe I will try again tomorrow when DH goes to the gym. There is no way am I letting him watch this one;)

You guys are funny. I can just barely do the pikes on the ball. I think I'll get a little better with them before I try these suckers. And you are right Kathryn. I don't want these showing up on Cathe's next DVD's!
