We're really trying to sock money away for our upcoming vacation and some other expenses. When I ordered KP & C, I didn't realize a step workout was included, and really don't want the workout to go to waste. Can I do the moves without the step, is there a safe alternative to purchasing one at present??

Thanks!!

Jerry

KPC comes with Power Hour, if I'm correct. This is more of an endurance weight training/toning workout. The step in this workout is used more as a bench, than anything else. You can certainly get by without by modifying the moves that use it. For example, for chest work, you can just lay on the floor. You also may sit on it.For that, a step stool or armless chair should also work fine. Eventually you will want the step, as your range of motion will be hindered a bit on the floor, but it is a place to start. These are both great workouts and you'll find KPC to be challenging and quite fun. Enjoy and good luck!

KPC/Legs and Glutes. you can sub a sturdy step stool if you have one. i did that for ages before i got a step. i don't know if you have weights or not,but any heavy household object might be used until.hey if the firm can get away with it in their early videos(i think even the current fitprime workouts do this too),then you can certainly sub something until you can get equipment

Actually, KPC comes with Legs & Glutes and you could probably do all these exercises on the floor without the step to start out with.

RE: OK, I really can't afford a step right now...any su...

If you mean tall step, I used to use an upside crock.

They have step stools at walmart in/near electrical area that are only 8 dollars! You can use this! but be careful as sometimes it can slip when doing some of the exercises. I use it to this day and it works just fine! Some day I will invest but until then I see results from using this stool.....hth

Thanks for all the input. Until I get the "hang" of it...shouldn't take me more than 5 short years or so.. I'll try the workout without any step booster...but the step stool idea is a great one!

Thanks again,

Jerry

Hee hee, I use my coffee table :p. Shhhh, don't tell anyone!!! It's the perfect height for me. I just have to make sure I stay on the wood border and not the glass in the middle. I don't think that would feel too good ;-).

I'm glad you're enjoying your first Cathe DVD...it probably won't be your last. BTW, L&G is my fave lower body workout. It's got so much energy and is just plain fun (and hard)!

my dh made me a high step with wood. I gave him the measurements of an actual high step and he nailed some thick wood together and it works great. It isn't very pretty and I wouldn't pull it out in public, but it works. When Cathe lowers her step height I just switch to a plastic stool. I had the same issue with money as you and this solved it for now! Good luck, Legs and Glutes is one of my favorites!

Try looking for a used step in craigslist.com. I found mine for only $20 with 4 risers! With ebay you usually have to pay for shipping, but stuff in craigslist is supposed to be local to a specific metro area. I searched under "aerobic step". Good luck shopping!!

I never use my step. Well, rarely. It's a hassle digging it out from under the bed, and I hate doing step arobics anyway (I'm way too clumsy). Whenever they do leg presses on the tall step (which I don't have), I substitute one-legged squats with my leg perched on my coffee table (which is very sturdy). I also do tricep dips using my coffee table. Hope this was helpful.
