How come some muscles are slower to develop DOMS than others? I did GS Back, Shoulders and Biceps on Tuesday morning. My biceps were sore the next day (Wednesday), as were my triceps (from the barbell pullovers). Today, Thursday, my lats and forearms are sore, but my biceps and triceps are all better. And my shoulders never got sore even though I worked them very hard.
What's up with that? Is it just me?
I once had a fitness instructor tell me that the better shape you are in, the sooner you'll get DOMS (if you're going to get it). I didn't really buy into that theory at the time, but now I'm starting to wonder. The muscles that got sore later (my lats and forearms) are muscles that I didn't work very much before I found Cathe. Oh it's probably just a coincidence and the theory is total hogwash... but I was just wondering if any of you fitness experts have an explanation for my staggered DOMS.
Maybe I'm just weird...
