Ok question for you fellow Catheites..............

Calico

Cathlete
that have been doing this for a long time. I received my DVDs and have begun trying the new workouts that I got. I have done the hi/lo of MIC, Cardio Kicks (which I really liked) and Saturday I tried Rhythmic Step.....well let's just say that even after previewing it first I was lost?!!! I have done the step on Body Max and didn't have too much trouble, though it took a couple of times to get the majority of it. Is this what it will take for Rhythmic Step too? I am almost afraid to try Interval Max for fear of what that one has in store for me:eek: . I did Slow and Heavy Legs and Shoulders today and feel like I will feel it tomorrow. It is definetely different from the Pure Strength series and rotation that I have been doing.:) I thought maybe a change today would be good so I tried it. You really do have to concentrate and I tended to go up and down faster than Cathe, which means I just need to slow up the next time.:-( But I did feel it!!:7

I guess I am just hoping I didn't bite off more than I can chew with the stepping. My step is also shorter than theirs so I had to modify there also. Plus when I went around the step and then you were supposed to go over the top, I wasn't anywhere near my step because it is shorter and I ended up beyond my step,LOL!!:7 :+ So I have left to try the rest of Slow and Heavy, the step portion of MIC and Interval Max. Hopefully I won't fall off my step with the other step workouts.

Thanks for listening to me ramble about my experiences. I am sure everybody was once where I am with new workouts and all. My heels do feel better especially if I wear good supporting shoes.

I went out and bought a pair of walking shoes to wear when we go to Vegas since I don't want to wear out my Ryka's walking. They aren't the best for walking long distances anyway. So now I have New Balance Walking shoes. We leave Sunday to drop off the boys in NC and then fly out on Monday from Raleigh.

If you have read this far, I applaud you and thank you:D :D !!

Thanks again:D

I wouldn't try to learn any new choreography until you get back into town. For Rhythmic Step, it took me a while and I still mess up on the repeater in section 3.

I strongly suggest getting a longer step. If you can afford it, buy one of those before you buy any more videos or equipment. It will make hop turns, diagonals, over the tops - almost everything - easier and more fun to do.

Slow and Heavy is a completely different form of lifting than Cathe typically does, but it is so worth it. By removing momentum like she does, and by really taxing your muscles with a heavy weight load, you will be amazed at how quickly your strength improves. I really like S&H! Enjoy your trip and your new workouts!

Yes,yes, yes! If at all possible buy a longer step. For a few months I worked out on a BodyShaping Step which is quite short. Buying a longer step made all the difference in the world with Cathe's workouts! Good luck and keep at it!:7
