Please share your experience with those of us who wish to follow in your footsteps:

1. What was your initial motivation to change?
2. What has been your nutritional plan?
3. Personally, I struggle with the social alcohol scene, what are your thoughts on this?
4. In your darkest moments of struggle, what would you do to stay focused?
5. What has been your workout plan?
6. How long has it taken you to achieve this level of success?
7. Give some pearls of wisdom.
8. Ever thought of posting a before and now picture side by side?

Thanks in advance,

Hi X.

Well, my motivation to change was being sick and tired of what I looked like and I wanted to get healthy and fit. That was my motivation for a long time but it wasn't easy to overcome. I had to make up my mind once and for all.

I eat between 1300-1500 cals which has been calculated for my body weight, measurments etc. I don't eat white carbs. I try to eat unprocessed foods. I eat minimal sugar and lots of protein. I don't pay attention to how many grams of carbs or protein I eat. And I drink tons of water.

I have many thoughts on social drinking. Too many to get into right now.

When I made up my mind and decided this was it, I just plugged along everyday. I worked out twice a day. I didn't emotionally eat. I followed a plan to the T and started to see results and when I would get down or discouraged, I just reminded myself that this was going to work, but take some time.

I try to follow rotations, but don't get very far each month. I had EXCELLENT results with Butts and Guts which was September 05'. I like to do cardio everyday 5-6 days a week. When I was losing weight I did cardio in the AM then weight workouts in the evening. I use light weights no heavier than 15#'s right now. My family is known for their thunder thighs so I am petrified of bulking up any more than I already am. Thus the freestyle approach. I also powerwalk about 4 miles a few times a week.

I started working out with Cathe February of last year and joined the forum. Then at the end of June I asked Marla (smoogy) for some advice and she started helping me with workouts and kept me on my toes. I weighed and measured every week and we kept record of my stats. So I would have to say it's been about 9 months so far.

Any wisdom I have is from these boards. I get it everyday from everyone here. Checking in and posting and being involved has made the difference from all the other times I tried at this and failed.

DH and I put July 05' picture and a new one side by side. I couldn't even believe it was me.

I would help anyone in any way I can to do this. Just like I was helped by everyone here. We just have to believe we can do it and stick to it! It works.

Sorry this is so long. You can IM or email me anytime. :)

Kali, you're such an inspiration. :) I'm so happy things are going well with the family these days.

Take care,
Marie

Thank you Kali. Do you happen to eat several small meals throughout the day? Understanding that everybody is different- can you share a typical day's nutritional plan?

Thanks,

X

Hahaha, Debbie, that's hysterical. :7

Kali, thanks for telling us about how the Sep. '05 rotation worked for you, I want to try doing that one this summer. The progress you've made in such a short amount of time is astonishing, congrats. :)
