Ok, so I admit I'm a loser....

.... because I was SO EXCITED to discover that I can play my workout DVDs on my laptop! lol I am traveling all this week and I am staying in a lovely hotel room which has a very large space which will be perfect for kicking some (metaphorical) butt. For some reason I rarely use the fitness facilities in hotels - what's up with that? Perhaps all of those gym bygones with machine cardio that makes me want to jump out a window.... I know some of you love machines, but I personally have never met one that I wanted to make my friend. lol

Hi Marie,

I used to travel all the time and use my laptop, too. In fact,I got so used to doing that, that I never use my tv for working out. I like being able to do my workout in the foyer/dining room where there's more room but no tv - so it's been just the laptop for over a year :)

PS - you might want to modify some of the kickboxing so that you don't tick off your downstairs neighbors ... and at the better hotels the steam/sauna areas are worth the trip to the fitness area post-cathe.

Hey, that's how I started working out with DVDs. All I had was a VCR and wasn't ready to spring for a DVD player. I found a set of spare speakers, hooked them up to the laptop and went at it.

Aren't those laptops great? I'm going to the beach in 3 weeks and will be taking mine and a few Cathe DVDs...well, maybe...I may just be lazy.

Marie...you are no loser!!! I do like the gyms in hotels but now you make me want a laptop!!!!http://smilies.sofrayt.com/%5E/f/forwardroll.gif[/img]

I am a loser too. I have actually taken my step with my dvd player and laptop and weights on road trips. My husband doesn't even fight me on it anymore. He knows I would miss Cathe if I did not take her:) Now that I have been running though, I have to say it might be a tad easier just to bring running shoes.

Just curious, do you also carry weights for BC and ME? I travel a lot, and I always take my laptop and fitness DVDs that don't require equipment. I'd love to bring BC, but I can't figure out a way to do the weight work.

Writer, I have heard you can get dumbbells at better hotels. I've never tried, though. I was thinking that it might work to bring an exercise band and modify for the weight work, though. Has anyone tried that??

Marie, as everybody has said, you ain't no loser, girl, just because you play a little Cathe on your laptop! :) To the contrary, you've just discovered one of the best ways to USE your laptop!

In fact, if using a laptop to do a little kickboxing with Cathe and crew made you a loser, half the members on these Forums would have the big L tattooed on our foreheads!!!! :)

Amen to what Kathy S. said with a Capital "L". Ha! I know I have one deeply engraved in the middle of my forehead!
